    Every year, between November 15 and 17, students, workers, and anarchists from all over Greece take over the Athens Polytechnic to commemorate the 1973 student uprising against the military junta that ruled the Mediterranean nation between the years 1967-1974.
    The three-day celebration traditionally culminates in a mass protest that ends in Exarcheia, an artist neighborhood generally considered to be the spiritual home of the anarchist movement.
    VICE News attended this year’s demonstration, in which protesters were met with an unprecedented level of police brutality. Greek riot police used tear gas, flash bangs, and batons against protesters till the early hours, in what appeared to be a complete crackdown on any form of civil disobedience.

The first scenario of volunteers has been tried many times in small communities (mostly in USA) and they all failed (have you heard of "tragedy of the commons"?). ALL. I think you need to read up more on the behavior of greek anarchists. They have been engaged in rioting, looting vandalizing, arson, armed robberies, murders, attacks againt police and news outets, and othe terrorist attacks for years. Even the ones't that don't directly commit crimes frame convicted anarchist criminals as "victims" . Democracy does not mean someone gets to terrorize the public because they don't like the elected government in power. Greek anarchists are lawless undemocratic thugs that just frame their lawlessness as "democratic" and "human rights".

    Anarchy:
    An - Without
    Archy - Ruler
    You can see the word meaning by looking at the word Monarchy:
    Mon - One
    Archy - Ruler
    Violent people are not anarchists. People own their own bodies, and only a ruler (government, king, etc.) believes they own people and can hurt them as they please.
    Anarchy is only the idea that there should be no rulers. It has nothing to do with violence. It's similar to the idea of vegetarianism. Vegetarian only describes the practice of not eating meat. It does NOT however say anything about what someone actually does eat.

      anarchistpsychonaut Firstly I disagree with the foundational principle of Anarchism. That being,advocating a stateless society in our current state of technology and the world. In the future with better technology and hopefully cooler heads? Maybe. Today, I doubt it would last a year without someone filling the power vacuum.
      I believe it then follows that I would vehemently disagree with groups of people who violently advocate that and wish to force that upon others (Which is doubly as aggravating as it is completely hypocritical to the more libertarian side of anarchism.)

    • @djuradjuric7161
      @djuradjuric7161 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @Alexis Vladimir Ortega
      First of all what makes you think I'm an anarchist?
      Secondly, I don't see what your personal anecdote has anything to do with anarchists wanting to abolish the state and private property and establish an anarchist society, which is to say a classless, moneyless and stateless society, much like communism but by different means.
      Thirdly, the fact that they called you a fascist or a nazi or whatever is nothing more than an insult which you should be able to handle easily rather than behave like a triggered loser.
      Also, the fact that they called you fascist has more to do with what you do than what you are. You may not be a fascist in heart but the fact that you were at an anti-immigration rally, an event frequently participated by fascists and in interest of fascism, makes you to be perceived as a person in support of fascism.
      So, in short, go read Lenin you pathetic liberal.

    • @djuradjuric7161
      @djuradjuric7161 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Alexis Vladimir Ortega
      Why are illegal immigrations happening in the first place? Some peoples are driven to out of pure desperation cross borders illegally under threat of being arrested in a foreign country because Western capitalist nations have completely destroyed their chances of normal life in their own countries. You want to stop illegal immigration? Fight against capitalism because then you remove the root of the problem. Or, you know, you can change the law in your country for immigrations to not be illegal and then you wouldn't even have that problem in the first place, that is if illegal immigration is something you have a particular issue with, which is doubtful.
      But since you just attend anti immigration rallies out of no real understanding of circumstances then, you doing service to fascism, hence why these anarchists call you fascist.

    • @djuradjuric7161
      @djuradjuric7161 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Alexis Vladimir Ortega
      Anarchists take issue with states monopoly on power, which is to say institutions such as police, military, banks, industries and trade are all submitted to the wills of the few privileged individuals, ie the bourgeoisie, when in fact they should serve the will of the people. Anarchists do not oppose order or law but unjust hierarchies in particular, which is to say that unless a certain hierarchy such as a state can't be justified in terms of serving the will of the people ot should abolished altogether. Classes are hierarchical constructions based upon ownership of the means of production, those that own them are bourgeoisie and those don't are the proletariat and since anarchists believe that ownership of the means of production should be made public, they seek to establish a classless society.
      Money is nothing more than a means for individuals to trade goods and services but since money has a tendency to accumulate in few hands, ie in those of bourgeoisie, which grants institutional power, it also should be abolished.

      Except I'm not in favour of violence but in some cases it can be justified, it's not particularly hard to justify beating up a fascist. I don't think it's just a matter of different opinion either but of actions as well. One can keep their bigoted opinions to themselves without putting them into practice on the streets and having an impact on the world.
      Fascists also enter public dialogue in bad faith, which means they do not care to change their opinion but just to put out their rhetoric in order to trick liberals like you to think that illegal immigration is a problem and not capitalism which drives illegal immigration in the first place.
      Hence why anti fascists don't care to engage in "debate" with fascists and prefer to punch them instead.

      Anarchism not "anarchy". There is a difference. Orwell knew it:
      "Along with the collectivization of industry and transport there was an attempt to set up the rough beginnings of a workers' government by means of local committees, workers' patrols to replace the old pro-capitalist police forces, workers' militias based on the trade-unions, and so forth." So, there's an implication at the end of this video that state order is good because they protect reasonably occupied and used property, etc. However, they fail to highlight the reality that state violence is on any level is a justification for higher levels, or more imperialist levels, if you will, of violence. So, as a comparison, any level of secondary contradiction could be leveled up to be a serious violation. Racist, sexist lynchings, etc. So, any violation of this fundamental validation of non-animal living, to kill without or without consciousness, etc, is I think a hallmark of state action and something that shouldn't be entertained on any level. Peace

      xWINfinity Well I suppose people would see being 22 the age of a child still in the eyes of others so you got that point.
      However, I find aggression to be the better part of valor in terms of going against oppression. The People of Greece were given a chance to save their country from austerity and the majority voted "No". But what happened? Their leader, the one they were supposed to trust implore the peoples wishes on the matter went behind their backs, turned turncoat and made a under the desk deal with the European banks for another bailout.
      So, they are the right to be pissed, they have every right to fight back now with violence. Peaceful protests will only get you so far, in this time of world we live in nopw, it will take blood, sweat and tears to bring change, words alone will not nor do they hold any power in this age.
