agree, I was happy to replace my limited Samsung 21 Ultra. after just 2 years. Half of the price and almost same quality and tons of function Samsung always misses because the are not creative enough. The had to partner now with Google to get some innovations on their phones otherwise their hardware never improves. Watch that guy that takes phones apart, impressive what is inside that phone
Josh you did a phenomenal job on this one bro. I was like why is he doing a camera walkthrough in a room but then you came through with the photo and video samples. I’m really impressed by what this system can do especially given the price. Pro tip, the reason why we get jittery videos in lowlight is because the auto shutter speed is often lower than the frame rate you’re recording at to compensate for the lack of light. Going into pro mode and manually choosing the correct shutter speed fixes that issue greatly. Only Apple and maybe one other manufacturer gets night time video right in that regard. Waiting for the Vivo x100 Ultra and Sony Xperia 1 VI to be announced next week, but dang this is proof that this phone really is fully capable of every scenario it’s put in.
Excellent video, Josh. I particularly appreciate you showing how to access all the various modes and lenses, and the settings for each. I guess phone makers think that if you've been an Android user for awhile, you're just supposed to know how to access all this stuff; well, I didn't, and there were no instructions that came with the camera that explained how to do so. Really appreciate the effort you put into this video. As for the comments about the photo quality not being as good as other phones: it's very good for a walk-around device; I have professional photo equipment if I want to get serious about the photos. Thanks again.
You missed just 1 thing from the new camera update, when you press the x1 zoom it gives you 2 more in-sensor zoom and x3 zoom another in-sensor zoom. Great video, I'm really enjoying the camera of my OP12, i think it's one of the best cameras out there, especially after the updates, but sadly it still not recognized among a lot of youtubers but not you🤞 Edit: you should have tried the ultra stabilization feature to test it even if it's 1080p.😶🌫️
Thanks for all the OnePlus 12 reviews, I went with the flowy emerald model and so far I am loving it. I haven't had a OnePlus before this, just Samsung's, motos, and an iPhone one time (never again lol) but I think this route will be the way I go from now on as this phone has met and exceeded all my expectations in a phone and continues to do great. Anyways I just wanted to say thanks for the guidance to this phone, and keep up the great work!
I have both OP12 and S24U still dont know which 1 to pick. I love them both. But OP12 charging speed and battery life, ir blaster, aqua touch really spoil me. I did get the 512gb of S24U for $999 compared to the $700 with tradein on the Oneplus. So there's less of a price different. For me, the price is not important, but this video makes me lean toward the OP12.
So, 35 minutes and nothing about the portrait VIDEO mode? You just skipped right past it with no mention. Does it drop down to 1080p or does it do it in 4k? No idea, huh ....
I've been watching all the OP12 reviews on youtube while looking for a replacement for my disappointing Sony Xperia 1V. I primarily bought it for the 3.5mm headphone jack because I prefer wired headphones for calling and music. But there were many bugs like bluetooth not connecting to my car properly and the speakerphone not working and also the LED they chose for the flashlight is really dim...Probably a few other small issues I'm forgetting. Also the cameras, a major selling point, fell short as well as you can see by watching MKBHD's video "The Blind Smartphone Camera Test Winners" and the Xperia scored last place. I did like some things like the battery life, the jack and the side mounted fingerprint unlock button...But I decided to go back to USB-C adapters for headphones since my options for flagship Androids are limited on Verizon. I almost went with the S24+ or Pixel 8 Pro but I'm glad I discovered the OP12 first. Thanks to your reviews I'm confident the cameras on this phone will be more than adequate for my regular point & shooting or occasional social media video post. This is a phone I'm actually excited about and it's packed with features that actually seem cool vs the plain and uninspired competition. Thanks!
Thank you so much for making this video! I had been looking for a camera walkthrough on this phone for a while. Could you record a travel vlog with this phone to see how well it captures scenic views and subjects? I’m very interested in seeing that since I live in Brazil and want to see how well it can capture stunning photos and videos.

Anybody else who watch this Do you still think that the OnePlus camera is not good or is it excellent cuz for me it is an excellent, way beyond excellent thanks man for showing people the stuff OnePlus cameras can do it's a master camera
In the video samples, how are you switching the lenses that smoothly, i thought op12 had the slider, did it get an update for the switching between lenses with one touch like in the s24U?
Does the video skip recording for about 1 second while switching from rear camera to front camera and vice versa? It's very noticable on my S23 Ultra (you can hear a cut on the audio especially when you're talking)
What I don't understand, is that when recording in daylight, you could switch between the lenses at 4K60, but at the 4K60 night video, you couldn't switch?
some of the function like long exposure don't really work well. took the same photo with normal and then long exposure, normally long exposure should look brighter because it was exposed longer but here instead the normal photo looks way brighter. I like the option at 3x time optical zoom to capture at 60 mega pix
Your review is so helpful, but when recording at 4k60 you really can't switch to the Ultra wide camera?? And you can't even record a selfie at 4k60??? Strange 😕, Thank you so much Josh 🙏 and sorry keyboard mistake 😁
@@Josh_Quinonez I am confused between iPhone 15 and OnePlus 12 my main concern ch camera and both the phone come at same price for photography which better ???
I bought one and was convinced I had a bad unit. I consistently only got 5 hours screen time on it with total usage of 8 hours. I only use it for streaming including youtube and online poker.
Image quality is comparable to rivals like xiomi 14 or samsung S23 but the video quality is Ok, not great during daylight and is somewhat inferior to the rival phones. At night or in low light, video quality is pathetic
So how do you all feel about these cameras and what you can do with them? Let me know! Thanks for watching!!
Great 👍🏻.. but i want to know can it switch to ultrawide camers in video mode at 4K60fps ? Both in day time & at night.
Actually I love this phone but I mostly create videos so can I go for it or buy iphone instead? Im samsung user.
Hey ...does oneplus 12 has macro and it's 3x 6x in macro? Pls reply
Can you adjust things like aperture, shutter or ISO?
My photos seem nice on the outward appearance but when I zoom in its a blurry painting
Man that lens switching how smooth is that in Android 🔥. Beast device with beast cameras compared to the price 🔥😮
Yes! Awesome!

They are both great devices. Definitely a tough choice. But yeah you can't go wrong with either👍
Maybe you should have the 10 bit color setting enabled, it seems that the colours of the photos would be better

Google lens can also be used to scan QR codes....
10 bit color is a must, take advantage of that beautiful screen my man especially when Samsung still only using 8Bit...
It only counts if the people receiving the photo can see 10bit

Make a video for best settings of cameras
There is no such thing on any phone, if you want the "best", learn to use master mode.

Definitely not far behind

It's a fixed focus camera. Try using it from 30 cm distance. Hope they give autofocus in the next one.
