Yeah I completely forgot that normally the Dota UI is set up where the map is on the left. I came from League so I adjusted it so the map is on the right.

Good thing you have some basic from the LoL. You are doing pretty good in this match. I have some advice on hoodwink. 1. You can right click on your Q skill icon to toggle it to make it always plant a tree. 2. Maelstrom and Gleipnir is a very good item for hoodwink. 3. Your position on fights is a bit too front. Keep circling on the rim or at your skill range. Buying aether lense is a good option sometimes. Hope you enjoy the game
Thank you for the advice! Definitely need to work on my positioning in Dota especially because there are many abilities that can completely lock you down!
@@yoncreator Something I noticed as someone that plays both League and Dota, fog and vision are far more important in Dota than in League. Ganks in dota often occur by nobody being on the map then suddenly 3-4 enemies are ontop of you. Playing from fog and knowing how to break line of sight with trees is integral to positioning for teamfights in dota. In League it's much easier to predict these kind of from-fog engages because walls and bushes are permanent and engage ranges are not your entire screen. Trees, high-vs-low ground, as well as day/night in dota add a lot more variability in how vision plays into a teamfight or gank. Also, good job learning the game. I'm the only one among my friends that likes to play multiple MOBAs and enjoys the different flavors of the genre. Glad to see someone enjoy learning the game rather than just getting frustrated by going in blind then quitting.
honestly the fact that you press your buttons off cooldown will get you to an above average rank. More spells = more impact. I'd love to see how your journey into dota goes
In higher MMR games, it would have been to reset. He was so low it would have been a waste of regen and -1min to try to stay in the losing lane. it's just better to plain ole reset.
I was looking for a LOL player to start a Dota series, so I hope you will make more videos like this one. It was well made and I especially liked the part with the last hitting under the tower. :D Dota has a lot of intriguing techniques and mechanics so it is tough to master, it can be too much, especially in turbo where everything is sped up, so I recommend all pick. But your actions have a greater impact, so you must be careful. (perhaps you have played all pick when you said you played more games), but anyways. I can talk about this for hours, but in short, if you are interested in learning Dota, I would recommend a "friend" with Dota knowledge on call and start with playing against bots first, so you can pause and talk about mechanics just as they happen. Cheers! Have a great day!
Hey thank you for watching and leaving a thoughtful comment! Glad you enjoyed that part about last hitting under the tower - it surprisingly took a while to create that in the editor. I definitely play only all pick or ranked now. I quickly realized turbo isn't as fun as normal mode for me. Dota is definitely very difficult in the sense that there are mechanics and concepts that are so new and foreign in comparison to League. I'd say that League is a lot more streamlined and simple in terms of mechanics while Dota has some really wild mechanics (e.g. blocking camps, stacking camps, BKB, etc).
You're doing awesome dude! I was going to comment about how you can right-click some spells and they can toggle between a modified version. for example acornshot will produce a tree when fired if "autocasted" but then halfway through you figured it out lol. As a long time dota player with many LoL friends this was so entertaining!
with hoodwik I love to build Maelstrom first item, it has a powerful interaction with your Q. And allows you to easy farm lane and jungle. After that Desolator, then whatever fits against the enemy. Give it a try! At the end you got the combo, Q to the ground to create the tree, E to stun with that tree, charge ult while enemy is stunned. I'm a noob too, but that's the build I had more success with this hero :p also remember that your E allows you to walk through the trees, for easy scape and easy positioning for the combo!
auto report if you playing on my team as a supp, mana boots then atos then go for gleip, then euls or fs then go for crit. hood is a supp that transitions to dps.
Just happened to tune into your video, hope you're still playing! For the first match you actually landed some good skills, I think your experience with LoL helped for sure. Hope to see more learning content in the future, plus enjoyed the editing.
So glad u try dota, after play dota, I think winning in LOL gonna taste different, hahaha. Cause that what I feel, after playing other moba, I`m glad dota is my first moba . Just little tips, when starting game, ask ur lanning friend, are u carry or support, if he said carry, then u must do support. Learn what support must do. If u play hoodwink, and u play as pos 4 (soft support), u must make sure ur offlane survive the lanning phase, harras enemy support and carry, block neutral camp with sentry, and rotate to mid, to help kill their pos 2 (midlaner carry). U can also stacking ur ancient if ur pos 3 have bad lanning phase, they can recover latter. Buy support item first, like arcane boot , rod of atos, force staff or eul can really have impact in game. Anyway good luck.
Hey thanks a lot for checking the video out and giving some great advice! I've been learning a lot since this game and have a better understanding of the support role!
man you got a new fan going to watch your content also try gleipnir on hood i dont know if it writen on the acorn description but it triggers orb effects so it can trigger chain lightning also its a nice way to set up your stun and ulti oh about hitting ulti you dont have to max it out what most players do is after the stun ended fire your ulti so it doesnt give them time do dodge if you want to try a combo on hoodwink use acorn stun ulti while ulti is channeling use gleipnir to hold and fire max damage ulti Good luck with your next game
Hey crazyace91, thanks for the kind words and advice! Yeah, something I keep forgetting while playing Hoodwink is that I can cast Q and W while in Ult!! Also, after I wisened up and realized how great Glepnir is on Hoodwink I definitely build it every time when I can :)
Hey usamaali736, great to see you again in the comment section! Thank you so much for coming back and checking out my videos. Appreciate the sub and support immensely! See you in the next one!
Good stuff man, I learned to play with Bounty Hunter myself. Things look good to me! You'll fix most of the mistakes you made on your own. Just remember to use your item, spam those low cd items like solar or hood, you can sell things in turbo from anywhere too so getting rid of your wand and tangos. Lastly the crystalis, crit stick, you just had too many items near the end. Hood is a semi carry/support so she usually builds a little support like Rod of Atos, and or Glimmer first, then Gliepnir, Desolator, Daedalus, etc. Keep it up and you'll go far :pa_kiss:
Good play, actually! Hoodwink is kinda squishy against that gang of thugs, but you lived. Also, tactically speaking, Sheepstick is a crucial pick, both for keeping you alive and playing against Ember and Huskar.
I had to look up what "sheepstick" was and I realize it's Scythe of Vyse! I love that item, and I wanna build it every time I can. Too bad it turns them into pigs instead of sheeps in dota 2 though :(
Gelphnir is a more reasonable option on wink imo, the maelstrom acceleates your farm, the longer range lets you catch people and then walk closer to bushwack, and its cheaper. In turbo if you're getting dove a bunch, the scythe is good, but in a regular game you will not have the money until really late
Ana - one of the best dota players in history said "I mean I don't even know wtf is going on, I can't even see my hero." So if you don't know what's happening, it's not just a beginner thing
You were doing very very good , better than many people i know that are playing for years :D TBH you picked hoodwink which is a skill based hero , and still you did amazing :)
If this is an early game of yours I'm guessing you did a fair amount of research into the items etc., because of your purchases and all. And when playing Hoodwink, I sometimes go first item Arcane Boots, as mana is the thing I often struggle with most with that hero. Hoodwink has excellent spells, but what good are they if you can't cast them?
In this game, I think I tried to use the in game guide feature and followed some of it. However, this game was played and recorded last summer, so the recommended items have changed significantly since then! I agree with the arcane boots! Nowadays I rush build it asap after stick (if opposing laners have spam).
Legitimately, good sh*t. small tip; you can alt cast your q to always create a tree BUT lose the ability for it to lock onto someone... but hey if you're using it primarily to stun, it's good enough and it still bounces to a random enemy after that. You can toggle this with alt+q btw or just right clicking the ability button (but that's kinda slow).
I honestly would love to watch you stream dota 2. Not sure how much people would join in or how much you are willing to stream it lol. And seeing you cast skills is almost better than my friends who played it for as long as I know them which is 4 to 5 years
I always like seeing players from LoL play Dota and vice versa as it introduces new tactics from the other game. My League buddy thought me that in league as a support you are supposed to be close to your core in a straight line perpendicular to the lane for "maximum kill threat". So eventually I started doing the same thing with some of my heroes in Dota and my kills in lane skyrocketed! I think both fandoms can learn from each other in multiple ways
Only halfway through and I'm loving it! The edits are on point :) I know you said your recording was from last year, but if you are still learning, we can chat on discord any time you want, and I'd be happy to coach.
Hey TZAR_POTATO! Thank you so much for checking the video out! Appreciate your support so much! Your content is the reason why I had such an easier time transitioning to Dota from Lol! Please keep up the amazing work!
Alt hover over abilities to sometimes learn more. You can right click your Q to make it always create a tree for -1 bounce so stuns are easier. You did quite well for a first real game.
If you're playing as a support your goal in laning is to make sure your carry is having an easy time hitting creeps, if you know how to pull jungle creeps you stack it for them, make sure you put wards that give them vision so you can have info if the enemy plans on ganking you and in team fights forget the kills make sure you make it hard for the enemy team to team fight by disrupting them with stuns and disables and if you have heals you sustain your team mates
Hoodwink has a lot of strong abilities, good choice for your first hero. You were landing your stuns and not dying very much for a new player, you were contributing just with that. (in turbo, missing last hits hurts a LOT especially early game)
absolutely great gameplay with hoodwink, I would love to play with you since you set up a ton of team fights with the q into w, also yeah sometimes if you're not certain engaging is 100% win just let some of the tanks try and soak up the worst abilities the enemy has so you can try going alll in with no fear of dying instantly. At least it's what I concluded as a new player
Good content and easy sub from me. Youve got some good instincts, probably coming from league. Your itemization in this game is a little goofy (but there's a mountain of items in Dota and will take a while to learn them all). Veil of Discord for instance is wasted gold on you (I think the primal beast had a shiva's guard (upgraded Veil). Veil also eminates from the hero casting it, making it better for heroes that are going to be in the front or bait enemies into jumping onto them. If you really like support (I am a hard support player myself), aura and steroid items will win you games, even if your own damage isn't there. You will win a lot of games just by making yourself slippery, and steroiding your carry. Drums, Solar Crest, Force Staff, Glimmer Cape, Lotus Orb. You really can build these on any support hero and win games.
Wow thank you for the nice compliment! I got lucky with a really good team. I was so confused the whole match. I hope you stick around for the next episodes!
I'd love to see more "learning dota" gameplay from league enjoyers. If you haven't tried them already, Dawnbreaker is basically a reworked Leona (plays kind of the same) and the new support Ringmaster has league design philosophy written all over his kit
Thanks! Sometimes Dota does feel a bit clunky in comparison to League in terms of timing and ability cast windows. I struggled with that a lot, but after playing a few hundred hours of Dota I got used to it for the most part nowadays!
Turbo is a hell hole. But valiant effort. Rather go into nomal games where farm speeds are slower so you can adjust to the game. Veil of discord on Hoodie is a novel idea sadly with her abilities generally being long range it isnt ideal. You aghs shard does a similar thing lowering magic resist if only on one target if i am not mistaken. Also PB tends to desrtoy trees with most of his abilities meaning you don't get maximum stun of bushwack. But with a little coordination its a very nice lane.
also veil ss activateable. not sure if you activated it in game. It lowers magic resistance of all heroes in an AOE making your spells do extra damage. And now builds into Shiva's Gaurd which is a nice item to deal with Huskar as it reduces healing and attack speed. Also Scyth of Vise automatically destroys illusions so you would have known it was a huskar illusion before droping all your cool downs.
Thanks so much for the guidance! Yeah after a few turbo games I realized that the pacing of the game isn't for me. I like normal all pick much better! Also yeah, the amount of active items in Dota compared to League is crazy!
Always fun to see somone learning dota for the first time. Not sure how it is in League but alot of Heros and some items in dota allow you to operate from a significant distance with many being able to reach offscreen, this is also why ward vision is so important as more often then not by the time you can see the enemy hero on your screen its already too late so you'll want that early warning. Also does League have invis heroes, cuz if not your in for some pain with invis ganks XD
I noticed that you keep clicking the enemies when pressing your Q then following it up with your W but there is no stun since there is no tree for the enemies to get tangled on. As hoodwink, you can right click your Q or press CTRL + Q to use the alternate cast for the spell (the spell's icon will change as well if you do this). In this case, hoodwink's acorn shot will always plant a tree no matter if you click the enemy or not allowing you to instantly throw your W to stun enemies. Also, welcome to DotA
Looks pretty good imo. Your build is a little weird since you were kinda building support AND carry items. Ps if your up against any of the highly mobile spirit heroes like ember spirit Rod of Atos which builds into gleipnir are VERY good item choices to root them and keep them in a spot
Huge thing i learned recently is you can right click your q and toggle on hoodwink and always make a tree first before it starts bouncing! also welcome!
Oh I have about 2k hours put into dota and probably still a bit bad with some heroes(can only play few supports cause I mostly play carry) ... Hoodwink is one of them and it's surprising to me how good and orderly you played it, being in teamfights and having a role.
for a new player you are doing really well, especially your skill usage, i guess that comes from the league experience. probably the hardest thing to learn now is all the items and all hero skills and abilities, if you want to torture yourself xd
Some things will confuse you; if it’s early enough into the game, like before or just after bounties and you get really hurt like huskar did, it’s better to die and get full resources back rather than attempt to sit in lane on 10% hp. You give up a bit of cash but have the chance to make it back by being able to play the lane properly. Honestly you did well. Hoodwink isn’t the easiest to get the hang of and as a completely new player I think you did fantastic. 👍🏻
all the items are wrong for hood ... u want maelstrom into gleipnir ... the maelstrom procs with your acorn shots to give you the lighting bounces... and gleip is a good upgrade on the maelstrom for more control next items are probably something like Daedalus (for crit procs with your acorns) or pike (for attack distance being able to either close gaps or open gaps) late game can be skadi/bkb/windwaker/aghs depending on situation (whether u need more control or kiting) hood is the kind of support hero that can transition into high damage core ... the items I mentioned kinda reflect that
it surely is overwhelming at the start hope that you are able to also enjoy yourself and keep playing n enjoying the game I feel its best enjoyed with friends so if possible try to get some party games but all the best
Hah, another new player who also started with Hoodwink as I did! She is a great choice a pretty versatile hero that is and awesome support, but can also scale up into a secondary carry in late game with right items. Your item choices on the start feel really strange for me(honestly, I haven't figured out how useful the blight stone is honestly, even though it is recommended by some). I usually go for early mana items( like on the start buy that purple mask for 0.7 mana, and then into arcane boots), and it can be seen that you really struggled with mana early game. Hoodwink has strong spells for early game, so having enough mana is essential for her. If you/your team mate get killed too often, you should buy Force staff or Glimmer cape to save either yourself or your mate out of bad situation. For example, in this situation 5:14 when huskar jumped on you(lets ignore Pudge hooking him back), you could use force staff to push yourself and break distance, or glimmer to become invisible. Otherwise, if not for Pudge's hook, he would have killed you. If your team does not really require saves and you have some few peacefull minutes, go Maelstorm - it significantly boosts your acorn shot and allows you to farm creeps/ancients very fast, which means you can gather gold much faster for everything else, and in late game you can upgrade it into a Glepnier, which can root an entire group of enemies and make them an easy immobile target for your tree+bushwack combo. If you still do not feel save, you can buy Aether lense, to make yourself cast abilities from even further and safer distance. If you get jumped and killed VERY fast (we are talking about 2-3 seconds) with high alpha damage and/or a bunch of debuffs/slows that make you unable to escape , get yourself Aeon disk - it makes you invulnerable for like a second after you are below 70% hp and dispels most negative effects, but during this invulnerability you can't attack either(shouldn't be a problem if you are support). Also about planting a tree - if you press right click on the acorn shot ability, it will go into alternative mode, where it will ALWAYS plant a tree, even if you click right on the hero. Also, another important thing about acorn shot - everything(at least I think so) that boosts/affects your base attack works on acorn shot too, like maelstorm would make acorn shot have a chance to start a chain lighning, slow down from Eye of Scadi works on every hit of acorn shot too, same for blight stone/corrosion orb/Desolator, additional crit chance from Daedalus, etc. Hoodwink is an awesome hero with strong crowd control and mobility, that allows you to run around the map and suddenly help out in different fights. If you get yourself Glepnier + Orchid Malevolence/Heavens Halbert/Scythe of Vyse, you become and extremely obnoxious hero that can straight up disable almost any enemy hero from the fight, but with how squishy your are, you usually become the target number one, which means you have to be extremely careful with your positioning. For as long as enemies can't reach you, you become their nightmare, and this is what you should try and learn to do.
Thanks a bunch for the detailed advice and feedback! I really appreciate it. When you play as a Pos 4, what's the best way to get gold in the match without getting in the way of your carries pos 1/2/3? I don't want to take farm or resources away from teammates, but in a lot of my normal all pick matches people don't really farm the camps or push waves, so I end up taking a lot of them (which I don't mind at all because I get to build expensive items!) I ask this for the future because I would like to know the "proper" way to play Dota 2.
@@yoncreator Well, I don't really play by a strict plan or anything, but I am gonna try and tell how it feels I am doing it. So, as a position 4, you technically have "right" to farm creeps together with your carry( position 5 is the one that gives everything to their carry and just constantly walks with them), so you can talk this out with your team mate. Usually, I get plenty of gold from kills/assist in early game, but if you can't secure such at that moment, just take any opportunity to get gold that your carry can not use. For example, if you see that he can't kill some creep in time before it dies - kill it yourself. If you see your carry is away for some reason, farm the creeps. If you see that your carry is all fine on the lane by himself, you can farm ancients. If you see your carry can stay fine alone for around 30 seconds, go get gold runes on the sides. If you see your carry can do fine by himself for a minute or 2, you can go through the portal and try to gang somebody on the other lane( could be mid too.) After laning phase is ended, I just walk around the map and farm creeps/ancients if I see that none of my teammates need help, nobody of my teammates are attacking(if they do, you better be with them, since you can save them or catch enemies with bushwack), there are no targets to gang and none of the carries are around to take those creeps/ancients instead. If you have enough vision, courage, save tools and/or map control, you can steal anicents from enemy's side( double win, since you both deny enemy getting them, and you are not taking away from your team mates), but you gotta do it carefully. If your team is doing fine and there is no need in any particular item (like Orchid Malevolence to silence some annoying/dangerous hero, or force staff/glimmer to get your team mates out of problems), get Maelstorm first. With Maelstorm, you can clear out almost any creep wave/ancient camp with a single acorn shot. Hell you can even run into enemy's forest and clear out 2 out of 3 camps there in a matter of 4-5 seconds - acorn shot into one camp, bushwack into another, finish off survivors and run away with free gold. With such kill speed bonus, Maelstorm allows you to safely clear out creep waves even far away from the team mates (For example, lets say you are far from the team and there is a creep wave deep inside enemy's territory, somewhere between their T1 and T2. You shouldn't stick around there in vision of enemy's creeps for long, since enemies could easily gang you there. Maelstorm allows you to clear any creep wave in 3 seconds and safely run away before anybody could come here.) One awesome thing about Hoodwink, is that unlike many other supports, she can actually scale up pretty well with farm into a secondary core/carry(for as long as your team has heroes to protect her form being focused instantly). if you see that your carry isn't doing well/doesn't know how to play well, just start farming for yourself. Overall conclusion - take any farm that your team mate can not/does not. Hoodwink scales really well with good items and you need it.
Kinda. If you have an enemy Medusa and no Anti-Mage. It's by no means impossible to win but it's a lot harder if that Medusa is farmed and a good player.
you are pretty damn good tho.. usually new learner just wont bother studied or even tutorial.. also tips, for playing dota being patience is the key, just using 1,2 or 3 heroes only and master the heroes would really helping to learn the whole game it self naturally, so you should just focus on the heroes you like and start using different item build and roles for it, thats what makes dota "fun"
Hey i know this is like 1 month late and maybe you know some of this already but here some info You can right click your Q icon skill, and it will always plant a tree when you cast it(if you dont sometimes it wont plant a tree because it hit enemy first) You can alt+right click to toggle range indicator for skill/item/attack range, just alt+right click the skill icon/item/hero portrait on the left of your skill to do it Other than that, for someone who play for the first time, you nailed the accorn+bushwack, just need to improve your aim on ult lol
@@yoncreator Back in the old days of Dota 2 (around 2013), the worst thing which could happen was getting Fountain Hooked by Pudge i.e. getting hooked directly to enemy fountain/base and dying there for sure almost instantly. It happened to me once in pubs and I was confused what happened to me. Then I found out and felt disgusted about it. A famous example of a Pro team doing this strat is the match Na'Vi vs TongFu Upper Bracket Semifinals Game 3 of The International 2013.
i will tell you what happen at min @2:48. Technically, the huskar set the minimap to be on the bottom left side. So when he was trying to run away from you guys, his cursor was clicking the area near the minimap and accidentally click the top right of the minimap. So the hero was following the command from the cursor and went the opposite way XD
as a immortal rank player you did very well for being so new. your mechanics alone probably place you around archon maybe legend rank. Not sure if you still play the game but you seem to mesh well with it
since positioning is so diff between the games I think your doing well, just need to adjust to pacing and actions people take. ex no junglers, it's probs gonna be the pos4 suport coming to kill someone. But that huskar chase, was good maybe a bit hasty as you had no vision of enemies and could have overextended easily but the other players have a hard time learning it too if they don't realise Keep up maybe we'll see each other in game
Yo how often are you playing this game? Which region? I don't see daily doto videos from you.. woud like to see more. I like your patience of learning the mechanics. Keep it up
you did great. next time keep in mind that the items on your backpack dont give you the stats and effect so you need to strategize what you want to put on your item slots.
Thank you for the comment and the advice! Yeah putting items in and out of backpack is a whole new tech I never knew... I learned pros even swap items when using regen items to maximize the effectiveness of bottle.. so crazy!

Thanks so much! I'll continue to document the journey
2:45 Dota players have a map on the left, and Huskar clicked on the tower in a panic, and clicked on the corner of his map, classic...
Ohhh it all makes sense now!!
In higher MMR games, it would have been to reset. He was so low it would have been a waste of regen and -1min to try to stay in the losing lane. it's just better to plain ole reset.
Great editing, like your vibes, if you keep them coming, I will keep watching
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! Glad to hear you enjoyed it, and thank you for the positive feedback.
Another awesome video! Loved all the added video effects. Keep it up, man!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the support :)
My mind blown the moment you brought up about Hoodwink is basically Jhin, only realize about it now
Yeah I thought it was crazy at first too, but they do play really similarly!
Enjoyed your video, bro. Hope you'll continue posting more. Have fun with Dota 2!
You are doing great, I love your approach to the overwhelming experience dota can be for new players
Great editing, really liked the Banjo-Kazooie sfx. I'd definitely watch more of your Dota journey!
Thank you for watching and the nice comment! I worked very hard on it, so I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it. See you in the next video!
Terrible build as a support
@@Epig420 yeah not for support, just for noob Turbos!
@@Epig420 Imagine, but hoodwink can be played as a core in the right draft
auto report if you playing on my team as a supp, mana boots then atos then go for gleip, then euls or fs then go for crit. hood is a supp that transitions to dps.
@@copfer99 do you guys have sups in turbo?
That was a good game! well played, hope you continue to stick around ^^
great job man, u did alot in research and study and u played damn well, turbo is a great place to learn againts others, keep up to good work
man you got a new fan going to watch your content also try gleipnir on hood i dont know if it writen on the acorn description but it triggers orb effects so it can trigger chain lightning also its a nice way to set up your stun and ulti oh about hitting ulti you dont have to max it out what most players do is after the stun ended fire your ulti so it doesnt give them time do dodge
if you want to try a combo on hoodwink use acorn stun ulti while ulti is channeling use gleipnir to hold and fire max damage ulti
Good luck with your next game
Hey crazyace91, thanks for the kind words and advice!
Yeah, something I keep forgetting while playing Hoodwink is that I can cast Q and W while in Ult!! Also, after I wisened up and realized how great Glepnir is on Hoodwink I definitely build it every time when I can :)
As a ranged support its nice to see you backing up in the later part of the game when your spells are on cooldown.
your content is great, man! Im so glad i subscribed
For a new Dota player, your gameplay in this match was beautiful. Keep this up and you can get a decent rank when calibrated.
Would love to see more. I had a very similar experience as you
Good play, actually!
Great vid, shocking you are this familiar without someone else coaching you. Subbed + waiting for more dota
Ana - one of the best dota players in history said "I mean I don't even know wtf is going on, I can't even see my hero." So if you don't know what's happening, it's not just a beginner thing
You were doing very very good , better than many people i know that are playing for years :D
TBH you picked hoodwink which is a skill based hero , and still you did amazing :)
Nowadays I rush build it asap after stick (if opposing laners have spam).
make more for sure! as a long time dota player i really enjoyed this. great little fun edits
it's very funny and a good way, to see players tryng dots. I love the game, and I realy enjoyed the content. :D
And seeing you cast skills is almost better than my friends who played it for as long as I know them which is 4 to 5 years
you're doing great!! n ur games makes my day ngl😂
dude your hoodwink combo is really fast and really good!!!
Awesome video man, breath of fresh air
Only halfway through and I'm loving it! The edits are on point :) I know you said your recording was from last year, but if you are still learning, we can chat on discord any time you want, and I'd be happy to coach.

dude nice gameplay for new player (Welcome to DOTA 2)
Thank you! Glad to be here!
actually did pretty well; one of the best first time dota videos I seen.
Alt hover over abilities to sometimes learn more.
You can right click your Q to make it always create a tree for -1 bounce so stuns are easier.
You did quite well for a first real game.
Thank you for the tips! Will definitely use them in the future.
I enjoyed this, would be great to see you keep going
You are doing great. I hope to see your growth in dota
Thanks so much for the tips and great feedback! I appreciate it a ton!
U played better than my friends who have been playing the game for 10 years and that ember catch at the end . Mwahhh
Wow thank you for the nice compliment! I got lucky with a really good team. I was so confused the whole match. I hope you stick around for the next episodes!
that huskar hook was hilarious 😂
Report that Huskar for griefing. JK.
Hey this content slaps, keep it coming;)
Thanks a lot for the kind feedback! Stay tuned :)
I'd love to see more "learning dota" gameplay from league enjoyers. If you haven't tried them already, Dawnbreaker is basically a reworked Leona (plays kind of the same) and the new support Ringmaster has league design philosophy written all over his kit
you are pretty good at clicking buttons already^^
Thanks! That's all I'm good for HAHA
Actually learning this game the right way, kudos to you sir
6:39 yea that's good stuff, u stunt that huskar on point on a range that often player miss cos the interface skill for bushwak kinda buggy
Also yeah, the amount of active items in Dota compared to League is crazy!
hoodwink abilities are pretty much the most league-like so it makes sense for you to play it
love mario music in the vid!
Yeah Hoodwink is really fun! I still play her often. Thank you, I love the mario music :)
Yeah, the build is definitely suspect for sure LOL. I have definitely learned that Glepnir is one of my favorite items ever
Huge thing i learned recently is you can right click your q and toggle on hoodwink and always make a tree first before it starts bouncing!
also welcome!
You did a great job! Mobas are very complicated, so no worries!
It was fun watching you. I think you are pretty good.
all the items are wrong for hood ... u want maelstrom into gleipnir ... the maelstrom procs with your acorn shots to give you the lighting bounces... and gleip is a good upgrade on the maelstrom for more control
next items are probably something like Daedalus (for crit procs with your acorns) or pike (for attack distance being able to either close gaps or open gaps)
late game can be skadi/bkb/windwaker/aghs depending on situation (whether u need more control or kiting)
hood is the kind of support hero that can transition into high damage core ... the items I mentioned kinda reflect that
nice video! keep pushing dota its worth ^^ my gf started the year aswell

@@yoncreator But you have to skip the one before 4 but after 2, cuz y'know!
@@metaljessmax18 he doesn't get the meme.
If you see your carry can do fine by himself for a minute or 2, you can go through the portal and try to gang somebody on the other lane( could be mid too.)
After laning phase is ended, I just walk around the map and farm creeps/ancients if I see that none of my teammates need help, nobody of my teammates are attacking(if they do, you better be with them, since you can save them or catch enemies with bushwack), there are no targets to gang and none of the carries are around to take those creeps/ancients instead.
Maelstorm allows you to clear any creep wave in 3 seconds and safely run away before anybody could come here.)
One awesome thing about Hoodwink, is that unlike many other supports, she can actually scale up pretty well with farm into a secondary core/carry(for as long as your team has heroes to protect her form being focused instantly).
if you see that your carry isn't doing well/doesn't know how to play well, just start farming for yourself.
Overall conclusion - take any farm that your team mate can not/does not. Hoodwink scales really well with good items and you need it.
sir u doing fine
Thank you for the feedback sir!
thing i like about dota is that hero counters like in league doesnt matter as much as you have a bunch of items that can counter them
Kinda. If you have an enemy Medusa and no Anti-Mage. It's by no means impossible to win but it's a lot harder if that Medusa is farmed and a good player.
Overall nice gameplay dude
remember you can change map+shop pos, left shop hurts my eyes lmao
that huskar and pudge hook was too relatable lololol

What can I say, I love throwing nuts at them :)
Heyyy... you got my sub brother. Keep it up!
I would consider hoodwink a more core roll most of the time, but can be played support. Depends on team comp.
you are pretty damn good tho.. usually new learner just wont bother studied or even tutorial.. also tips, for playing dota being patience is the key, just using 1,2 or 3 heroes only and master the heroes would really helping to learn the whole game it self naturally, so you should just focus on the heroes you like and start using different item build and roles for it, thats what makes dota "fun"
Hey i know this is like 1 month late and maybe you know some of this already but here some info
You can right click your Q icon skill, and it will always plant a tree when you cast it(if you dont sometimes it wont plant a tree because it hit enemy first)
You can alt+right click to toggle range indicator for skill/item/attack range, just alt+right click the skill icon/item/hero portrait on the left of your skill to do it
Other than that, for someone who play for the first time, you nailed the accorn+bushwack, just need to improve your aim on ult lol
Getting hooked by pudge is disgusting. As soon as yoi got hooked i felt it both times it played lol.
I know right? It always feels so scary and sad when I get hooked because it means certain death.
You got good editing, thumbs up :)
Hilarious intro. Ults an illusion into "i think i did well" 😂😂
Its kinda entertaining to watch dota from new player's perspective.
Dota 2 can get really complicated sometimes.. no worries keep learning and grinding❤
as a immortal rank player you did very well for being so new. your mechanics alone probably place you around archon maybe legend rank. Not sure if you still play the game but you seem to mesh well with it
When hoodwink channeling his ultimate . You can click your spells and item .
since positioning is so diff between the games I think your doing well, just need to adjust to pacing and actions people take. ex no junglers, it's probs gonna be the pos4 suport coming to kill someone.
But that huskar chase, was good maybe a bit hasty as you had no vision of enemies and could have overextended easily but the other players have a hard time learning it too if they don't realise
Keep up maybe we'll see each other in game
Yo how often are you playing this game? Which region? I don't see daily doto videos from you.. woud like to see more. I like your patience of learning the mechanics. Keep it up
good stuff bro. you clicked those skills and items like not a first timer
bro you were sick! better than 50% of the current pool
you did great. next time keep in mind that the items on your backpack dont give you the stats and effect so you need to strategize what you want to put on your item slots.
Thank you for the comment and the advice! Yeah putting items in and out of backpack is a whole new tech I never knew... I learned pros even swap items when using regen items to maximize the effectiveness of bottle.. so crazy!
Tip: you can throw your W first then cast Q to spawn a tree. Travel time is a thing.
Good job brow. You played really Nice.
