The Official TH-cam channel of ex Crystal Palace, Arsenal & England striker Ian Wright.
From growing up in South London to the multiple unsuccessful trials and plans to give up playing, I signed my first professional contract with Crystal Palace a few months before my 22nd birthday. In 1991 I signed for Arsenal Football Club where I scored 185 goals in 288 appearances. I went on to play 581 league games, scoring 387 goals for seven clubs in England and Scotland, earning 33 caps for the English national team.
I am now fortunate enough to have a football broadcast career working for the BBC & ITV.
    Some Career Achievements:
185 goals in 288 appearances for Arsenal (2nd all time leading goal scorer)
117 goals in 253 starts for Crystal Palace (leading post war goal scorer)
33 caps for England Men’s National Team
    Premier League Winner (Arsenal): 97/98
Premier League Golden Boot (Arsenal): 91/92
    FA Cup (Arsenal) : 92/93, 97/98
European Cup Winners' Cup (Arsenal): 93/94

I was raised in Brixton, went to my first palace game and saw Ian just before he moved to arsenal. I became an Arsenal fan because of him. He has always been my footballing hero and an inspiration, I felt comfortable going to games when I saw him and David on the pitch, I felt represented and included as a supporter. Now I watch him and his legacy and feel nothing but pride in who he is, and how he operates within his family. This man is just a great role model.

Hi Ian. Just watched Nothing To Something. I knew NOTHING about you except for your football career. I just want to give you a damn hug and say congratulations! You could've turned out to be waaay on the other side. What a strong personality you are, a great father, friend and human being. You remind me a LOT of my father. Also, i need to know where you got that camo jacket from :-). Cheers from Houston, TX

Ian Wright - what a hero! - Loved him at Arsenal back in the day (when they were good)! Apples didn't fall far from the tree. Good luck to D’Margio, hope he gets what he deserves. So sad to think that he could be racially abused for playing football. We haven't come far enough in 3 generations.

I look at anything that has the name Ian Wright attached. When we in the Caribbean started getting English football on tv in the '80s, we felt a sense of pride when the black players did well. I grew up on Crooks, Regis, Cunningham, Batson, Fashnau, and Viv Anderson. But Crystal Palace's Ian Wright was my man. Ruthless finisher and joy on the field. In Trinidad, we use the phrase " bound-to-score " to describe a serial net buster like yourself. I was'nt a Gunners fan in the least, but I had to travel with my player. Thanks for the memories bro and also proud of ur bloodline, champ. Big up!

What an awesome relationship and bond between the Wrights. From the conversation between Ian and Philips you can feel the beautifully well nurtured friendship between father and son. Why is this not even a reality TV Show. Amazing family.
