I grow winged bean every year and have been eating its young bean pods. Usually I start winged bean in summer time. Due to long day light and high temperature, winged bean grow very vivid vines but no fruiting at the first two months. One day, I decided to give winged bean young leaves a try since they grow so well. I was amazed its delicious flavor and nice fragrance, which I hadn’t seen any other vegetables have. I even regretted that I had it all the time but did not try it early.
Winged bean is very nutritious. Its young bean pods and leaves contains rich vitamins and minerals which way higher than any other vegetables.

In another video you teach us you prune winged bean vines as for long beans. Cut the tip off the top and the tips of the side shoots after two or three leaves. If we prune the winged bean ines like this where do you take the young shoots from? Do you just grow one or two plants just for the shoots? Thanks!

As a child, this was my kryptonite. My parents love this dish, prepped simply with onion and garlic. As an adult, I have come to relish it. It can be prepped with chicken, pork or beef. The raw leaves are hardly ever sold at asians stores. Most of the time, the leaves came fresh from our garden. People often ask what it tastes like. I would compare it to spinach but more stringy.

Please tell me that the long bean leaves are edible or not? Have you tried to cook them as you cooked these winged bean young leaves?
