@@eliwilson1146 Tbh I didn't like that there were pretty much no new ships in the sequel trilogy. This was a great video tribute to one of the most iconic ships in the Star Wars universe aside from the Millennium Falcon which is just as legendary going from a civilian freight hauler to a ship helping in the destruction of both Death Stars and Starkiller Base and the fall of both the Empire and the First Order just like both the T65 X-Wing and it's 2 descendants the T70 and T85 X-Wing Fighters.

@Don Bruno De La Mancha Honestly, one of the best reviews of this channel I've ever read. Well done! As an aside... After seeing a three quarter or full scale representation of the Incom T-65 B (Disneyland?) I wondered why some homebuilt aircraft designer never tried to build a flying model. At one point I considered trying to tackle the job myself. You'd not be able to open the S foils, as strange things happen to airflow when airfoils are in close proximity- as would be necessary in a strictly atmospheric craft. (I haven't seen P & W or Rolls-Royce offering ion drive engines for sale just yet). So it would make sense to create a single airfoil instead of two in an x configuration. You might be able to get away with a rudderless design using a combination of mixed lateral/pitch control devices, augmented by vectored thrust nozzles, but that means at least a twin engine design. I'm not sure where one would source turbojets small enough for the job. Anyway, after considering all these design hurdles, time, effort and $$ surely involved, I basically thought, "Nah. F*€k it. Too much work and I'd likely just kill myself".
Many people who saw StarWars back in 77' would probably say "don't change anything" but its 30 years later and majority demands that there be something that hasn't been done on screen. The T-70 X Wing Starfighter is a sleek and sexy prodigy to the Alliance fighter. (In my opinion, obviously) Truly an elegant craft in a more or less civilized age, its role serves as the cornerstone for fast assault fighters. Having been almost exactly replicated from original Ralph Macquarie concept art makes this ship: recognizable, iconic, and somewhat historic to the our people. Those could be shaped (basically) any way you like, and it is simpler to have two reverse engines look like one untill you split them, unlike the gyros they canonicly are. Admiral Raddus flagship!
t85 wing what's the difference and how many variations are there
Corbin Conway Im pretty sure we havent seen an official canon picture. It was only mentioned in the new canon books. Unless they showed up in the new canon comics which idk
While I enjoy the look of the new X-Wing, simply because it's Star Wars I find that...something is lost in translation from the 65B to the 70. It may just be my bias for the original works but the 65B had a certain presence that the 70 simply lacks.
is there a canon image of the T85 Xwing?
