- Hello Beatles Friends! Today i'll be unboxing the brand new Remixed and Expanded 6 LP Edition of the Beatles two 1973 compilations titled 1962-1966 (The Red Album) & 1967-1970 (The Blue Album). This is the 6 LP Colored Vinyl Box Set. I'll be showing both albums, the insert, and of course the colored vinyl records. I also preordered the CD Box set but I won't be receiving it for another month. I'll do my unboxing video of the CD Box set as soon as i receive it. Apple cheaped out on the packaging. Should have been a tri-fold laminated jacket and included poly-lined sleeves. Also the Red set running time per side is much lower than the Blue set. I don't see why they couldn't include another half dozen songs on the Red set. Missing Rain, She's a Woman, If I Fell and Beatles for Sale has only 1 song representing it. Very expensive for what you get.
Hello Starfox I mean Tony. I most definitely agree with everything you say here. Should have been a trifold sleeve. The Red album with the expanded songs is about an hour and a half still less than the Blue album. I’d say get rid of “You Really Got A Hold On Me” and place it with one of the songs you mentioned. Despite the flaws in these expanded albums, I’m happy with these two expanded colored vinyl albums. Thank you for watching and venting too lol

Nice-looking, but for 75 bucks apiece, I would like a sleeve pocket for each disc instead of jamming two into one in the sleeve. No, thanks - hard pass. I just download, rip and burn onto my own CDs. Apple can do better. There's no excuse for charging 75 apiece. That's ridiculous.
It’s a 3 LP set. I really wished this was a trifold instead of a gatefold.
@@Beatlevinyl85 Yes. They made the Anthology albums a tri-fold, what's the problem here? I love the Beatles, I cried during the Now & Then video, but I despise what they call "packaging". To call the newly added songs "bonus tracks" - "bravo" 🤢
My guess is that the Red and Blue vinyl sets were going to be released exactly like the original without bonus tracks and on 2 records. They likely printed the sleeves and pressed the records beforehand but had an afterthought to add a 3rd record which explains the gatefold instead of the
trifold jacket and the bonus songs not incorporated chronologically.

I bought this box with the new remasters...but some songs sound very bad...especially "She loves you" the sound seems dirty. almost all the songs lack dynamics. all blended into a flat and thick sound. It's like listening to an MP3 instead of vinyl...

The colored vinyl looks great and the bonus disc are very cool. Don't own this yet due to its price tag, but I do own the 2014 vinyl reissues of the red and blue albums, and I love the sound of those records. In your opinion, which ones sound better? The 2014 editions or the 2023 editions? One day, I will pick these new editions up. Great video!

Whether or not I pick up the 2023 colored vinyl or plain black vinyl, the main thing is how they sound. These new reissues have gotten rave reviews around the world, and where I live in Canada, I'm certain they are a top seller here. Of course, I have been streaming the 2023 edition, and they sound fantastic
Hey, how are you? I really like your videos and it’s great that you talk about all these releases in Beatles music. I am a Beatles fan too, just not as big as some other people. I decided not to buy the new versions of these Beatles albums because they cost too much money and I don’t need all the bonus tracks. I already have the original black vinyl from 1973, the original CD version and the remastered CDs from 2010 so I’m happy with those formats. The colored vinyl looks really nice. The problem that I have with the albums is the bonus tracks being remixed. I don’t think the 3 songs the Beatles covered should be on here at all. There was really no point in adding the others because nothing is balanced out. If you’re going to add those other songs, they should all be songs written and recorded by the Beatles. Just a little complaint there. “Now and Then” is good on the blue album, but that’s the only new song worth talking about. It was good having the remixes, but it’s not worth owning the albums for that money if you already have them. I hope you enjoy the new mixes of the songs. The new red and blue albums are good for someone who likes to collect Beatles music as well as listen to it. Seems like you’re the completist Beatles collector here. Thank you for showing us.

Hi Marvin, I also bought the coloured version and am very happy with it, however, I noticed the following:
The weight of the blue coloured LPs is definitely not 180 grams.
I weighed all six LPs on my kitchen scale and came up with the following weights: (RED) LP1. 197g, LP2.198g, LP3.200g and then it comes: (BLUE) LP1.173g, LP2.173g and LP3.only 155g.
My kitchen scale won't be 100% accurate, but the blue coloured Elpees clearly weigh less than the red coloured LPs very odd.
Especially lp 6 of 155g swabs when you move it back and forth quickly, so it does not have the rigidity of a 180g lp.
Test it yourself and you will be amazed, but nevertheless the sound quality is no less.

When I started hearing about 180 gram this and that, I thought, "that's all well and good - is it good quality vinyl? Will it skip? Will it warp? Does weighing 180 grams guarantee none of this will happen? Would being a thicker disc have any impact on the quality of the transfer of the master tapes?" I couldn't get an answer to my questions, so I stopped caring how much it weighed. At least the records I've been buying haven't been flimsy numbers like what was popular in the 70s, so it's a good chance they won't get warped.
@@farrellmcnulty909 Hi, weighing 180 grams does not guarantee that it is good vinyl, that it will not skip or that it is warp free, so indeed you don't have to worry about that. I just happened to notice by accident that the blue records weighed less, so no big deal 😉

Erm because the cover is blue!
They’re both referred to as the Red and Blue albums because of the color of the border on both the front and back covers.
I bought the cds....they are a terrible disappointment. With the exception of maybe 10 tracks they are dull and lifeless.
