  • Hey, I bought this car after I arrived to US. It wasn't in the best shape when I bought it, but this video shows the result of my 2 months long work on it. As a student I had a very limited budget, and absence of any tools made it even worse, but eventually I made it a pretty decent car! You can check the timelapse of my work in the previous video.

    Looks like you've put some good effort into keeping it clean and restoring with a few personal touches, I'd say it's perfect

    Could you make a video on how to connect a new sound system to this car? and how to give surgery to all the plastic covers?

      I have one! No cracks and everything. I have bought second the same Celica just for parts. I took transmission from it. If you can come to Mississippi you are welcome to have the dash.

    Hey great vid you know your way around the car. I'm not sure how to take the back bumper off is there any way you can tell me how? Is there bolts inside the car I need to remove also?

    • @NickyChicks
      @NickyChicks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! As far as I remember you have to take off that stripe of metal between bumper and taillights. It covers the bolts of the bumper. And the bolts of that metal piece are in the trunk, yes.

    I love the paint job man it’s so clean! How did you do it?

    • @NickyChicks
      @NickyChicks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I specifically bought the matte paint, so that less flaws of my paint job would be seen😂 anyway, the trick is not to hurry and put really thin layers (but a lot of them)

    How to you remove the old stereo

    • @NickyChicks
      @NickyChicks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just pull the plastic cover around the stereo out (it just clicks in, nothing holds it as far as I remember) and you"ll see all the screws

    Someone is selling a 1990 toyota celica for 1,000. It's Auto tho, is it worth it?

    • @NickyChicks
      @NickyChicks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well if it's GTS (it has rear disk brakes and wider more stylish looks with 2.2 engine that's cheap to maintain since it's used in camrys) then yes. also depending on the condition... Idk, I bought this one on the video for $1500, but the automatic just broke without any reason. It wasn't kicking, it was smooth, I replaced oil and thought it's in great condition but then it feels like it went to neutral, when I was cruising down the highway and never worked again. I checked the shifter, the selector on the trans, checked that no metal parts were in oil, checked solenoids, but nothing worked. Since then I hate any automatic car... But probably I will have better experience with it. I think that cruise control broke my trans somehow, so if you buy the car, don't use it. Cause before breaking it was going nuts from time to time, reving the engine while cruising for no reason.

      @@NickyChicks ahh okayy, thanks for the heads-up, I recently got into cars and idk much about them lol, and yeah the one he is selling has "GT" on the back. And miles are pretty low on it

    • @NickyChicks
      @NickyChicks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Chris-yi9dp if it's actually low mileage, I guess it does worth it ;) but an old cars is an old car: you will have to start learning more about cars and how to fix them hah.

      Hi! Thx for comments. I did actually put manual transmission instead of automatic this spring. There are some new modifications I also did like new rims, tinted side windows etc. I need to make a new vid :D

    • @yanglue611
      @yanglue611 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know right. The automatic transmission does have the tendency to lag in power in higher mileages. I used to own one till my dad decided to give up on it. Very minimal rust, but it was chewed on by rats. So it made it very difficult to repair the car.
