I tried this and surprised how easy this is. I thought what else can I do, and then thought about a spider. BOOM! that got me thinking. I snipped the wings of the dragon fly creation, and then that made 8 legs. Then the white core of some previous paracord, I used as a web strand. This vid gave me the inspiration. Top marks dude!

Great little video. I made one using glow in the dark beads for eyes and in each wing tip. My grandson loved it.

Hey, JD, I eventually broke down and ordered some 450 from VTArmyNavy, and found it to be alot better than the stuff I had bought before. More colours, too. Anyways, thanks for mentioning the site, and putting all these vids up. I've learned a bunch.
Dude! Thank you for show me all these knot! I've been trying to make cool looking lightning bugs but the wings have been giving me hell.
And those who want to make lightning bugs just follow this video but just make it one set of wings and I use glow pony beads and leds light for the eyes and tail lol

Nifty. Could it perhaps be tied backwards in such a way that the free ends could end up coming out of the head and left long when singed to form two antennae?

If you can't find 450 paracord you can "cheat" by using 550 paracord by pulling the center cores out. Or as a last resort, go to Wal-Mart - they have crafting "paracord" that is smaller and costs $2 USD for 18' which isn't bad if you're just using it for a few small crafts but is quite expensive at almost $1 a foot and you can get 100' hanks for as low as $8.95 USD. But for emergencies, it's a quick and easy place to go.
I've made a number of J.D.'s knots using 550 paracord and didn't have a single problem with it. It may just be his personal preference, I've never really seen why he uses it and I have all of his knotting books. Might just be easier to handle on screen.

$9 for 100 ft? Where do you buy your cord from? Your getting ripped off big time! Thats to expensive, especially if it is for USA material! We sell ours for $6 for 100 ft. Our company purchases it all from the USA government contractor that is making it. We have over 900 different colors.
That was for 550 paracord and I was saying for emergency use only and that was 2 years ago - things have lowered significantly since then.
