As an American with ancestors from Wales and Scotland, I am fascinated by the Royal family. It horrifies me that this petty, pathetic American narcissist is causing all this heartache for them. Sadly, anyone who goes after their titles now will be labeled Racist. The titles should have been taken a long time ago, and those putative children should NOT be in the line of succession.

I would think the continuing drug use should be of intense concern for the people of Britain, even a possibility of an addict being in the line of succession is a travesty even if that’s ALL he was. Instead the couple have only escalated their falsehoods with no consequences or accountability and the King is not stopping it like he SHOULD HAVE WHEN HARRY WAS YOUNG. You assume that these things are merit based, but they're not. Have look at the Succession to the Crown Act, then you'll realise that you can't remove someone from the LOS because you don't like their behaviour. We're learning that there's only an unspoken contract that royals will deliver their side of the birthright bargain. River explained very well the legislative pitfalls in trying to remove titles, that are bestowed with expectation but we're scuppered if the recipient doesn't live up to those ideals.

PM Winston Churchill was the one to decide that Edward VIII must abdicate to marry the American divorcee. I agree, I think Parliament and Privy Council need to step in and strip Harry of his title(s) over trying to undermine the foundation of the Monarchy, which is in place by Constitution.

Stanley Baldwin was PM and insisted on the abdication. Churchill did have to handle Edward's wartime behaviour, but still held back from stripping his titles.

The PM was Stanley Baldwin in 1936 when Edward abdicated. Churchill was out of power from 1929 until Chamberlain included him in his War Cabinet at the start of the war in 1939 as First Lord of the Admiralty. It was known that Eddie was sympathetic to the German's and passed on sensitive information to them. I think most of the cabinet saw it as a way to remove a traitor.

I’ve had a fascination for Tudor history for a long time. With this last attack on KC3 and his lovely daughter-in-law, I’ve updated to the current RF. I think its the best idea from the tory MP to bring back with amendments, the Bill from 1917. This removes ALL titles not just Duke, so H&M can potentially become Mr & Mrs Windsor. The other bill, which was chucked out, was badly written and would never have passed through the House of Lords as it affected their positions.
Suspect the King is working with Parliament & HOL. It makes perfect sense as it is the peoples representatives who are giving KC3 legitimacy to get titles removed. The gruesome twosome can not claim KC3 alone is acting with malice, revenge etc etc.
Its time the King recognised the support of the people and the dismay we have that they have not received any consequences to breaking the Sandringham Agreement.

FROM THE BEGINNING... I've suggested in the case of Archie and his sister - BORN IN THE U.S.A. - honorific "prince/princess" titles be granted BUT also put simultaneously into abeyance. That upon age "x" (30, was my idea), can solicit parliament and the reigning monarch (this procedure being stipulated in an Act) for the titles to be taken out of abeyance, and there could even be conditions, such as higher level education in UK history/gov't, residence (not necessarily ownership) in the UK, and an oath before the monarch to "uphold... pledge... serve the people...". For anyone thinking those born into the titles and no hoops or hurdles, well... there is Sparry and MM to thank for my thought process.
Personally, I don't want 'Duke of Sussex' to only be removed, as then Madam will call herself Princess. I'd like him to lose his Princely title as he does not act in a Princely manner nor does he deserve it. Just 'Harry' , as he suggested a couple of years back, is perfect.

The royals and Parliament need to provide the proper, legal punishments and losing their titles and Harry's LOS will take the wind out of their sails (and their sales, too). Even Wallis and Edward never publicly attacked the royal family. They visited Hitler & supported him, which was ugly, but they didn't attack the British royals.
Apparently King Charles won't do it without Prince William's pushing and of course, Parliament. If it's started in Parliament, it does remove at least some of the onus from the royals. However I doubt if Prince William cares at this point. He wants his lovely, beloved Princess Catherine to be vindicated and no doubt so do most of the Commonwealth.
If Scobie's toxic tome did nothing else, it may be the impetus needed to administer a proper and forceful response to the Harkels' most recent attempt to slander the royals and damage the monarchy.
Scummy's book is mainly a hit piece on the reputation of Princess Catherine and Mad Meg's hands are all over it. Meghan's hatred and jealousy of well-loved, beautiful Princess Catherine is the reason for Mad Meg's accusing Catherine via Scobie's Banal Book of Lies.
It targeted Charles as well, as punishment for taking Frogmore Cottage away from them.

I am a citizen of the U.S.A. and would love for the King and Parliament to remove the titles and LOS as an act of diplomacy and respect for the people of the U.S.A. In England he does not contribute to the crown and in the U.S. he is interfering with our Constitution as well as the Bill of rights. His very presence in the U.S demands that U.S. taxpayers pay for his security as the son of a King as well as other protections. He either goes back home to England and keeps his titles or stays in the U.S. and willingly gives them up on his own. He should not be allowed to have both.
It's not in the monarch's legal remit to remove titles or anyone from the line of succession. The Succession to the Crown Act governs the criteria for succession and Harry qualifies, regardless of his behaviour.

The UK Succession Act was amended in 2013 after much debate in Parliament and there were changes to ensure that females would hold their position equal to males and if anyone in the LOS married a Catholic they wouldn't be excluded from the line. Additionally, the requirement to have permission to marry from the monarch for the first 6 individuals in line was modified, so if permission was denied, the individual wouldn't lose their place in line. Modern fertility options were debated, but no rules were changed to allow anyone born as a result surrogacy, donors or any child adopted, to be included in the line. So Parliament could have considered the changes made by other European countries but chose not to do so. You can read all the matters considered and debated in Hansard.

I was born into a family of blondes, straight blond hair I might add. All 7 of my siblings heights start at 5ft 8 to 6ft 4. They all have very pale skin. Then I arrived.
I am now a full grown woman of 57 with a husband and 5 children who all stand over 6ft except for my daughter who is the same height as me and I just reach 5ft, I have long curly brunette hair. Olive skin tone. All my life I have been labelled the cuckoo in the nest. I'm the milkman's the mailman's, dad has had to put up with the jokes about mom stepping out on him.Others have constantly talked about my skin colour. It was worse in school. My mom found photo's of her mom who sadly died when my mom was 10 and I am the spitting image of her in looks size and skin tone. It is a common conversation there is no racism involved it is a polite and usually nice conversation. For others to take it as anything else then that's on them. Some one some where will find racism in every thing. By using King Charles and Princess Catherine you have hit the mother load whether it is true or not doesn't even factor to a lot of people because they want it to be true.
