    Interesting. Im into cars and have been installing and conceptualizing all sorts of security measures into 90s/older cars (chips, rfid, etc). Would be interesting to use a light based "key" in a security system bc we dont usually associated a light as a "key". Or use it for just 1 part of security system.

    • @starmc26
      @starmc26 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn't be a "key",but just a switch or aux switch in order to power a secondary system, or supply a ground....for systems such as the ignition.

  • @danielbarbosa3

    2:40 What I believe is the correct way of calculating the necessary resistor to implement in our circuit; we should first determine what is the voltage drop across the 70 Ohm LDR, first:
    [LDR] V = R x I = 70(Ω) x 0.02(A)
    [LDR] V = 1.14(V).
    Now that we have found what the voltage drop around the LDR is, we can calculate the voltage drop that needs to take place in the Resistor we are trying to find. We subtract all the voltage drops from the original 9(V) battery:
    [Voltage drop from the required Resistor] R(V) = [Battery/Total] 9(V) - [LED] 2(V) - [LDR] 1.14(V) = 6.86(V)
    Now that we now that our Resistance will give us a 6.86(V) drop after we implement it; we can calculate what actual resistance (in Ohm) it will consist of:
    R(Ω) = 1.14 (V) / 0.02 (A)
    R = 343 Ω.
    Am I correct, or am I missing something?

    I preface this comment with, I literally know nothing about all this cool stuff. My ADHD took me down a hyper-fixation rabbit hole learning about circuits on TH-cam, and now I have a question that might be silly to those of you who actually understand all of this... but... Can the LDR be a self-sustaining circuit? Meaning, if the light has a two-way switch, and one of the switches is an LDR opposite to your example (light on=LDR lets flow through instead of resisting), could the second switch turn on the light but then when that same switch goes to the off position the light would stay on because the first LDR switch is triggered by the light? LOL please help! I can't rest until I answer my weird hypothetical, but I don't know enough to google the right words...
