Bridgett it just keeps getting better and better. Loved hearing the purpose behind each unique piece. Thank you to David for sharing his knowledge and how lucky we are to learn from him. Your home is so Beautiful and love when family shares their talent - those are the true treasures. Your mom’s sampler are awesome and love the light from your stepdad. Have a wonderful rest of the week and looking forward to the next one.
I do love a good history lesson and this didn't disappoint. I'm fascinated with rush lights. I'm always amazed how people figured out how to use things. Well done.
Thank you Bridgette! David is a wealth of knowledge on primitive lighting, loved hearing the history of each piece. I love seeing what you have done in your home and how cozy it is with all your primitive goodness!!!
Another wonderful video, Bridgett! David and Debbie has so many beautiful things. I loved the story about the rush light! Your new arrangement of furniture looks lovely! I am now looking forward to your next video! The samplers are so pretty. So that is a hobby you share with your Mom. That makes it even more special!
Yes, making samplers is a hobby that I share with my Mama because she’s the one who taught me how to stitch when I was a little girl. You’re right, that doesn’t make it more special! Thank you for watching.
Oh my he was so intreasting.I could just listen to him for hours. Thank you for shareing these videos. You have quickly become one of my favorite you tubers. I love your channel
Great video, love your living room. I like that the mushroom arm bannister chairs are a little different, looks more authentic. Thanks for doing these videos, primitives rock!
Hello Bridgett, such a wonderful video! Thank you to David for sharing his knowledge about the history of primitive lighting. And I love your home! So very pretty! Take care and be blessed. Sincerely, Diane😊
Oh wow! That’s a really neat thing to collect and I’m sure that you did enjoy this video with all the information he had on early lighting. Thank you so much for watching!
This was so interesting Bridgett….David is such a good teacher and I’ve been drawn to early lighting for some time now and I really enjoyed seeing so many wonderful old pieces. The story of the rush Iight was amazing. There is so much history attached to these early pieces and the reason why so many of us enjoy having them and showing them off. Thank you for such a wonderful channel….always get excited when I see a new notification.
Thank you so much Deanna! I too am drawn to early lighting and it was just so fascinating to hear the story about how they came into existence. David was so interesting and so easy to listen to. As always, thank you so much for watching
A n enjoyable learning experience! David was great and thanks for sharing your new chair. How wonderful to find a match like that! I would leave it as is because each chair though similar has a character all its own. Love your videos!
Love your home, collections & videos Bridgett. In 2010 Country Sampler I had the pleasure of having our home featured along with your lovely Moma Betty. We e-mailed back & forth a few times ...fun times
Oh wow, that’s so awesome! I will have to look back in that issue and see your home. I will tell my mom that I got a sweet comment from you. Thank you for watching!
I really loved this video… the history lesson was a treasure. You know Bridgette, if I had the room and some of the pieces you have… I’d be moving thing too. As it is, I move a lot of the small things often. I’m searching for a tricorn hat. My son gave me a powder horn. And that hat box is a real treasure!
My friend just ordered a tricorn hat on the Internet and I believe it was from a costume place. Those tend to be less expensive than if you order one from someone who makes reenactment clothing. You might try that first. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much and I could listen to David talk for hours! I would have to say that banister back chairs are my favorite and my weakness! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for another fun and interesting video. I loved hearing the story about the rush light. David , like you said is very knowledgeable and a great speaker! I can't wait to see their new home some day! Bridgett, you have great collections in your home...makes me want to run out and go antiquing! Keep 'em coming!🤭
Very interesting and informative video. Would love to see another video on more of the treasures in this cottage. Fellow prim lovers please like and share her videos!
Thank you so much for your support and your encouragement! I too would like to sit and talk with David more about antiques and maybe I will be able to do so in the future. As always, thank you for watching!
Thank you so much! I too would love to know the stories behind the pieces that we have in our homes. If they could just talk, oh the stories they could tell!
Thank you so much for saying that I seem natural because I was so nervous when I first started making these videos! That makes me feel better to hear you say that and I thank you for it!
I love to learn new things!! So interesting about the early lighting. I love your home! So beautiful and peaceful. The furniture is stunning!! Love your videos!!!
I was fascinated to learn about the 500 year old lamp found in a Priests hole in England! I am English and have recently started collecting early Primitives however over here they are extremely difficult to find. The fact that this amp originated here is amazing. Thank-you for a very interesting talk from David, he certainly "knows his stuff
That makes me so happy to hear this! That is something I will definitely try to make a video about and I will get a little help from my Mom with her tips as well! As Always, thank you so much for your support and for watching
david knew it was a potato straight away! really enjoying your visit with bridgett, (lucked into her channel today isn't she lovely )uk here we are used to our grandparents or aged aunts having this sort of stuff around as relics from their parents...isn't it lovely that we can all enjoy a shared history
I just love your videos! You have so many beautiful primitives items that are hard to find but great to see. Love your friends primitive homes! Keep up your great work!
Wonderful video..i have a few questions, what are those candles hanging from your fireplace ? And why do people put table and chairs in the living room by fireplaces ? I see that a lot, I love it ..but I was wondering if there was a reason. Your home is breathtaking .I enjoy your videos and could watch them nonstop.lol.thank you.
I think that people put tables and chairs in front of fireplaces because the fireplace was a source of heat. The candles that are hanging on my fireplace are made from black iron hooks and a small rod. The candles hang from the rod by their wicks.
I just loved learning about the lighting and the tour of the Woodard's home, it is a beautiful cottage. I love your place too Brigitte. I have a friend who blacksmiths. I will have to ask him if he does the replicas of the candle holders. Thank you for the video.
Love your videos! I’m new to the prim style but absolutely love it. Can you tell me do you make the little rails that you hang your candles on in front of the fireplace mantle or do you buy them. I see them in alot of videos and want one
The ones that I have that are hanging on my fireplace are ones that I have made myself. I do know that you can buy these at some primitive stores but they are actually pretty easy to make. Just a couple of black iron hooks and a small rod to hang your candles from. That’s all there is to it! Hope this helps!
Wow, just when I think I’ve seen your best video, you come to us with another great one! I could have listened to David speak about his treasures for hours! You made me laugh out loud when you said “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” because I had been thinking that same thing. Your home is beautiful. You and your mom definitely have an eye for display. I may have missed this, but do you sell your sampler patterns?
Oh I really appreciate your sweet comment Michelle! I am so glad that you are enjoying my videos and I appreciate your support of my channel! I don’t do patterns but I have thought about maybe getting into that a little later. Thanks for your interest and for watching!
