Excellent work. So nice to see a tree trimmed the proper way and not butchered and topped. You take great pride in your work.

    Great work.👍
What season to trim tree. The mesquite tree is got yellow pollen on it. Do i wait for it all to fall off.

It will be a good idea when the pollen is not on the tree as it will be an unpleasant experience breathing.
The mesquite trees are semi dormant in certain areas and it’s better to prune when the tree is dormant. Best to prune in the winter time. In spring time and fall is okay for some light pruning. Don’t make heavy pruning in summer or you may get sunburn on some branches that are in the center of the tree.

Very informative; the tree's in southern California seems to have lots of Thorn reAl Long spikes, almost have to go get a stainless steel
    Gloves

😂 Yeah, you get steel gloves or steel hands, whatever’s easier!! My arms are practically steel (and numb) from all my years. 🤣
When working in mesquite trees, don’t be afraid. Be BRAVE!

Mesquite trees, by nature, are adapted in a. Dry desert environment. Do you live in a humid area or high altitude with a lot of precipitation or rain? If that’s the case you need to give good drainage to the tree. Water shouldn’t stand around the root of the tree. Use gravity or pipes to remove excess water away from the root system of the tree. Remove all the dead material, cutting at the ridge of the branch. Every time you make a cut be sure it’s done at the ridge. Submerge the clippers in a solution of 2% of chlorine or alcohol to prevent fungus to spread from one contaminated branch to the healthy branches. Look for root rot pesticide or product to prevent future damage for the root of the tree to prevent fungus. Use package instructions or ask an expert at a local nursery. Go to an agricultural place instead of Home Depot so you can talk to someone who can recommend you the right product and may know a little more.
