- Enjoy the last kilometers of the Primitivo before the way joins with the Camino Frances in Melide. Walk the Camino Primitivo with us from Ferreira, through Melide, Arzua, Salceda, Monte de Gozo, and finally ending our journey in the Plaza Obradoiro.
We started the Camino Primitivo (Camino de Santiago) on May 8th, 2023. We made great time, walking from Oviedo to Santiago in 11 days.
This is our first time walking the Camino Primitivo. We hiked the Camino de Invierno in Winter 2023, the Camino del Norte in Summer 2019, and the Camino Frances in Fall 2017. We packed ultralight bags for all of our journeys.

Thank you both so much for sharing your primitive experience. I am walking this one with my son later this year, can't wait.
That's amazing. Buen Camino!
love your smiles!
Thank you!
You two are such a bubbly couple please never change thank you so much for bringing beautiful memories of the Primitivo 💞
Thank you so much!
It,s the end and the beginning another paths
It sure is! The Camino is always in our hearts.
Some lovely vids there, thanks for sharing. I picked a bad day to do Hospitalos I had already walked 14k before I got to it. around midday. Was beautiful at the top. I sat on that lovely soft grass for a while before I continued into wind and rain. For the first time (people think I am being over dramatic when I say this) as the next hill and the next and the next appeared in front of me, I got a little worried for my safety. It’s a long way up and the wind is cutting. I was the only one up there. I had only just missed all of those fires. On the lower levels the black tree s gave off very welcoming heat. I was so grateful at the end of that day to lay in my bunk. But it stays with you, it becomes part of you.
I only got as far as Lugo because I had to get back to work. I intend to complete it this year.
I see your point about the “Day Baggers” though because I have met them twice, once at the end of the French Route and again at the end of Northern Route. I have compassion for the disabled or elderly not being able to carry their backpacks. But all those other young people or passport Stampers, and “Let’s get the bus through the boring bits” or Sunday walkers are lazy and definitely missing out on the spiritual experiences brought about by exhaustion and shared experience.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like a very crazy Hospitales day. It's definitely one of the most memorable day on all Caminos.
We're big advocates of walking every step (if you are healthy and able).
Everyone experiences the camino their on way we shouldn't judge.
🎉 Excellent videos, and very realistic. Its so natural but tough for this 70 year old. Most beautiful of all my caminos done in 2022. Can't wait for the next one.....cheers Miki Goldie
Thanks so much. Buen Camino!
I don't understand why so many people, when two trails connect, think that one, usually the shorter one, ends and the other longer one begins. These trails simply from Melide follow the same way side by side.
Primitivo route, not ending in Melide but in Santiago de Compostela. And if anything, the french route ends in Melide, not the primitivo. The primitivo route was marked first and the french route later. What matters here is not which road is longer or which is followed by more people but which is older.
Another Camino in the bag. Congrats!! Looking forward to the next adventure....
Thanks so much!
Enhorabuena! Qué bonito es el Final del Camino!
Muchas gracias!

"High landscape value" is key. haha
I know!! Our new favorite thing to say.
All the feels! As a two time pilgrim. Buen Camino!

@@DaysWeSpend Very welcome! Love seeing people make it to Santiago!
beautiful place..
It really is!
Hey guys, I’m Zani…Peter’s friend 😊Was so great to meet you in person…love following you guys!
Hi Zani! We loved meeting you, too! ♥
I really enjoyed watching your Camino Primitivo series. I was supposed to walk it several years ago, and wasn't able to go for a bunch of reasons. I'm hoping to be able to do it after I retire, and then do the Camino Frances directly afterward, when my friend retires. He did the Primitivo already.
We're so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching them all. When you get to walk your Camino, it will be that much sweeter.
5:46 Oh man, we stayed in that exact room in Salceda probably 10 days after you. Our 9 year old son loved the foot pool there, as well as Johnny the dog!
Woah! That’s amazing. Wish we arrived early enough to enjoy the foot bath. Next time!
Passion without its struggles is meaningless. To life 🥃
Agreed!! Cheers!🍷

@@DaysWeSpend thanks, I checked their website as well. No joy, but I’ll keep an eye out.
when ya come of norte or primitvo onto frances, a major frustration kicks in
For sure. It can be tough to transition with the crowds.
Okay now I'm starting to not be able to read the name of these videos... "Camino Primitivo Ferrai Chevy El Camino" what are you talking about???
😂 Some of the Galician names are quite challenging.
45k is a BIG day! Congratulations on completing another Camino. What's next? Rest and recharge?
Oh, yeah that day was insane.
Thanks so much for watching and for the congrats! Editing all these videos was a good rest and recharge. We've got some nice time at our home in Spain to chill before our next huuuuuuuuge Camino.... :)
@@DaysWeSpend Have you already decided on the next one?
@@youngrc212 Yes, we've had this one planned for a few years. You'll find out all about it in August!
