Hi I had my nipple removed for a breast surgery. I am producing milk, but having a hard time latching, pain and sensitivity. This is my third baby and exclusively breast fed them. I’m trying not to get discouraged and give up. Any tips? This has been a great video and is helping me to feel a little bit of hope which I really need right now. Thanks for asking! I'm glad to hear the video helped. I would try 2 things. First is a lot of massage around the nipple and the areola to make sure the tissue is soft. If it is tight it will make it harder to latch. Second, try a nipple shield. The nipple shield will give the baby more surface to latch to. Now, the trick with a nipple shield is you need to make sure the baby transfers milk, so monitor pees and poops. Second, you need to make sure you are getting enough sensation so you may have to pump. Good luck!
