    Hi there mat, I've had a DD frontline for a few years now I have used a wool blanket doubled up slide inside the two layers,sleeping mats and they make an under blanket too.
    It's a very comfortable hammock even for a 6'2" lump as my self Haha great videos mate enjoy the camp out videos as well as all the rest.
    It's great to see the difference ways the pathfinder system is worked between you, Shawn Kelly, and Dave Canterbury's video's that the information all ties together but from slightly different views great work guys👍

      I really appreciate that James! I know the other guys appreciate your time and interest as well. I like that wool blanket idea as I carry a wool blanket on occasion just because I love wool and it is comfortable to me 🙂 I hope you and yours are doing well friend! Take care.

      @@blackhatbushcraft thanks for the reply mat .
      I'm based in England uk and my work as a long distance hgv driver takes me all over the UK.
      I keep two old army wool blankets with me and they have never let me down yes they are a bit heavier .
      I have a camp kit based on the pathfinder system and a truck kit also. Keep safe in these tough and worrying times.
      And thank you for your time and trouble. Cheers mate

    Hoi Matt i have the same hamock and what i dit is put a piece of shock cord on the inside zippers from my bugnet .

    Really like your new intro. I've been interested in a double layer hammock, I really have trouble with the pad slipping out from under me. I believe the 2 layers would stop that. Is that Caroline Aiken on guitar? I like that. Thanks.

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Bill, thanks for your interest to tune in! It does help quite a bit having that double layer! I used to put a pad in my hammock with me when I first started hammock camping and it was very frustrating. I then got an under quilt which was amazing. This double layer is a good compromise for when the temps are not as cold. The guitar jingle is from the YT royalty-free library for creators 🙂 I like that on as well. Take care Bill!

    The hammock system looks like a very good deal. I like the fact that the bug net is incorporated into the hammock. That would be a great option for me, because we also have a huge insect problem in the spring, and summer.

      I bet it would serve that purpose quite well also Michael. Mule tape is some pretty versatile stuff. The only downside I have found is that it can snag and fray if not careful. It is some strong stuff for sure. Thanks for tuning in!

    Hi. Came across your video last week and after much researching I have decided I'd like to purchase the dd hammock travel / bivi and I think your idea to upgrade to Whoopi slings is an excellent one. I would like to do the same. Do you think you can make a short video on how to? I know its after the fact but maybe you can explain step by step how you went about it. I am really new to all this. I go between you and corporals corner for ideas. I am slowly working on my bugout bag. There is 5 of us, so it takes time to buy everything on limited resources. I plan to buy the hammock very soon to try it out and see if it's a good fit for us before I purchase all 5. Hope you can help. 🙏 So appreciate the valuable content and easy instructions you guys share. God bless you!

    Finally someone shows how to use the mule tape that came with one of my hammocks! Thank you Matt! That is so smart and easy, using the marlin spike toggle. I'll definitely be trying that out. Does the whoopie sling come with the DD or did you buy it separately? I have seen them but wasn't sure how to use them. The whole system you have is so simple and easy without much bulk and weight, just my style :)

      @blackhatbushcraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for your kind words Donna! I am glad you enjoyed the video. I actually purchased my whoppie slings separately and installed them myself. It wasn't too difficult to do and it reduced a good bit of bulk. The system as it comes from DD is foolproof honestly, but just slightly bulkier with the straps. I love the quick adjustment that the whoppie slings allow. Thanks again for your time, interest and kind words!
