- A tutorial on how we set up our wind vane self-steering, servo-pendulum system to our tiller, and how it works. Sailing with this system ensures we don't put strain on our batteries and is our hardest working crew member. Our learn to sail series, sailing for beginners, is available in our channel, check it out.
Check out our earlier release covering the various wind vane systems:

yes!!! great idea... working on some electrics, maybe after
You produce excellent instructional videos that are easy to follow and understand with only minimal knowledge. What software do you use to produce the models and animations?
Thanks Adrian

Hi Adrian, thanks so much... I use Blender3D... there are also some tutorials on our channel we just released to get folks started, check them out. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated
This is an amazing explanation! Really nice work! Are there any differences or concerns when using it to go downwind instead of upwind?
thanks for your awesome comments... upwind is certainly easier. As you sail downwind, your apparent wind decreases so in low winds it can be a bit tricky. This requires good sail trim/wing-on-wing sailing.
