I speak for myself now, but i can guarantee that I may not be the only one who thinks like that.
The game with this set soundtracks was an wonderful experience. I really can't get enough of them. They are brilliant and I got so frustrated in the White Palace when I couldn't rage because of that beautiful soundtrack.
As I don't want to write too much (to many thinks to say about this topic), I would wrap things up and say: Thank you very much! I would really want to hear your soundtrack in many many projects from now on. c:

The kind words are more than deserved. The music and sound design behind video games is often, I feel, kind of taken for granted, although it's most of the time the main element that makes or breaks the atmosphere of the game. And you've truely nailed it in Hollow Knight.
Kudos to you! City of Tears is honestly a masterpiece.

Absolutely beautiful soundtrack. As soon as I got to City of Tears, I had to stop playing for a few minutes and just listen.
Yeah, that was just such a beautiful moment honestly. The ambience of the rain, the beautiful score and the stunning visuals int hat art style just really sink in at that moment so wonderfully its just... such an experience.

I didn't even have to think twice about purchasing the soundtrack. I play it almost every day in my car and my two year daughter seems absolutely adore it. She's fallen asleep to city of tears more than a couple of times.

I'm an aussie myself and really want to get into the industry. How you guys made Hollow Knight with less than 10 people has inspired me to start my own team with a few of my friends. We are having a lot of fun trying to make games and it likely wouldn't of happened if it weren't for Hollow Knight!
I might not be a developer, but I want to tell you that as long as your currently developing the game, worry more about making it fun, about keeping the spark that started it alive. When you get doubt over your project, let a few friends try it, and let them give you criticism, if you really need to, let a couple strangers try it and let them give you constructive criticism. And most importantly, don't give in to hate. You guys got this, and the guys like you is why the indie scene is more alive than the triple A. The best of luck to you my friends.

Hollow Knight underrated. This game deserves MUCH more attention. For example, like cuphead. All streemers play cuphead. It's everywhere. But Hollow Knight barely appeared in reviews and streamers(((

You managed to totally not fall into 'sad piano music' clichés with your sad piano-and-cello music! The music was unique and such a huge component to the emotional impact of the game. That part when the music changes as the end boss wrenches its own guts was completely gut-wrenching, I still hear it... So many feels this world left in me.
What's a 'sad piano music' cliche?

I cannot even think of Hollow Knight without the soundtrack in mind.
So much of the atmosphere and narrative is conveyed through the music.
The best example is the music of the (semi-) final fight against the hollow knight himself which starts out epic and threatening but then turns very heavy and sad as he starts impaling himself, dirven mad by the infection.
I'm very glad to have backed the project at a high enough tier to get the soundtrack. From what I've heard thus far it's going to be a real treat. Massive kudos to you guys, looking forward to playing the game and listening to the tunes.
This has to be one of the best soundtrack I've ever heard, be it for video games, series, anime or movies.
Sincerely, you're at the same level as Joe Hisaishi (composer of most of Miyazaki's OST), Yeong-wook Jo (Oldboy) or Susumu Hirasawa (Paprika) for me. And these guys are my favorite OST composers of all times.

Hollow Knight is actually, in my opinion, the best game I have ever played, along with Zelda BOTW
I'm korean Hollow knight's fan,and I like to play hollow knight and I really like to listen hollow knight music. Hollow knight's ost are beautiful, and these ost are my favorite game musics.Thank you Larkin!(I'm not good at english. Sorry about that.)
This game and it's soundtrack have touch the inner depths of my heart. Hollow knight revived my passion of gaming which was quite dead for a while. The OST is truly a masterpiece !!!

I absolutely love the theme to Greenpath! Coupled with the visuals, it's nice to find areas and just sit for a little while and take in that great music!
The crescendo of the crying violin underpinned by the ominous bass of the cello and doublebass in the midsection of Sealed Vessel is one the most beautiful muscial progression I have ever heard in soundtrack. Such incredible music. Hats off to you.

Abolutely stunning, I suffer from insomnia and Greenpath along with Resting Grounds really help me to fall asleep, because they calm me down. The whole soundtrack is a masterpiece, I have never heard such emotional music in a game before. Thank you so much for creating this

I started to play this game this week on Nintendo Switch..... And I can definitely say that the soundtrack is definitely the best game soundtrack in 2018 and one of the best I've ever heard. Congratulations Christopher you are fucking genius!
Hollow Knight is from 2017, and we can definitely say the best game soundtrack of 2018 is Celeste ;-)

The soundtrack is amazing. I love the piano in "City of tears" and the violin in "Hornet" so much, so much.
My favorite video game score ever. I listen to it every week. You did a brilliant job, man.
World class sound design. The secret is in the "quiet" and "gentle unhurried pace" of your melodies. You're letting the melodies take their time to develop, don't ever change that. Great music takes time to build and to reference itself.
The soundtrack for this game is without a doubt one of my absolute favorites. It is incredibly beautiful and just encapsulates everything so well. Really can't wait to hear what's coming up for Silksong.
"Hornet" is my favorite track from the game and among favorite of all time. Thank you for it!

Christopher - you've absolutely knocked it out of the park with this soundtrack. I find myself re-listening and discovering new layers and polyrhythms that I previously missed. This soundtrack is going to go down in history as one of the best ones out there.

I loved Hollow Knight to death, it was a wonderful game to play, great art and gameplay. But god, the music. It was so beautiful. I didn't realize just how much I loved it until the very end, the music that played during the last cutscene really did bring me to tears. 1 of 2 times I was so overcome with emotion of happiness as to what I just experienced, and the sadness that there was no more to play or listen to. You did a phenomenal job, and can't wait to see what you do in the future!
Your work feels like 50% of Hollow Knight's glory to me. It really adds a gravity to the narrative of the game that could come in no other way. I have studied music for nearly as long as I have lived and I am rarely inspired such as I have been with your music. I listened to the sample for Silksong and am so incredibly excited to hear how you bring that game to life as well. You are totally underrated

This is my game of 2017, and the music played a large part in that, thank you so much for putting so much passion into these pieces.
I am in love with the tranquility of Reflection, but the Resting Grounds theme just blew me away, the first time I heard it was one of those perfect video game moments. And now it's under my skin.

I've only just recently started with Hollow Knight. Through and through, I am impressed with the game. One of the biggest takeaways for me is the soundtrack. Each new area I enter, and I almost instantly fall in love with the music - it really sets the atmosphere. Dirthmouth, Greenpath, the City of Tears, and so on. I also love how you have kept to the same underlying melody - the leitmotif you call it - from place to place, and how each area also has it's own "tense" version that flawlessly kicks in when things gets a bit dicey.
Great work, and my best wishes for you in your future projects!

I was listening to the soundtrack long before I bought the game. It was one of my go to things to listen to when I needed art inspiration. Now that I'm playing through, I'm loving hearing these songs in context. You really did a phenomenal job!

Ma' mann I love you like really how beautifully you craft these gems man. Like it is really rare for me toh just put a playlist and play it without skipping any of the songs and that too of a video game because they sometime get slow or fast or just not matches with mood since its a game but your playlist is fabulous it just captures all the emotions beyond the limit.
