I’m quite happy for them to take a new direction with the story and reboot the game to be honest. Original was goated but Zero wasn’t particularly well received (at least from memory) so maybe a fresh start will be worth it. It’s interesting that Carrington is the bad guy in this, unless the start with Jo working for DataDyne but eventually switching sides I know it’s not much of a thing anymore and I’m not getting my hopes up but I’d love it if they still give us some multiplayer fun, including some goofy/high tech guns with interesting abilities like they did in the original.

After watching this Showcase, it made me genuinely think about all the people on Twitter who mock Game Pass & claim it's a low value "rental service." We are the CONSUMER, not employees crunching numbers. How is this bad value? I can still buy games, and in fact, they're 20% off with Game Pass. But if not, I still get to play all these major releases day 1 without having to spend $70 every single time! I have a massive Steam library, yet I've only gone back & played a couple of the single player games after I've beaten them. They're digital, so it's not like they have resale value, so what do I get for "owning" them? Hell, there are a couple dozen games I bought that I never ended up playing at all! So what does it matter to me if a GP games leaves after a year? If I've already beaten them, I'm not going back to it anyway. If I really like it, I'll buy it for 20% off. The 1st party games stay around anyway. And the biggest benefit of all is the game discovery & trying out many games I'd normally never buy (or buy on sale & never get around to playing). At least with GP, if I install them & don't play I'm not losing more money. I dunno, it just seems so dumb to me to be against having this option. I have zero XB consoles, but I'm going to stay subbed for all the games coming (and Octopath Traveler 2 right now) 😅
My thoughts exactly; like i get not knowing Gears lore cause tbh i dont really know it all that well myself, but even with my cursory knowledge, i knew E Day was the literal start of the war in Gears of War lol

Most excited for Expedition 33 and South of Midnight. I know I'm probably one of the few looking forward to the latter but I'm totally vibing with the Southern Folklore and animation style
The original Perfect Dark was an espionage/spy THEME. But it was more like.... "the enemy can't rat you out if they're dead!" kinda of FPS. It was like 90% a run & gun shooter.
Only if you played it like that. There were tons of missions where you could play relatively pacifist, using a cam spy or blowing up a car to distract guards and sneak past, etc.
so you never played it on higher difficulties then? because at higher ones, if you don't play on easy, you can easily fail mission objectives and have to restart the entire mission if you just run and gun.
Perfect Dark is going to have a VERY interesting dev story, I swear the speed and more importantly animations for the parkour mechanics seem almost 1:1 out of Mirror's Edge
Big question for the Gears game is whether this is "just a prequel", or if it represents the first title in the Coalition attempting to essentially reboot Gears of War and make some larger changes/modernizations. I hoped they would do that after Gears 6 finished the current storyline, but apparently they're just skipping that step completely.
You can really tell that they have a bunch of mirrors edge developers working on the perfect dark remake so many of the animations are straight from them it almost feels like it’s the mirrors edge game I’ve always wanted.
i'm so excited for Doom and Fable! Sound of Midnight looks good too and Expedition 33 looks pretty interesting, glad that's coming to game pass so i can try it to see if i like it or not.
South of midnight is on DEI detected cause SBI worked on it. Hopefully they changed all of the wierd stuff SBI put in because of the bad reputation that SBI has.
South of Midnight reminds me of the style they did from Prince of Perisa 08 especially after the boss finish and the flowers grow in in which I really liked that game regardless of most who didn't so this will be on my list with gears of war, doom, expedition 33, and life is strange
I'm hyped for more Dragon Age but... This game spent so much time in dev purgatory AND the whole problem of having nothing left from old Bioware... The 2 last games Bioware made were Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem...
I hope to god Fable is good. Every showing of this game gets me more and more interested. Especially the soundtrack - the music featured in these trailers is superb.
Fable has graphics that rival Marvel 1943 and the ga.eplay they showed in the trailer was absolutely amazing. I'm hoping we can create our own protagonist tbh or at least choose the gender but if not, I'm still gonna buy it day one cause it looks amazing. For a dev that only did the Forza Horizon game, they have outdone themselves when it came to Fable.

Xbox was absolutely not fucking around this year, holy hell. Not only was the average quality of the games shown exceptionally good, they didn't water it down with a bunch of gum-flapping talking heads except for a couple a small breaks. It was just game after game after game after game after game, which is the way it always should be. Well done, Microsoft; this was easily the best of all the three major presentations.
Just based on Xbox's track record the past couple months, I was expecting this showcase to be completely trash. But like damn, so many of these games make me wanna get game pass. A quick google will answer everything for you
@@darthcerebus Alright, got confused by that comment from Max.
Is it weird that I will just play any game that Ben Starr is involved with?
no. ben starr is amazing
After watching this Showcase, it made me genuinely think about all the people on Twitter who mock Game Pass & claim it's a low value "rental service."
We are the CONSUMER, not employees crunching numbers.
I have zero XB consoles, but I'm going to stay subbed for all the games coming (and Octopath Traveler 2 right now) 😅
Was super excited to see Perfect Dark shown. Ive been waiting to see more about this game for ages and it looks great.
Bro saved her life and she literally just let him die "I didn't know you well, but I'll keep your memory alive".
💀
Fable looked increbile. My most anticipated game now after GTA6.
Perfect Dark is my second fav game of all time.
The amount of reactors that confused gears prequel for a remake is concerning lol
My thoughts exactly; like i get not knowing Gears lore cause tbh i dont really know it all that well myself, but even with my cursory knowledge, i knew E Day was the literal start of the war in Gears of War lol
@@SunflowerLotusXIIyeah, and gears one got a remaster a few years back already, them going all in on a full remake doesn’t even make sense.
I honestly had no idea if it was a remake, a prequel, or a sequel. Never played nor cared about Gears
Is everyone supposed to know Gears of war or something?
@@jairekambui7738 no but like c’mon, a remake as their final reveal? And it’s not even called a remake, the title is literally gears of war E-day, you can apply some critical thinking to at least guess that it’s a sequel or prequel.
The Indiana Jones game just looks like the movie we should have gotten
Dial of Destiny was actually quite good and so was Crystal Skull. Go back and watch both with not hater eyes. They're quite enjoyable films.
I watched crystal skull a few months ago and it still isn't good.@@applejuicejunkie316
@@applejuicejunkie316yeah no crystal skull isnt good
It’s not “technically” a prequel.
It literally is a prequel.
best xbox showcase maybe ever. largely in part to Gears developers listening to the fans. The new Doom looks sick too and I haven't been this excited for Fable in eons, hopefully it delivers! good show 👌
Most excited for Expedition 33 and South of Midnight. I know I'm probably one of the few looking forward to the latter but I'm totally vibing with the Southern Folklore and animation style
Those were my top 2 as well :)
Less James Bond, more xXx
@@kevboard Do people need to? I'm pretty sure people play games to have fun not to be difficult (unless it is one that is supposed to be)
Wasn't expecting to hear Super Hans in an Xbox Showcase at 43:34 but there we go.
Perfect Dark is going to have a VERY interesting dev story, I swear the speed and more importantly animations for the parkour mechanics seem almost 1:1 out of Mirror's Edge
39:13 I have a 'vessel of hatred' for Matt Booty after those layoffs
I love how as a Diablo player, the title "Vessel of Hatred" makes sense, but sometimes games out of context are strange and funny 😅
I was thinking the same thing lol.
Same. The title is completely fitting and makes perfect sense, but without context it just sounds lame af. Like a shitty deathcore band or something.
I can't wait to watch an 8 hour TH-cam upload of the cinematics from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
I wish Max would play DOOM Eternal 2 DLC, he doesn't know that the ending of the Slayer
Arguably the best conference ever across every platform. Very strong 9/10
Max went from riffing on the name to silently crapping himself with that diablo trailer.
Daaaam it feels good to be an XBOX fan!🎉
i'm so excited for Doom and Fable!
Such a banger showcase! One of my favs
I was really hoping we'd get a Quake reboot. Ripping and tearing is fun, but Quake has always been where it's at for me.
South of Midnight reminds me of the style they did from Prince of Perisa 08 especially after the boss finish and the flowers grow in in which I really liked that game regardless of most who didn't so this will be on my list with gears of war, doom, expedition 33, and life is strange
Gears E-Day is a prequel
Super excited for Indy and Doom. Perfect Edge also looks interesting.
I'm hyped for more Dragon Age but... This game spent so much time in dev purgatory AND the whole problem of having nothing left from old Bioware...
The 2 last games Bioware made were Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem...
Could also be a good thing. “BioWare magic” originated with them after all.
New DOOM is looking sick as hell ❤
I hope to god Fable is good. Every showing of this game gets me more and more interested. Especially the soundtrack - the music featured in these trailers is superb.
Fable has graphics that rival Marvel 1943 and the ga.eplay they showed in the trailer was absolutely amazing. I'm hoping we can create our own protagonist tbh or at least choose the gender but if not, I'm still gonna buy it day one cause it looks amazing. For a dev that only did the Forza Horizon game, they have outdone themselves when it came to Fable.
*Max* : 32:46 : No "Games Games Games Passion Passion TV Passion TV Games"
*Microsoft* : (After holding their breath for 1 hour, 11 minutes and 2 seconds) : 1:11:02
Somebody better get Bedman, because I found a circle
Xbox ain’t dropped the dong on the table like this in years
They have Doom Guy with a Chain shield riding a dragon while using the skulls of his enemies as ammo.
I am going to be getting this without a single doubt
More like sawblade shield instead of chain shield
Expedition 33, Doom, that new mecha game, and gears prequel look awesome so far.
Expedition 33 is my favorite surprise, a dope looking turn based that is not a 8bits or anime looks fire🔥
Definitely getting that South of Midnight!!! 🔥🔥🔥
That’s was great !!! 9/10 all I needed was a Crysis 4 trailer !
Best showcase / gaming event in years. I’m excited for most of the games shown
I think Perfect Dark looks interesting
17:48 Awesome that Ben Starr's getting more voice roles, he's such an amazing actor.
Gears E-Day is a prequel before gear 1
LOL for some reason the juice box delightfully unexpected.
As a ps5 user, that was an awesome showcase
As a PlayStation 5 owner I was surprised 😮 Xbox finally has games.
Gears E-Day is not a Gears 1 remake. It's it's own game
It's not a gears of war 1 remake it's a true prequel
What a conference 10/10
Expedition 33 gave me mad lost odyssey vibes with the battle system going from turn based menus to timing attacks.
Definitely what I was thinking, yeah
Xbox was absolutely not fucking around this year, holy hell. Not only was the average quality of the games shown exceptionally good, they didn't water it down with a bunch of gum-flapping talking heads except for a couple a small breaks. It was just game after game after game after game after game, which is the way it always should be.
Well done, Microsoft; this was easily the best of all the three major presentations.
expedition 33 looks hype, reminded me of legends of dragoon with the quick time event thing during attacks.
That 1 game Max said has a Spider-Verse look to it makes me think they were going for a clay stop-motion feel.
Doom, DOOM, doom the big heavy hitter although it does hit a lot different from the rest for sure.
This is what we need more of
DOOM looks so good, can't wait for the bullet hell
Just based on Xbox's track record the past couple months, I was expecting this showcase to be completely trash. But like damn, so many of these games make me wanna get game pass. Expedition 33, Flintlock, South Of Midnight, Perfect Dark. They really needed to slam dunk this and they're really nailing it
It's a prequel not a remake
