Your various clips remind me of boys from Govan, of roughly the same age, in Bellahouston Park kicking the living daylights out of each other in many impromptu 'fitba' matches (jumpers put down for goalposts). There was never a Referee so it was brutal and many legs, ankles, ribs, etc were broken alongwith many faces cut n smashed and disfigured. However, when it was tea time we all went home, then next day after school, it'd be a repeat performance night after night. They were formative times in shaping character. Those were the days!
Thanks. I was knicknamed 'Crusher' (playing usually at Centre Half) and known for crushing mainly feet. We wore our teams colours. Everybody was either Celtic or Rangers. So it was like an Old Firm Derby almost every night! Surprisingly, I have only 3 scars on my head and a broken nose ... but I have both ears, both eyes, all my teeth, 2 arms, 2 legs, all my fingers and toes! Think I was one of the lucky ones, LOL. Can't honestly say how the other lads ended up. Certainly not 'Pretty Boys'. LOL. Cheers.
Cheers Jeremy! An Old Firm is a well worthy inclusion on that bucket list mate, even a relatively tame one is unlike anything else in British football. You'll love it! River vs Boca is the one at the top of mine.
I was in my early 20s when I attended the infamous October '87 game. I was born in London but my parents are both from Glasgow and I was with my Rangers-supporting cousins at the game. It was pretty frenetic but surprisingly most of the violence was confined to the pitch. Interesting video, my friend. I have moved on considerably since then, now living in the Far East, but the nostalgia is quite invigorating.
Tell me about it brother! Was floored for near enough all of January, hence the delay. Instead of having one 100% finished, I have 2 videos sitting at the 75% mark so should have a couple pretty quick together for you my man.

As a football player, I view the old firm derby one of the best rivalries of all time. It adds with my love to hockey as well as to how sports aren’t just about scoring points but makes you learn how to be a man with balls of steel against people trying to beef with you.
Went to uni in Glasgow Sep 1987 - (reason Rangers or only place that would take me?) Oct 87 game, such legend and I was there - Goughies first home game, not many know that....
Celtic or Rangers we can all agree the good memories of watching these battles on the pitch whether you win, lose or draw looking back you can have a chuckle you might not of been having at the time 😂
These guys all know the score, they are encouraged and get a massive bonus for going a bit Hollywood. Just like WWF ... makes great telly but without the foam fingers. Lennon and Barry Ferguson were always exchanging tips on pulling the best DeNiro faces Bet any money they all go for a Chinese after the game and discuss special moves and how to roll with minimum grass stain to the shorts. All panto pal...the whole world is panto. Name of the game
This can’t be true…I keep hearing how Celtic have never ever experienced anything like the Atletico Madrid European Cup game in 1974… 🙄🙄🙄 These are all a million times worse.
Some of the best players in the world have played (long spells) at both these clubs. I don't think we will ever see as much aggression like we have in the last 20-30 years. This is definitely one of the bitterest rivalries in sport. It's different now after Gerrard and Rodgers.
I don’t disagree, 2019 had a couple of needley fixtures but even then compared to how it used to be they’re tame. More away fans the answer for you my man?
@@Top10Rangers That could be a factor. I don't think there has been many volatile characters lately either and now we have VAR which may have a further calming effect. Having said that we'll probably have five red cards in the next OF game.

As well as a sinus problem, this voice- over has the unfortunate and affected determination to swallow all ‘T’ sounds. Surely it is advisable to pronounce all consonants when recording vocals?
Love the games were the good guys in blue win. However some of the dirty tackles from the green and white team was awful. My favourite was the 2 all draw with only 9 men coming back from 2 nil down. Mon the Gers
I'm a celtic fan, you never mentioned the Rangers destroying a worldwide highlight by breaking their continuity as a club, so, no more "OldFirm", just saying.
Because through modern eyes its quite funny mate I've grown up with half the Rangers team crossing themselves stepping onto the pitch so the idea that folk would get wound up by it is kind of amusing.
All the ref's fault. If he dad booked McCavennie for his first foul on Woods, none of the chaos tht followed would have happened. Ian Durrant came of age that day.
I saw dozens of Old Firm games in the days there was such a thing but I can honestly say that Graeme Souness injected into the fixture a level of vitriol and hatred that far surpassed anything that had gone before in my lifetime. It remains so today, though the club he played for and managed is long dead. His mediocre managerial career ended in scandal and disgrace but for some reason he is still given a platform to air absurd views where he claims the likes of Arsene Wenger and Ange Postecoglu are merely lucky. LMAO! He is an embarrassment.
Never understood why it was called the "old firm shame game" Rangers played football and won, celtic players and fans lost the plot and over £100 in coins thown on the pitch
I'm a Celtic man, but have high regard for your excellent and honest views. Be well, man.

Souness was there during the EBT years …then the old firm died in 2012 the match is now known as the Glasgow derby.
No he wasn’t Souness left Rangers in 1991 and the EBT’s started in 2000.
