I love your videos MOG I sometimes watch your videos to lift my spirits, you're intelligent and very informative and quite instrumental in my 3 months orchid training - yes I went to school on your channel. However you're also very true to yourself and quite encouraging and uplifting. Take care
My black catasetum is putting out 10 buds right now (2 bulb, 1 year of care) it’s also dropped a couple leaves. Thanks for confirming generally normal. Also dealing with mite headaches elsewhere 😌
I am so grateful and inspired by your videos. I live in NY. Never thought I could actually nurture one. Now I am learning to help them grow and hopefully thrive!
Hi Dany Congratulation for your new catasetum. I am also living in Cyprus and my catasetums are worse than yours. Because of hot climate insects are everywhere. They don’t have hard winter to reduce their population. We have many type of mealy bugs trips many kind of spider mites and a lot of scale 😬 Also I had a weird marks on the leaf and lost few catasetum because of tomato white mold (agriculture guy told me that when I showed damage on the leaf). Soo good luck every time I lost catasetum I say to my self this was last you have no chance in this island with catasetums than I buy new ones I can’t resist them 🙈 Soo good luck to both maybe one day it’s work🙏🙏
Omg, our Wine Delights have the same size spike! How cool is that considering we are in completely different parts of the world. I’m having the worst spider mite problem however and mine has dropped two leaves as a result. But your solution has helped 😊 I’ve used it all summer!! Thanks for sharing and have an awesome day!
Yes, the fragrance is amazing, pharmaceutical and quite addictive, strangely. I discovered catasetums last year with the Wine Delight and I am a fan since.
Hi Danny. I hope all is well on you. Again, thanks for sharing helpful tips on growing and taking care of different kinds of orchids. If I may ask though, do you have any suggestions on how to repot a Dendrobium orchid which was originally potted on a very compacted coconut husk? Thanks in advance and stay safe ❤
Hi, sadly we don't have this kind of stuff easily available in my region, if at all. Last time I went on a wild goose hunt after beneficial insects to try, I ended up in a different city, at a building undergoing renovation, with no trace of the Instagram store someone found in my country 🤣 so yea no, there's no market for it, no one is interested on a large enough scale so no one brings such things 🥺
Maybe there could be companion plant that these pests don’t like that you could put next to the orchids ? I know there’s some plants pests dont like but I’m not sure if it would work 😂
Orquideas fantásticas! Você é pura simpatia! Você comercializa ou pode me indicar um site que venda para me indicar. Estou em busca para adquirir uma muda de phalaenopsis MINI MARK. Obrigada.
Hi Danny, thank you for your video. Did you confirm that your mmm witchcraft mutation was because of the fertilizer? Was it the actual same plant that had a mutation and eventually bloomed properly? I have had one for about two years giving me multiple mutated spikes. Going to withhold slow release next year. Any advice welcomed, would love to see it bloom properly. Thank you.
Lol, my pharmacies all just smell like industrial disinfectant, and I've never seen a plant in one. Yours sounds like a health-centric candy store! Jealous! I could dig a pharmacy with *atmosphere*.

Great progress. Have you ever thought about getting healthy bugs like lacewings for your grow room?

About to have another female spike on my Orchidglade Jack of Diamonds. Well, correction, with female blooms wouldnt that make it Jill of Diamonds? 😅
What is the oil you use to get rid of the thrips?

Danny, when you say oily solutions for mites, is it like Neem oil? I don’t want to use something unsafe on my growing orchid collection.
Hi, not neem oil, mineral oil. I have a video about my recipe, check it out th-cam.com/video/mYV2sdlvt-Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mpLzg_GMCJlFFN61

Myth or Truth? Orchids with pseudobulbs like to dry completely whereas ones without don't like to dry completely.
Myth or truth? It's important to do preventative spraying for disease and insects.
