Still being a newbie, I can REALLY appreciate the time & effort in what a simple video like this can help us less experienced woodworkers!

Well, I just learned that I have been edge banding all wrong. Your method is so much more efficient than how I have been doing it. Of course despite using countless feet of the stuff I had no idea that you could snap it so easy to make a clean edge. I can't thank you enough for this tip!

I’ve been adding Heat n Bond iron-on adhesive to the plywood side for extra durability. The iron-on adhesive is originally designed for permanently adhering fabrics together. But that extra layer of adhesive makes a world of a difference for projects that are often moved around; ie speakers. I’ve had simple carpet fibers snag the edge banding and completely remove it. Heat n Bond is also the only method I know of on repairing pulled apart edge banding.

Hey, a new iron! You taught me how to do this several years ago, Jon, and while simple it's been useful for me a number of times now. Thanks!

Thanks Jack, it’s Funny I still get a lot of questions about edge banding so I thought I’d make a new video a little more up to date.

I have to reinstall some edge banding soon for a friends counter top, I'll look into this 'iron on' banding to see how it works for me.
    Thanks for these tips.

Thank you for the video. I have an IKEA countertop I want to cut down, but no edging strips. I'm going to try your method with an edge banding strip.

Hi, great video, I’ve recently started using this kind of iron on edge banding and I’ve had issues with it failing the day after… but I did subject it to heat in my spray room (so the paint dries quicker) and I think that re-activated the glue. Thoughts?
