Hey Mike, yeah, I have one, got for my mini 3 pro, but now, in my mini 4 pro, it was difficult to get with me being in Scotland, but I use it more than my normal batteries 👍
I've always wondered, if you use the Plus battery which would put you over the 250 gram weight, who would actually come along and ask to weigh your drone. I want to abide by the rules, but it's an honest question which you kind of asked yourself.
I like your comparison to having an older drone with less flight time. I remember with my Mavic Air, if I had to fly out a distance for a subject, there was so much planning to ensure that, a) I would make it to the subject at the right time to capture what I needed, and b) have enough battery to capture what I needed. Even hanging around for 30 seconds waiting for the subject would make you feel those precious seconds. Then getting a Mavic Air 2 I was like "well, now I've finished that, what else can I do with my remaining battery?"
So....who would know your Drone was overweight by a few grams. I could put decals on, that would put my mini 2 over 249 grams, but who would know. I would not register just due to the battery slightly heavier. I would operate under 'it is only illegal, if you get caught' Like a 251gram drone is so much more 'deadly' than a 249. The decided weight of 249 is ridiculous in the first place. Should be sub 300 gram. That way you start with 250 add a few accessories and no worries.
I cant find an answer to this question. Does an aftermarket ( non-dji) battery + that does not support firmware updates that is over the standard M4P battery weight trigger the RID?
So getting the larger batteries means you have to register the drone? What else does it trigger? Are there additional tests one must take now? Any money one has to spend to get a license or something? If this is so then I don't know how important the extra 10 minutes is compared to everything one must do because of the extra weight.
I got a question I live in Texas I just bought DJI MINI 4 pro with the plus batteries I want to fly drone just recreational. What do need to get done be side register to FAA AND TRUST TEST.
Technically yes, practically? No, in my opinion. Who would know your mini 4 is a bit over? No one is EVER going to pull out a scale and weigh it. Fly responsibly and it will never be an issue

Hey Jim, I hope you are well! Yes I must admit I tend to gravitate towards it a little more often than not myself!

No one! That's why these rules are so dumb and people are silly to be so hardcore about them

Well done Mike, another informative video 👍
Cheers for the Stuart - I appreciate it mate!
Good to see you posting again brother. God bless
Hey thank you man, that's so nice of you to say! I hope you are well!
Great video, thanks. I couldn't tell from the video, how long were you able to fly with the plus battery?
34 min
@@Matanumi Thank you very much for the answer! 🙂
I am going get a plus battery I only fly by the beach so not worried ebay UK have them

I haven't got one myself to test, but I would not think so?
RID is on no matter what if your in or near America
@@Matanumi speedy response to a 4 month old question. Thanks
Drone Police, Open up!!!!!
Ha ha shit imagine that!! 😆

Or you could ignore the rules and just fly the drone. Who is going to approach you with a scientifically accurate scale to weight the drone?
@@joeshmoe7967 I get you. Although I read if I want to make money and upload photos/film then I would have to register and even get a license anyway.
@@joeshmoe7967 That's exactly what I wondered if you decided to use the Plus battery.

@@joeshmoe7967yea but the plus batteries makes the drone turn on RID. The smaller batteries do not trigger RID. That’s how people would know.
Where can I buy one for my mini 4 pro in New Zealand. Can a mini 3 plus battery work?
Have you tried Ferntech?
I use Mini 3 plus battery from 10/2023 in my Mini 4 pro from today. It works fine. 45 minute flight. But i use original battery
Think I’ll be doing the flu more plus option and guy get a couple cheaper batteries down the road
Yeah good call mate
First
Nice! Thanks mate I appreciate your support! I wish I had a prize to give you! Thanks again! 😊
