They get stronger, they just get sidelined for the most part for the plot. I'm excited to see what Smug does for the tournament though because Buu should basically be unstoppable being able to absorb everyone without killing them, then he can just release them at the edge and ring them out.

Imagine if there is one in each universe? I feel like Buu is something that is not under control like was created out of the kais or zeno. Whether or not it was created by somsthing or someone or just appeared on his own.
Don’t think it’ll happen, but I could see a potential buu black absorbing all the Kai’s in the future, making him the one true Kai, except for the fact that the future gods of destructions would still be alive.
