I finish kitchens for a living and I'm pretty sure this is less time consuming than some of the stuff I have to do. Some of the high end kitchens get a hand applied glaze and I'd honestly rather just wrap everything lol even a natural door like this still has to get sprayed with sealer and at least one coat of varnish plus sanding between coats. I bet if you get used to doing this it would take less time warping all the doors in a kitchen. This was awesome.
I did this using mack tack drawer liners in a light wood grain, in my first apartment 35+ years ago...was economical and looked amazing. Great way for a quick makeover on a budget. I'm sure you could find some beautiful designs now. Great video !!!
Hi i found in the past, if i had to do a mitre on fabric. I did it two ways. One, I first did the 45* cut on the one side. But not totally glue it down. Then i get the other piece, lay that down and lift up the first mitre then place on top. You can use that 45* as the line for cutting the other piece. And second, i over lapped the two sides, then did the 45* cut through the two pieces. Door looks great anyway.
Hey Aria! Did you ever do this or anything else on your cabinets? I just moved into a rental condo and while I love my home, I HATE the cabinet color! They're just like the video, honey and looks outdated lol.
Next time, just do your entire video without music on top. It's still great in 2023 to hear the tech explaining everything out while he's doing it. Great video !
It would be cool too see you wrap various doors or objects in the fabric vinyls or leather, glitter, stone effect, marble effect. Just so we can see how you would maybe do the corner of a door in a different way compared with standard vinyls. It would be interesting too see how it is different to work with the various different finishes..and what or. If there are different techniques for the different vinyls
You dud a killer job. I think i would like to try this if I find a sticker paper that I like. It for sure seems time consuming but if i think aboit it. Its worth it for sure, the money you save as well as the quality of the outcome. Looks beautiful
You were making me frikin’ nervous when doing those corners! Overlapping the corners, then cutting through both means you get perfect corners every time. There was a comment earlier from a guy who does it when doing upholstery. It’s also the way it’s done on intersecting corners when installing wallpaper.
hi great video when you made the slant cuts at the corners you did them seperatly making it harder to meet together i thought it would have been easier cutting through both at the same time making a clean accurate cut i use this method during upholstery work
If the door was flat, I would do a double cut. It curves down and it will harder to double cut. It just take practice. :) Everyone does things different. Find what works with you.
mine are shaker with thermofoil - and after 7 years, the ones particulart by - you guessed it - oven (heat) and heavily used (utensil drawer) as well as many other - are cracked, peeling, and whole foil sheet would lift right up if I pulled it. I will of course do all - even in white (which is on it now) to get a consistent new look / match up - hoping maybe one or two a weekend - or even take to work and do over my lunch hour (that we are now forced to take). Maybe all the men I work with will oversee and not like the way I do it and HELP ME! I am an old school woman - this is men's work - but I have no man - so will have to do myself. Other stuff like flooring/dryway repairs/paint I will have to pay for professional - but think I can do this project myself - and safe several thousand. Purchasing shaker cabinet doors and drawer fronts (these are flat) would cost me several+ thousald dollars. I really like the 'quiet' pattern of the black used in this vid. I am thinking that white with with same pattern my help hide and corner flaws? Any thoughts? Def only a couple a weekend so I don't get frustrated and screw up my wrap work. :)😂
Hi, I noticed at the beginning of the video you saying that you normally proceed to put the center wrap first and then the frame stripes. However, in this demonstration you apply the frame area FIRST and at the end of the video (final product) it seems like the frame stripes slightly overlap the center wrap. How was that done? Am I missing something? Great technique and finished product! :)
It came out really well but my ocd would not allow the patterns to be different.

Thank you for this tutorial! I only found how to videos on how to apply contact paper on plain surfaces which is... why? Now I can try to do this project thanks to you!
Wow! Fabulous job! I have a gas inset fire with a horrible laminate backboard - would these wraps be suitable for around the fire or are there heat limitations? Here in the UK things are fairly tightly regulated, but as I'm in a rental house it's not worth spending hundreds. Would really appreciate your advice x
Did my cabinet 4 years ago and still look great. Only a few little places that I need to fix. Here the video you can watch. th-cam.com/users/livej68Ygj3Nk5E?si=v6oN5fiFe04IvUik I’ll do an update video soon.
So do you actually heat up the door once applied for a tighter fit? Also how you did the wrap around the back would have been nice. I noticed a scuff on the bottom left hand corner.
I'm sure the answer is right in front of me ...but did you paint it gray? I could have sworn that the original product was black but it changed to gray after so maybe i missed something? Btw, they are simply gorgeous.
Looks amazing! I had a car with DiNoc carbon fiber applied to the roof and it looked fantastic! We’re looking to do my friends bar in faux black gator. Do you carry it?
Can you email us what your cabinets look like? Info@rmwraps.com if you prep out the surface and install the vinyl right. It will last. This boat wrap has survive Nigeria for two years. th-cam.com/video/gDumx0Qe2fM/w-d-xo.html
Have you ever tried using a single sheet and heat gun to stretch if over the entire surface and work it in with the squeegee? I’ve seen people do this on car rims but was wondering if it would work for shaker style doors
Could you not get the pattern on the outside edge to run together or away from the inner panel in the same direction by switching the direction of the vinyl?
Randy- will the vinyl leave sticky adhesive to doors if I was to remove the vinyl in later years? If so, what are the best methods to remove the sticky adhesive?
It depends on the material. Cheeper products will always leave the adhesive.. 3M do some products that will be if yiu go for a a little more expensive they shouldnt (but even 3M state this isnt a guarantee) Simple washing up liquid and water. Alcohols cleaners even laint thinners remove the adhesive easy enough. Just depends on what the finish in the piece you wrapped is. Anither thing to note is that a primer may be best used on the edges if doing a full wrap round. 3m do a prosuct called Primer 94 which is perfect. If you're interested in doing a wrap such as the ine in the video. I suggest checking out a product called "Dinoc" they have to great finishes. Some textures to look and feel just like wood and slate
what happens when you remove the vinyl? I am moving into a new place and was thinking of wrapping the cupboard doors to match my decor., and match new additional cupboards i intend placing in the kitchen.. unfortunately they have to look the same way they did when i moved in if and when i vacate the property.... my doors are flat without framing so there wont be any need to do a trim or a cut on the surface of the doors...
Can you please tell me what is the name of that paper that you put in the door and where to buy, i’m just about to finish my house and that’s a beautiful idea I love what you deal with that
It's 3M ... It is a "black carbon fiber vinyl"....(not the gloss). I wrapped my car Hood with this last year. Amazing stuff. Be sure to not "finger it"....watch "PLENTY" of video diy's on how to work with it. It takes practice. It's also expensive during some parts of the year depending on it's demand as well. My 5 x 4 was $180. When I was ready to do my roof, the price went up. (Also..it's always 5ft wide....you can only adjust how much linear feet needed.)
lacquer is too hot. It will burn the vinyl. I would leave it alone. If you want to put a clean coat on, you can use Minwax 33050000 Fast-Drying Polyurethane Aerosol amzn.to/3bb78CZ or www.homedepot.com/p/Varathane-1-Gal-Clear-Gloss-Water-Based-Interior-Polyurethane-200031/100140741
Is it possible to wrap just the center of the doors? I'll be remounting door handles from the middle to the bottom corners. I don't want to bother filling the old holes and repainting.
No car vinyl is different. Car vinyl is around 3.5 mil thick, glue is different, stretches different. Architectural films are around 7-11 mils thick. More durable, glue is different.
By far the best and most professional looking wrap I've seen on here.

Great video !!!
That is the best
application I have seen so far on that style of cabinet door.
Thanks! The overlapping corner cuts were great for achieving flush results.
You're an artist man. Nice job. I'd let you wrap my whole car. Too cool.
Flush perfectly even. Flesh is skin... The door looks amazing
Wow, that's fantastic. Thank you for showing how to really do it well. Best regards.

THIS IS SO AWESOME!! Because I'm renting and I hate all those generic brown cabinets!! This helps so much thnks :)

Very good job! I think it looks great.
Fab. Its not cheap in the UK,i wanted the leather look wrap £34.14 a meter...BUT guaranteed for 12 years use...it may well be worth it.
hi great video when you made the slant cuts at the corners you did them seperatly making it harder to meet together i thought it would have been easier cutting through both at the same time making a clean accurate cut i use this method during upholstery work

Class work there Randy.
Thank you
I’m going to try this tonight
I checked your site and you seem to have quality stuff.
I hope to become a customer soon.
That looks pretty neat!!! Thank you so much for this video!!!! Very helpful.
Great job Randy
I need to see how to complete the middle. I can't seem to get it right.
Mr. Miller. Great work!

Nice work . That turned out really well
Looks really good I need to do this
Wow!! Great job!!
That came out perfectly !!
My cabinets have the round indents. Can you make a video for those please?
exactly what I was looking for!!!!
The 3m Di-noc is good stuff, I wrapped my appliances in it.. tad pricey but worth it
Can you come to my house and do this?? PLEASE? Awesome product!
I don't know a home owner that would cover good wooden cabinets. When refinishing or lacquering them looks way better then covering them.
+aure818v people wrap brand new $100000 cars in a different color all the time. Same thing.
Wow soooooo professional
Man that's CLEEEEEEEEEEAN!
Looks awesome
Cracking job well done 👍🏼
Looks great but wont the flush edged corners split from stretching shortly after install? We usually overlap edges and seems
Amazing work
Nice job

Surely you’d have the pattern flowing the same way all around?
WOW, love it love it, thanks for sharing :) :)
Super talented man!! I inspirational xxx
beautiful but a bit out of my budget. thanks for showing how to do this.
Hi, great video. Why did you not do the back so to to fully wrap the door?
I was just showing people how to do the front. The back is easy to do
Would be good to see a full door done ;)
EXCELENTE!!! GRACIAS !!! BENDICIONES !!
I’d definitely leave that to a professional!!
Something things, yes. Flat door are easy to wrap.
It came out really well but my ocd would not allow the patterns to be different.

does this carbon fiber make your cabinet door do the whole "weight reduction bro"?
No the weight is fine.
I wrap my couch in it when I moved.
The couch was so light, I didn't even need help carrying it down the stairs. Amazing stuff
LMFAO @ Shyzah. I was thinking the same thing.
Rm Wraps LLC You clearly did not get the joke
It's not a joke when it's not funny (lame)
Would love this on a countertop
THANK YOU!!!
Excellent!
Amazing work!!! :)
Is it possible to wrap a more traditional raised panel cabinet doors with the recessed areas?
could do with a how to video of wrapping an office desk, the type with built in 3 draw cabinet to the left and metal frame around!
+Thomas Day here's one video of just the top. Are you looking for custom printed one? th-cam.com/video/_NpclbEvYqI/w-d-xo.html
Can you please tell me the colors this wrap comes in..or create a di noc video series for serious shoppers please!

No but really, if the hardware is where you get hung up, find another hobby.
So do you actually heat up the door once applied for a tighter fit? Also how you did the wrap around the back would have been nice. I noticed a scuff on the bottom left hand corner.
Nice but do you also wrap the backs of the doors
Some times.

It's a carbon fiber pattern vinyl product. Watch the video again with the sound on.

Black Gator? sorry we don't. Try here. www.metrorestyling.com/Hexis-Gloss-Pitch-Black-Alligator-Vinyl-Wrap-p/hx30al890b.htm
How would this work with a raised panel cabinet door with more fine detail?
Can you text us the image of the door to see if it wrapable. Or email at info@rmwraps.com
Hi just wanted to know I have painted wood furniture can it be covered?
Can I ask a Question. Why didn't you use a heat gun on all the panels ? I thought the heat activated the glue ? Nice job Randy
I love it
This is so legit. How does hold up to steam or heat from an oven and stove? How about how to clean it? Most important, how does it stand up to water?
Leo Becerra
And grease
Would this hold up in extreme temps? Thinking of wrapping my travel trailer cabinets - but I’m a weekend warrior so the TT sits outside.

Olivier Jajko the vinyl is to thick. In time it will lift where you stretch it. The less you heat and stretch the better.
Has it been heat tested? I mean some kitchens get pretty hot and steamy especially around hobs and cookers
I imagine it stretches if you pull on it . Do you have to be REALLY gentle to prevent stretching?
Watch this video. th-cam.com/video/MOQXQ4E3PhE/w-d-xo.html
For a perfect mitre the corners should overlap and make one cut through both and remove excess material.
Maybe you were not paying attention, that is exactly what he did.
Do you have the vintage cabinet wrap to match the refrigerator?
Did you double cut the middle section or is there overlap?
Could you not get the pattern on the outside edge to run together or away from the inner panel in the same direction by switching the direction of the vinyl?
At the time, I just wanted to show a customer on how to wrap a shaker door. I didn't know it would get these many views. :)

Todd Gun The product "Goo Gone" removes the stickiness of the adhesive after you take it off.
No it shouldn't be sticky after. But should it ,you just take your slick tongue and go to town on it.
With that kind of use of the knife, you need to re-wrap the door again, as all the corners will have small cuts from the knife.
Tuomo Mäkitalo
so true. no turning back.

time consuming is correct but damnnnnn this thing looks nice

Go on Facebook market place or Ebay and find use cabinetry.
Will this work on Laquered finishes?

Is it possible to wrap just the center of the doors? I'll be remounting door handles from the middle to the bottom corners. I don't want to bother filling the old holes and repainting.
