I get the criticism & understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea but I personally like the use of the narrator here. It helps to avoid the usual shonen pitfalls of having the characters explain their powers to the enemy by having the narrator explain them instead. Look at Bleach for example, u got characters spend several mins explaining their powers to the enemy which just doesn't make sense. I much prefer the way HxH does it.
the animes pacing for this arc wasnt the great. the highs are the highest theyve been but the lows are hard to watch---3-4 episodes on a fucking stairwell interjected with as many flashbacks/jump cuts as possible holy shit. the manga was peak tho.
