Another good video Steven - thanks. I was there! Fantastic performance! One of the best in my over 60 years of watching Palace. I predicted 2 - 0; this was much better! Really looking forward to next season if we can keep the team together.
Calm down, Villa were on the beach and missing 12 players through injury. Martinez, Cash, Mings, Torres, Moreno,, Tieiemans, Kamara, Ramsey, Zaniolo, Rogers, Buendia and Bailey.
What an end to the season. And thanks for all your videos Steven, youve done a great job. Looking forward to all the transfer gossip in the summer. Lets hope we keep all the star players 😀⚽️🥅🦅
Villa fans will have you believe they let us win because there was a lack of first team players injuries etc etc. If thats the case they are going to suffer next season in the Champions League as they obviously have no depth. The bottom line is Palace played very well and have done since Glasner came in, and the recent run of form is due to good football and mangament. The proof is there now, because Palace have 4 players potentially playing in the Euros; the most outside the the top 6. As for the game, a great last day and look forward to next season. Thanks Steven for providing somewhere for me/us to share our thoughts, you have done a great job.
I think the icing on the cake after the win over Villa, was finishing higher than Brighton. Btw thanks for all the great videos. Will be watching the FA cup final. Would be nice if utd could win then I will get a very happy wife.
Good to see palace fans happy with their new manager & his style of football after watching dross for a long time, Glassner has turned things around & the future looks bright, but i wouldn't read too much into this one off game against a Villa side missing 12 key players & nothing to lose/gain however this match panned out. A deserved win though & i think your fans do themselves proud making plenty of noise, best in London for me,but can you hold on to your best players? & Perform over a 38 game season consistently?,good luck!!..... up the mighty Villa!!! 😊
Really great comment about JP, Steven. He seems to be like a wonderful teammate and all reports seem to be that he is an outstanding presence in the dressing room and always has been. I'd love to see him at Palace next season.
I'm still astonished we scored so many. Second goal looked like a Foden to Haaland goal. Eze was exquisite. Felt for Olise that he couldn't quite hit the target. Maybe he's had enough of the phone calls in the middle of the night. Glasner's method I think puts him in the top 4 managers in the Premier League. Possibly top 3, now Klopp has departed. He actually knows what he's doing!! I think the players know that he knows and that is part of the new confidence. I think Glasner has changed the entire training regime to work with the new style of play.
Hi Steve l have been a palace fan since 1968 l have seen all the ups and downs. I have to pinch myself now as l feel like l have slipped into a parallel dimension lol well palace seem to be playing out of this world that's for sure. Thanks for your excellent content.
Adam Wharton is the reincarnation of Bobby Moore. The similarities in their style of play are amazing. Well done for all your broadcasts for the season Steven, I look forward to watching more in the coming one,😀❤💙💥👏👏
If we can keep at least 1 of Olise and Eze next season with Glasner will be strong. Mateta is proving to be OP. The whole tram cohesion is great. Plus U21 success and Women's as well
I think as a Villa fan you should enjoy your win and day in the sunshine, but we didn't really put a proper side out against you, and of course you can only play against what is put in front of you so you deserve to enjoy the victory. Good luck next season though, our villa fans had an immense time at your place by the looks of all the videos I've seen and no villa fans I've spoken to were bothered about the loss at all, it gave us chance too play lots of players who don't normally get game time.
Gotta be honest, I'm gobsmacked at the transformation. I'm shocked at how unfit the players were under Roy. I won't knock him, cos overall, I think he did a brilliant job for Palace. I think the manager and parish should sit down with your best players, and ask for at least one more season. See where it takes you. I think you could finish maybe 8th, or even conference league spot. You have the .likes of doucore and franca to come back. Johnstone too. Like having new players. And with a couple of additions, why not? I think I commented here, when Roy was manager, that I thought mateta looked capable of scoring goals, as I watch a lot of bundesliga. But not to how he's playing now. He's on fire. Before he looked like he was playing within himself. Probably the role he was asked to play. But now he looks like the shackles are off. He even looks to be running freer, and more confident. If glasner can get eduard to replicate a bit of his celtic form, he'll have a nice headache to have.
Villa did have a lot of decent players sidelined but I get the feeling we would have probably won the game anyway. We built up a rhythm & alongside the ever growing confidence & Villa being deflated & a bit tired through their European experiences. Both sides have great managers, much respect for Unai Emery. I think they missed Kamara as their holding midfielder towards the end of the season. But as I say, even if Villa had all their players fit, even Gordon Cowans & Dennis Mortimer, we still would've picked up those 3 points. I like the sound of the blackbirds singing in the background of your video by the way.
Hmm. So a full strength Villa, with something to play for would’ve definitely not won? 4th in the league some strange fluke? Think you’re getting a little bit carried away after a good end to the season, a bit like Brighton last year. Good luck in holding on to those players as well. We’ll see if you continue this form next season (in which case your manager will be poached) or we get the usual Palace we all love and know. Good luck next season though, except against us obviously. UTV
@@gmansid3576 Don't take it to heart man. I gave a lot of credit to Villa & their manager. But your recent form wasn't great, even when you were fielding a stronger team. But you're right, Villa didn't have anything to play for as Spurs couldn't catch them in the league etc.. It would of course be a tighter game if BOTH teams had a fully fit squad to choose from but what with the momentum Palace had built up I still think Villa wouldn't have won the game. Unless (perhaps) Palace were already on the beach at the end of the season & Villa HAD to win to reach the Champions League positions. Anyways, it's all conjecture mate. It did happen, Palace won 5 - 0 against a weakened Aston Villa. I'm sure that exact score won't happen again anytime soon. But for now us Palace fans will enjoy it.
Too bad this was the last time we will see this squad of players play together. The most exciting team to watch in the EPL the last couple of months. All we would need to challenge for Europe is a couple better players for depth and a touch of creativity able to come off the bench. But the big boys will see to it this team is disassembled.
Another good video Steven - thanks. I was there! Fantastic performance! One of the best in my over 60 years of watching Palace. I predicted 2 - 0; this was much better! Really looking forward to next season if we can keep the team together.
If by some miracle we can keep this team together I genuinely think we could get a European place next season
Calm down, Villa were on the beach and missing 12 players through injury. Martinez, Cash, Mings, Torres, Moreno,, Tieiemans, Kamara, Ramsey, Zaniolo, Rogers, Buendia and Bailey.
Many of these players are on the bench and others have been injured for a while...Villa has been winning matches without them
Have a great summer Steve. Look forward to seeing us in the states winning another trophy! ❤️💙🦅
Thank you Allan, you too.
Thanks Steven for the coverage of the season - it has been great!
Thank you 😊

Yes, that was certainly a lovely addition to a great day. Thank you I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Yeah, I agree. I think it's a real coup that we managed to get him.

Thank you Peter. It is something special at the moment.

Yes, it's a great all-around performance from the club.

A lot of Palace fans said Villa fans were some of the best at Selhurst Park this season. Good luck to you guys next season.

It is a huge turnaround. I'm hoping we can take this into next season and as you say, convince players to stay a little longer.
It was the perect day to be at Selhurst Park.
Villa did have a lot of decent players sidelined but I get the feeling we would have probably won the game anyway. We built up a rhythm & alongside the ever growing confidence & Villa being deflated & a bit tired through their European experiences.

do you think eze, olise, and mateta are going to stay?
I think Mateta and Eze might. Not sure about Olise.
Any word about the new stand? Any announcements?
Work is supposed to start this summer.

Sad to say. I hope we don't lose too many.
