If you look at what you get, the extra above and beyond service, and the fact that you don't have to spend a penny when on board and still eat like a king, it's well worth the price.
honestly, the service makes it worth it as well. and the disney cruise line (as opposed to carnival and royal caribbean and all the other big boys) is one of the only cruise lines of it's age that has yet to have a major safety incident involving one of it's ships. i think it's probably a combination of being built very well (they build less ships overall, but the ones they have tend to be safer than the ones mass--produced by carnival and rcc) and the fact that their crews just tend to be safer and more attentive. cunard is very safe as well although it's definitely one of the oldest cruise lines and obviously had "incidents" early on, so saying that it has never had an incident would be untrue. but it's been very rare in modern times.
It also the same price pretty much to go on that disney ship as it is to go one that royal Caribbean ship

Dream class ships have a whole panel on the bridge with those “horn” or “whistle” tunes. When a ship leaves, capt. Tom would usually ask a deck cadet to play them all and show off. That panel is programmable and when in NYC for the christening, Feb-Mar 2012, we played NewYork-New York. Those tunes are actually played back by giant amplifiers, not horns. Cool fact is that beforehand guests have to be advised they are about to be used.
It's a pretty intricate speaker system I am told? Also, I recently heard you guy toot the Jurassic Park theme. It was pretty epic!
Fix the amplifiers not as loud as they use to be, also should add the marvel theme to dream or fantasy if it does marvel cruises in the future, do you work for Disney Cruise line?

Fantasy: How many notes do you have?

Actually, the most fun horn to play with is the horn of a naval destroyer. Every time we got to do tests on those on my first ship (before I struck gunner's mate and when I was but a wee seaman), I would gleefully reach up from my position on the helm and yank that red lever down with all me might.
I actually wonder how would a navy destroyer's horns would sound like as the only one I've witnessed is from the battleship USS New Jersey and an aircraft carrier.
