Dave, You always teach me something. You forgot one though,...boat ramps can provide entertainment, like on Memorial Day Weekend. At least one forgotten drain plug every 30 minutes. Keep fighting the good fight. It looks like 51 feet to me too.
We used to pack a lunch and go the Tayor's Creek ramp in Beaufort, NC. I have seen drunk people fall out of the boat, several trucks go right in the creek and also a woman hit her man with a brick. Never a shortage of entertainment.
Some of the best advice ever! I laughed my butt off but trust me I take your advice and use it myself and that includes all your videos! Thanks catfish Dave!
You hit the boat ramp fishing right on! All kinds of fish hang around boat ramps, most ramps have deep holes from the ramp out to the middle of the river. After launching my boat, my finder had fish stacked up around most of the ramps I've launched at.
Thanks for the "Boat Ramp Cat Fish" education Big Dave! I'll see if that works out up here along the Snake River where I know there are some decent catfish! Nothing like what you have down there of course... but our problem up here is we have these pesky Sturgeon that like to eat the same stuff we use for catfishing! :) Don't forget to break out that Les Paul one of these days my friend! ;)
So true Dave. Used to fish for big stripers off of rocks next boat ramp and can’t tell you how many people coming in would offer fish that they caught to us. Great video as always. Appreciate you. Blessings.
I enjoyed your video about fishing around boat ramps. I fish the Mississippi river and boat ramps are placed in eddys to make loading boats easy. Eddys are my go to when it is cold fishing from the bank. Good video.
Good morning Dave. This warm weather in East Tennessee is nuts! Last night at work it was 60 degrees. In January! That guy in the boat must have been fishing for the pot of gold. Haha!
Lmao 🤣 your exactly right about the crappie fisherman trying to give there fish away. I’ve had it happen to me several times at the ramp.I guess People just have a hard time releasing fish. That’s why some people keep trophy catfish I guess.😡. Enjoyed it as usual Dave👍👍
Great video Dave . That same cold front came through North/South Carolina Saturday night I was driving on US 321 it was all I could do to keep the truck in the road the wind was blowing so hard...
The profoundness of your explanation is just outstanding sawfish the boat ramp well cuz there's water boat rent cuz there's a boat ramp dude you have a second grade education and I am giving you a lot more than what you should be given
He has a video out there somewhere on repairing a cast net. It wasn't one of the cheap Wal-Mart nets but a little more expensive brand. I think it was in one of his videos on catching bait.
Yeah I think he does have a video on it. But like that other guy said Catfish Dave uses those goid nets they're abot $150 i checked on one . But can't remember the name brand now.
Nice one Dave you're fishing on a non boating kind of day, don't think anyone would have a problem with you being off to the side. Looks like you can catch trolls by boat ramps too 😎 Jeff in LA USA
Dave there is catfish at the end of that rainbow behind you, good fishing.also a lot of people throw leftover bait at boat landings that they dont want to carry home
Ramps are convenient places to fish but the bad part is, some people don't have enough common sense to get out of the way of trucks trying to launch or load boats. I don't have a boat and am a shore fisherman myself but I see this all the time. I will fish beside the ramps but dont like to setup on them. I was fishing near one ramp on Watts Bar a few weeks ago and some other bank fishermen came and sat chairs on the ramp itself and was fishing with floats right where the ramp goes into the water. 30 or so mins before dark, the boat fishermen that had been out fishing came to load their boats and these people just sat there in their camping chairs staring at their floats on the ramp. They had a 2 lane ramp totally blocked. They wouldn't reel in...wouldn't move. They just sat there and ended up getting into a shouting confrontation with the guys trying to load their boats.
Love the simple logic. #1 Boat ramps by the water. Catfish in the water. #2 Don't get my boots muddy. #3 Domino's Delivers to the ramp. Lmao. I use the same strategy when on vacation fishing tidal areas. Dont like mud on my shoes either. Tight lines brother.
shanester the I’m in those areas and few CD hasn’t shown. Hopefully he won’t show them if he goes so they don’t get blown up. I will be at Melton hill damn tonight.
Watch his back to my roots video I believe that is north East Tennessee, Douglas lake, holsten and French broad. I am new to TN , still learning the spots and patterns of the fish.
I saw the video back to roots. That's in sevierville. Boyd's creek. I knew Dave was from the Knoxville area. I was referring to someone else that commented.
One time at one of the old ramp on Grapevine Lake walked 40 lb flat laying there. I dont know if he was there for bait or because it was warm but he was there
Another reason a boat ramp is good for catching catfish: They're often situated in an area with deeper water relative to areas that have otherwise shallow water. You know, boats gotta navigate and so forth. Structure can be as little as a sharp 3 foot drop in depth. Structure is good. 🤙🤙🤙
Hey dave , all them boat ramps have there own no fishing sign , and that makes it more of a challenge and more exciting,, have you ever noticed there ain’t no signs that say ,,, NO making Whoopi,,, I wonder why that is.
We were fishing at a boat ramp one time and these two guys were trying to put a boat in the water. They forgot to take those straps off the back of the boat so the guy in the boat keeps telling him to back further in. the boat guy keeps trying to back the boat off of the trailer. Finally the trailer starts floating with the boat still on it!! At which time the boat guy signals for the truck guy to pull out. He puts it in drive and pulls it out, and doesn't even stop, he drives it clear out of sight!!
Hi Dave. I really appreciate the content in your videos. I live in Knoxville and am a life-long fisherman. I'd love to meet you for breakfast or lunch sometime (my treat). Just let me know if you have any interest.
Was at clark center park in shorts this morning its the 15 th so had same type day . Park employ look like he wanted to tell me to move but he let me stay . Wondering if the blizzard that hit in the 90s is going to happen this year im not from here iv herd the weather was just like this.
To bad the boaters through the fisherman off the ramps and docks here in Idaho the folks kinda figure that everyone that payed for them should be able to use them you know our taxes and everyone seems to get along just fine but then again this is a open and concealed carry state it works for us! And my very favorite reason for fishing ramps and docks is l don't know how many times I've watched people clean there boats and fish while waiting for the trailer what's left of there bait scraps and half a ham sandwich!
Catfish Dave what city are you from? I’m from Tennessee as well. But I’m in west Tennessee. And I fish paris landing a lot and I have caught many fish around them. I have also got a bite when boats come in? Strange. But it’s happened a lot. Not only bites but the fish would jump all over it when the boats come in. Would you think maybe people. Fillet fish the cats follow boats for the remains or could it be the disturbances.
Wouldn't a go pro be better for those conditions? Being water proof and all. Is your camera way better than a go pro? Just wondering. Would eliminate a lot of your camera issues.
Dave, You always teach me something. You forgot one though,...boat ramps can provide entertainment, like on Memorial Day Weekend. At least one forgotten drain plug every 30 minutes. Keep fighting the good fight. It looks like 51 feet to me too.

I like the way you do your videos, no B.S. not a bunch of useless talk! Just straight forward fishing and Great tips! Doing a Great job! Tight Lines!
I never thought about ordering a pizza to my fishing spot, great idea!
Beautiful rainbow in the background.
Some of the best advice ever! I laughed my butt off but trust me I take your advice and use it myself and that includes all your videos! Thanks catfish Dave!
Rumor has it that catfish has thier on TH-cam channel they post too when caught by catfish Dave.
2T

Another day outside catching fish nice weather, caulght two myself yesterday off clinton lake 😎👍
Clinton lake , Kansas ? One of my all time favorite memories is fishing at Clinton lake with my uncle Cliff.
Thanks for the "Boat Ramp Cat Fish" education Big Dave! I'll see if that works out up here along the Snake River where I know there are some decent catfish! Man I love it, every time I hook up I have that banjo start playing in my head lol love it!
Nice fish you're lucky with that temp. It's 34 today and 19 degrees tomorrow. Weather's goofy up here. Nice rainbow about 3:10. Thanks Dave.
So true Dave. Used to fish for big stripers off of rocks next boat ramp and can’t tell you how many people coming in would offer fish that they caught to us. Great video as always. Appreciate you. Blessings.
That banjo & get fiddle music is perfect for this vid!!!!!
I have that same plano box. Bought it 20 years ago. Still in service. Love the video. Keep on keeping on.
I have the same one but mines green
I enjoyed your video about fishing around boat ramps. I fish the Mississippi river and boat ramps are placed in eddys to make loading boats easy. Eddys are my go to when it is cold fishing from the bank. Good video.
I love this one. Good music too. Have A Great Day Dave. Stay Safe!!
I love this video. I've never thought so much about what you can do off a boat ramp before!
Cool capture of the rainbow @3:08 or so!
Really enjoy your videos love to hear those reels screaming!!! Thanks for sharing God bless
Good morning Dave. This warm weather in East Tennessee is nuts! Last night at work it was 60 degrees. In January! That guy in the boat must have been fishing for the pot of gold. Haha!
GREAT VIDEO!!! ALSO BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW THERE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO
Pesca sensacional, este lugar tiene buen pescado felicitaciones el video fue hermoso.
Abrazos!👍🎣😉
Boat ramps are good for all those reasons especially bait fish. Thanks for the info. Keep that humor and the film rolling.
it's the middle of january here to and it is 38 and dropping.. you stay safe out there Mr catfish!
I’m gonna start doing the Dave hook set when I’m going after cats.
I was thinking the same thing lol.
I keep catfish from 2 pounds on up even the huge catfish n clean every one of them
Man best idea ever. Theirs a light pole right over a boat ramp at my lake I need to start fishing it at night more often. I know it draws in shad
It's good to see what Doctor Dave does on his day off.
Every time a person tries to do something else, they get a bite. Good video.
Talk on the phone, go to the truck for a snack & the band played on. 🎶
All Good Reasons To Fish Near A Boat Ramp, The Best Is That All Of Them Are On The Water. :) Great Video Brother 👍👍
50 Feet Is Not Far If We Can Cast 6 Miles :)
Great video Dave . That same cold front came through North/South Carolina Saturday night I was driving on US 321 it was all I could do to keep the truck in the road the wind was blowing so hard...
Rainbow and skill equal fish great video 😎
I slayed some bass that day before the storm. Good video, I live off Northshore
Last winter was so cold up north I remember they were having earthquakes from ground water freezing.
The profoundness of your explanation is just outstanding sawfish the boat ramp well cuz there's water boat rent cuz there's a boat ramp dude you have a second grade education and I am giving you a lot more than what you should be given
Your the best catfish Dave, keep them coming
Brought to you by dasani water and mustad demon hooks. The official sponsors of catfish dave
You should do a fix it video on how you fix your cast nets, I have one to fix and have never seen it done.
It’s called a bait buster he uses the 8 foot
Nice one Dave you're fishing on a non boating kind of day, don't think anyone would have a problem with you being off to the side. Looks like you can catch trolls by boat ramps too 😎 Jeff in LA USA
Dave there is catfish at the end of that rainbow behind you, good fishing.also a lot of people throw leftover bait at boat landings that they dont want to carry home

Love the video Dave as always! You really give some good information on catfishing! I'm going to try those demon hooks.
You're right across the river from me.
My depth perception is off too Dave
Will you do a video on that net repair and another great video
I think he has one on fixing a cast net. If I'm not wrong.
I fish quite a few boat ramps out here in East Tennessee, I really hope to run into you sometime. Thanks for the awesome videos!
What part of east TN?? I know Dave is around Knoxville Kingston. Alcoa area.
Looking for more places in North East Tn.
shanester the I’m in those areas and few CD hasn’t shown. Hopefully he won’t show them if he goes so they don’t get blown up. I will be at Melton hill damn tonight.
Watch his back to my roots video I believe that is north East Tennessee, Douglas lake, holsten and French broad.

I like the music when you catch a fish
-38 F here Canada. .4 am
And a Catfish Dave Notice.
Boat ramps are great in the cooler and cold months. The concrete heats up fast and causes the water to be warmer in the area, thus more fish
All of catfish Daves vids are great!
I’m gonna have to bring me a Bluetooth speaker with me and start playing banjo music when I hook one. Awesome.
One time at one of the old ramp on Grapevine Lake walked 40 lb flat laying there. I dont know if he was there for bait or because it was warm but he was there
Aww Nice Rainbow in the sky!

🤙🤙🤙
That's what I was thinking would be the main reason.
Hey dave , all them boat ramps have there own no fishing sign , and that makes it more of a challenge and more exciting,, have you ever noticed there ain’t no signs that say ,,, NO making Whoopi,,, I wonder why that is.
its a good thing you got that cast net finished or all them fish around the ramp would have had the sore mouth.
That would be a monster for me. Great video
I enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Love fishing boat ramps they always hold fish
His depth perception is gonna get allot better real quick if a game warden catches him. But I do hope he makes it.
Also catfish spawn at boat ramps where there's holes underneath it where the waves have hollowed our the holes
Nice couple of fish.
Be safe and fish on👍👏🤠🎣
Old road beds often lead from deep to shallow giving a clear highway from deep to shallow.
There's a rainbow in the background. Before he caught the first one.
We were fishing at a boat ramp one time and these two guys were trying to put a boat in the water. Love the bluegrass when you hook up.New sub, but I love your videos.
Can You put up at Video of throwing a Cast Net...I have one but really suck at throwing it...Any Tips You would be Great
Hi Dave. I really appreciate the content in your videos. I live in Knoxville and am a life-long fisherman. I'd love to meet you for breakfast or lunch sometime (my treat). Just let me know if you have any interest.
Also my family is from Knoxville tommy Rayburn. Larry dale rayburn. Sharon Rayburn. Uncles and aunts all have passed now.
Your tripod is impressive. All that wind and not a shake at all.
I have rocks stacked against the feet to hold it down
Would you show how you cast that net? That was cool
Catfish dave with another banger video lol. Making us Dave’s proud around the world.
Lakes in KS are gonna hard next week, sad state of affairs. May is right around the corner tho!
Was at clark center park in shorts this morning its the 15 th so had same type day . Park employ look like he wanted to tell me to move but he let me stay . Wondering if the blizzard that hit in the 90s is going to happen this year im not from here iv herd the weather was just like this.
Another fun watch. LOL @ "Catfish are in the water..." It's true that you can catch them in the forest, but MOST of the time they are in the water.
Thanks Dave!
It's currently 72 degrees at 6am in south texas right now
Some lakes I fish have signs posted "no fishing" from boat ramp, imagine that
To bad the boaters through the fisherman off the ramps and docks here in Idaho the folks kinda figure that everyone that payed for them should be able to use them you know our taxes and everyone seems to get along just fine but then again this is a open and concealed carry state it works for us!
And my very favorite reason for fishing ramps and docks is l don't know how many times I've watched people clean there boats and fish while waiting for the trailer what's left of there bait scraps and half a ham sandwich!
So dies this crazy weather ever confuse the fish as far as getting on a nest or effect their eating habits
It takes a much longer time for the water to warm up. Just cuz the air temp is 80 for a few days the water temp may still be in the 50's
Catfish Dave what city are you from? I’m from Tennessee as well. But I’m in west Tennessee. And I fish paris landing a lot and I have caught many fish around them. Great video dave keep it up 👍🏻
I was waiting for you to say another good reason to fish there was because you can watch the girls in bikinis. I like the free crappies for bait idea.
Love the music
As always another good video!
There's a boat ramp I've been fishing since back in the late 1980s and now there's a sign there saying no fishing from ramp or you'll get a ticket.
10 degrees this morning in North Idaho!
Nice video
Wouldn't a go pro be better for those conditions? Being water proof and all. Is your camera way better than a go pro? Just wondering. Would eliminate a lot of your camera issues.
Can u tell me how to properly use a click reel. What is drag set on
hurray for Dave and Bluegrass!
This is catfish Dave with another one!
You the man dave!
