Rottnest Island’s Quokkas Stole the Show on Our Trip

In this episode of our Half Lap of Australia, join us-Megan, Stuey, Evelyn, and Thea-as we explore some of Western Australia’s most iconic sights! From the dazzling pink waters of Hutt Lagoon to up-close encounters with Rottnest Island’s cutest locals-the Quokkas-this leg of our journey is filled with epic views and unforgettable experiences.
Day 40: We kicked things off with a visit to Hutt Lagoon, where the bright pink hues of this saltwater lake left us in awe (just don’t swim or drink the water!). Afterward, we stopped in Geraldton for some playtime before heading to Cervantes for a night of beach camping.
Day 41: Waking up to stunning beachfront views in Cervantes, we set out to explore the mystical Pinnacles Desert, a landscape scattered with ancient rock formations. Unfortunately, the wind was too strong at the Lancelin Sand Dunes for sandboarding, but we still managed to have a great time relaxing by the pool with cocktails and mocktails after arriving in Perth!
Day 42: The day we’ve all been waiting for-meeting the famous Quokkas on Rottnest Island! This day trip was a dream come true, from taking selfies with the cheeky animals to swimming at The Basin and soaking in the breathtaking views at Pinky Beach with Bathurst Lighthouse in the background. It felt like we had been transported to the Mediterranean! Safe to say, we’ll be back to explore more of this stunning island.
Day 43: Before leaving Perth, we took a morning stroll along the iconic Cottesloe Beach-definitely one of Perth’s top attractions!
