Good to hear from you Polly and I'm so happy that you found this one. It has great tweaks and refinements! Last year was a deep chair year and in the past few months I've moved away from it - integrating all of the learnings back into 'classic mode but am feeling the chair need arise again! 🧡💜💙 X Cat
Thank you again for a wonderful practice. I have been practicing your chair classes once a week, and was really happy to see today's class! Namaste, Emma Peters
So pleased that this was good for you Chanchala. In these tiring times Twists and Chair seemed like a positive way to gently shift anything that needed shifting. Thanks for your message. With love, X Cat 🌺
So,as the fable goes, the devas( gods) and,the asuras( demons) decided to churn, twist the Ocean and drink the nectar( Amrit) of immortality as a result of twisting and churning the Ocean......Poison was the first product of churning, which Shiva, the Adiyogi( first yogi) drank and just kept it upto his throat( Neelkantha, the blue throated God)which, the demons drank and perished.....then comes Amrita, nectar which, the gods drank and became immortal So,drawing a parallel to the "twisting" sequence Cat,we intake the " nectar " of total detoxification of our entire musculoskeletal structure and experience bliss(Ananda)........ Gratitude ❣️ 🙏 and thanks once again for this beautiful sequence....will try it out on Sunday....God bless...
It is I who am grateful for your beautiful inspired poetic savant energy. How truly interesting and enchanting to know. Thank you Deepak. 🙏 A veritable pleasure 🌀 X C.
OOh that was very challenging for me all those twists, the chair is new to me, I think I have to make slightly different adjustments to what you show as I’m only 5ft with very short legs. I think for you Cat are much taller than me. Could you recommend a book that uses the chairs so I have a better understanding of my alignment using the chair poses, I had to keep pausing your video to try and fathom out my alignment. Really can feel the benefit immediately my body is truly buzzing internally. Thank you Cat 🙏💖🥰
Hi Jenny. 💓 Yes! The chair is such an amazing tool!! But as you rightly noticed different heights require different adjustments. There are 2 books that I would recommend exploring by Eyal. -A Chair for Yoga amzn.to/3oj70Yd -The Extended Chair for Yoga amzn.to/3qs5iFO The latter is his latest - have just ordered it - but it could be a bit intense if you are just starting to explore. The first one is a tried and tested friend. As for this sequence - try practicing it again next week and you'll be amazed at how much your body remembers and how satisfying that feels. Sending light! Have a lovely weekend. 🌿🦋☀️ X Cat
@@YogawithCat thank you very much Cat, I will go with your first recommendation as I am new to working with a chair. I will do the sequence again as you suggested. I really do think this is going to be beneficial to me working this way as presently I don’t have any teachers that do adjustments and this is such a great way of adjusting yourself. I have always struggled with revolving twists they are very challenging for me, I do think the chair is going to help me explore and assist me to go deeper into the twists with keeping the correct alignment. Thank you so much 🙏💜
Wow this yoga sequence is so interesting nd the twisting variations using different methods involves deep nd thorough approach. Halasana with yoga chair is so relaxing. Really loved flowing frm one pose to another. Thank you nd Namaste. Om Shanti ☺☺☺🙏🙏🙏
Wonderful Veena! I'm always so thrilled when you enjoy an offering. I actually thought of you when making this because I recall you saying that binding was tricky for you? (is my memory correct here?) And these micro steps are so fluid. Meanwhile hope that you are doing well and staying strong. With love X Cat 🌸🌀🌸🙏🏼
Thank you so much for this wonderful practice ! I enjoied it very much ! One question, my teacher always tells me to engage the abdomen during twisting, but i noticed that it makes my neck very stiff. I heard you saying to relax the abdomen to permit the twist ! is it right ? my teacher says that the presence in abdomen helps the lumbar to strech, but i feel that for me maybe doesn't work !Can you help me to clear my practice ?
Interesting question - I think that when your teacher tells you to engage the abdomen s/he is probably referring to the internal action of lightly lifting the belly button back and up. Which is correct but through language and interpretation can also be misconstrued into tension and tightness. And if the abdominal area is tight there can be no meaningful twist. So instead try this - at the end of the exhale completely relax the abdomen, then in the space after the exhale - before the next inhale lightly suck the naval to the lower back and up! twist a little more and then inhale and left the cellular chest. Hope this helps! X Cat 🌺
Thank you again;; 8 loved the chair work. I have a question: I have noticed that you allow your head to come up when rolling out of halasana. I do too, but several teachers have told me to keep my head on the floor, which I find difficult and unnatural. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this, and your justification to allow it to lift. Xx
Happy that you enjoyed this practice! As for the head on floor - like you - i find it more in tune to keep the back of the neck long - so when rolling out of Halasana- if one were to keep the skull on the floor - the cervical would be shortened and the Jalandhara Bhanda action lost. Having said that if one were not using blankets the rolling out action would be different... Hope this helps... ? Have a beautiful weekend Beverley; 🌺🕉🌺
Good morning dear Cat, have emerged from your latest practice today feeling calm and invigorated! I could hear my body popping with every twist! (joints, muscles? ligaments? ), though i wish i could see more of the hand postures behind your back! (: ❤️Started the week on Sunday with a double whammy of beginners Module A just to repeat and correct basic asanas. followed by your subtle yet deep Monday new practice.. Yesterday i did ( again) # 32 which is a great all-rounder. Bref.. a Cat a day keeps the cobwebs away.. 😄🥰🌺much love
Hello dear Orit. 💖 The popping - I have it too. For the first 30 min of practice whilst everything opens; In fact - I still recall the sound of 200 hip sockets popping in Trikonasana during teacher training. lol. As for the limited angle in hands behind the back. Perhaps next time I could move the chair for better viewing. It's always tricky with the iphone on the tripod. Not much 'flexibility! in the viewpoint! In any case I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this practice and that you felt both calm and invigorated. When opposites meet that way it is wonderful! Love and hugs to you from slightly grim almost in lockdown again Europe. X Cat 🌺✨🌺
@@YogawithCat I love the popping! it shows the twisting actually works! as for the filming, I'm in total owe to how you command the camera, practice while instructing in detail. amazing. And! the mirror image! OMG, I often get confused when its the right way round! (don't move the chair, just turn your back to me! i shout at the screen..😁) Here the sun is still shining, the sea is beautiful and calm and swimming excellent.. but shops bars and cafes are all closed and the atmosphere is pretty doom n gloom'ish.. So glad I practice daily with you. Big hug ❤️❤️❤️
@@oritmilitscher Lol. If you only knew how much the mirror image is confusing for me! To the point where I now say left inside of right in every day life. Hopefully - with time - it will make me ambidextrous! Stay strong - as I know you are. We will get through this. 💪 💫 💛
Hi Cat... I have been doing the exercises you had referred along with the module A class 1 n they r really helping. I will do this too... seems interesting with a chair!! Lots of Love - Maninder
Excellent and so good to hear from you Maninder! I'm super pleased that it's working out. As for the chair - an essential tool! I really recommend getting one - or making one (you just take the back out of those metal folding chairs) and hey presto! But in the meantime use a flat seated chair from around the house to explore. It's beautiful and gentle! Yet deep... Have a great day! With love and light, Cat ✨🌼💛
thank you so much for the video and the interesting variations of working with a chair! have a beatiful week Cat. Namaste
