I love love how you consider Lana to be the voice of your generation. I am so much older, maybe even older then your dad, and the fact that we can both love Lana’s music so passionately makes me sooo happy. 💙
That's like a classic romantic ballad from a long time ago, like from Italy, Spain or Mexico. Your daughter may have "an old soul" to love this as much as she does. It is a beautiful song.
I'm 56 and have three Lana Del Rey albums.....get with the times, Shawn! (There's a Stevie Nicks duet on that album called "Beautiful People", I think.....should check that out!
@@thomasdempsey721I'm 17 and I've been listening to her since I was 14 years old lana is literally the queen of sadness and one of my most favourite artists of all time
I had no clue what the song was about, but Zoe's rendition of singing it was great & her performance was great was also terrific ~ you two make a great team
Shawn, one of your viewers commented, ( on my comment) on this performer for me to hear more from her catalogue, did so just now. This is to Zoey, you have great taste, not a style expected for your age. So nice you are listening to your dad's music and vice versa, adorable.
I think you two are my favorite father-daughter reactors on TH-cam...I love the obvious close relationship your daughter has to you...please show her all the biggest hits of the 80's....I am in my early 50's and I think the 80's is the decade loaded with great iconic songs...I might be biased, but I have heard many who shared the same feelings as well...also please share with her all the Elvis songs....most of his early famous songs such as Jail House Rock from the 1950's are a little boring I think...the later songs are much better to me....but most important thing for you to do is keep bringing your daughter in these videos...she has such a sweet happy personality!
Shawn, Zoey, I have a hard time to tolerate today's music, this song astonished me. If you said it was from 50 yrs ago, I would believe you. Zoey you are a born entertainer and your vocal is great. This lady singing has a beautiful voice, I would listen to this more then once. Type of song when just laxing in a hammock, thoughts up in the clouds. Suggest: "The river" " In the backroom" both by Eno/Cale......"Drifting away" by Doug and the slugs......."Blue" by Leanne Rimes
You NEED to listen to Lana's entire discography, in order, starting with Born to Die, then the Paradise EP, which you must watch the short film, Tropico, that goes along with 3 of the songs from that EP. Then Ultraviolence, then Honeymoon, then Lust for Life, then possibly my favorite album of all time, which is Norman Fcking Rockwell! Yes that's the actual title name. Spelled correctly. (NfR), then Chemtrails over the Country Club, then Blue Banisters, then her latest, which is Did You Know That There a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. She has SO MANYYY incredible bodies of work. If you don't see yourself going for the absolutely worth while full journey, at least listen to Black Beauty, Shades of Cool, Honeymoon, Change, Get Free, Yosemite, Old Money, Bel Air, West Coast, Off to the Races, God Knows I Tried, Cinnamon Girl, When the World Was At War We Kept Dancing, 💃 there are so many incredibly beautiful pieces of art 🎨
@@dylancook8863 listen to first four songs you list ending 'change' all good. after 'honeymoon' a song 'ride' came on ,let it play. It made me think of a 'Pretenders' song " Hymn to her" Have heard of Lana Del Ray thought she was hip hop dance or rap ( typical old people thoughts) very surprised and impressed. Some of her music could be inserted into any decade from the 40's clubs on through to today. Will take a while going through your list, will do.
Never heard this Lana song before I have a bunch of her songs on my playlist like radio blue jeans quite a bit of others I'll have to add this thank your daughter for introducing me to another song I've been listening to l Dr for about 7 years so I haven't heard all of her song she has quiet album collection out there
The things she mentions in the chorus 'Limosine' 'Soft ice cream' are for a painting a picture of the times she had with this italian lover. Thats also why the song has some italian words. I see the song like Lana trying to convince this guy to stay, and with that almost witchy vibe the song has... Maybe sirencall Him to stay. I'm glad your Open to listen your daughter music, cute, and she has great music taste! hope to see more Lana reactions:)
Good job Shawn and nice selection Zoey! How about a band from Zoey's generation that you enjoy Shawn, "The Warning"? Maybe one when they were younger, like "Survive" from the 2017 TedX or for something more up to date, "Evolve" from the 2023 MTV performance. Thanks!
I love this song sm bc on one hand, it’s pretty nonsensical, like it doesnt really mean anything, but lana is so good at making something ridiculous sound so serious i have to stan 😂
I mean it's mostly her not taking her man seriously, hence the laugh at the beginning of the song. Like she's toying with him, and saying he's a boss and a king and yet she chooses ice cream over him. Kind of like a call back to "Music To Watch Boys To."
Please do other songs by her, this is a really good song of hers but i think you should always start with a song from Born To Die, loved the vid keep going!
I am maybe twice as old as your dad and I just love Lana's music so much. So the age does not matter at all! I hope that you react all her albums in the future, please!🙏
I caught myself swaying to this song as I was watching the reaction. Never heard any of Lana's work, but I might hafta give it a shot. Thanks Zoey and Shawn 👍🏻
Lana Del Rey is old school and Dad doesn't know her. This is my first time hearing this beautiful song. Daughter is about the vocals and lyrics foremost. Enjoyed this video. Good job, guys!
Probably Summertime Sadness. That's the one that most people remember hearing back when it was released because it was everywhere. Then that dj came out with the remix that was played in every club and bar nonstop. Definitely not her best work. She doesn't set out to create radio bops (other than that one, and one other one, ironically named "Radio" 😅
She really knows music cus she chose the most underrated yet most beautiful song from Lana !

Nostalgia for things you've never even experienced that's the power of Lana Del Rey !
She's marvelous...!
Zoey has quite the voice! 🤗
A young lady with such perfect musical taste! Beautiful, beautiful and beautiful! 🩷
