I agree , last year shane seemed refocused he dominated the world 9 ball , wasn’t anyone really close to him , it’s like he wanted to get that one and relax , fsr is a great player no doubt , but when Shane is hungry and at his best he’s still the stronger player and has a higher gear .

Alvin Anggito showed a ton of speed here, while Shane continues to look like he's slipped a notch from his previous standards. I think the final score is a much better indicator of their skill levels than FargoRate (not to take anything away from FargoRate).
Shane hasn’t been playing as much imo, he isn’t as focused imo, he got that world 9 ball last year and was really in a class of his own in that tourney , then he hasn’t looked like that Shane since . He still has the highest gear of any player imo , he just doesn’t seem interested

But plays so much He is still high in the list for total winnings $$$. Ppl think if they dont see him in a final, well, shane didnt attend, he wasnt there. Def. NOT the case. If anything he is Overplayed, Over traveled. Which is why he may be out of it mentally, or younger upcoming players, its their time, they have the mojo. Setting up a minimum of three racks wrong, the blue 2 improperly at the back of a rack should have defaulted SVB. Shouldn't be continuing on in the Derby. It's that simple a rule is a rule.

It is possible to play position for the two-ball, if you are making the one-ball in the side consistently. Professional pool players like to moan about someone putting a large number of break-and-runs together, and they'll complain about not getting a chance.
In theory it's to make the spread less predictable but the fact that some leagues do the opposite and oblige you to put the two at the bottom proves that in practice all of this is bollocks. Seems like 9ball break is solved and not random enough for the pro tournaments, no matter what you do. They should probably stop playing this game altogether.
@@Krushard Matchroom has changed the break format in all their events. 9-ball is on the spot and you must strike a “powerful” break. This combination has eliminated a lot of the predictability of the break.
@@nineballjunky But it didn't. They still have almost guaranteed ball on the break and all you've got is a vague definition of "powerful" which you can't measure and is a set up for wacky arguments like in Alex Pagulayan / Marcel Eckardt situation.
