- Today we cover 5 of my top tips and tricks for LS in MHR:Sunbreak.
These will be useful mainly for newer players but even if you're an MH veteran you might learn something new- the tips are completely relevant to getting better at long sword and made with the new Sunbreak switch skills in mind!

Tip#6: You can use foresight slash to move through monster body parts that block or hinder your movement. Imagining you are fighting shagaru magala and you just got a topple but you hunter is in a not ideal position (i.e. near the belly) to do a helm breaker, his gigantic wingarms are blocking your way to his head, you can actually go near his forearms and do a foresight slash to move through all the arm shenanigans to reach his head instead of having to walk around his arms and waste quite some time cuz his arms are massive

The hyper armor is why I run full stun resistance lol
Never die to anything but stuns. Full stun resistance makes the game 1000% times better.

Glad to hear it man! Yeah, the arcade themes from LoL are pretty great and I definitely recommend you check out all the music riot has made over the years, a lot of it is just perfect for these kinds of vids
Actually you can heal without losing harvest moon if you attack directly after/during the animation. On the same idea, at the end of a spirit reckoning combo you can sheathe and unsheathe by attacking instantly and ut wont dispell HM. I believe this is faster than special sheathe so better to use if you only want to keep attacking and dont need to counter.
I know sheathing after a spirit combo and immediately draw attacking does allow Harvest Moon to still persist! That's a good tip tho, I should have mentioned it in the video

Yeah that first tip was really good. I will use Iai into Foresight A LOT. There are some new moves like double diving Seregios and Magnamalo that have some back to back moves where it'll come in handy. I've legit just been countering 1 part and getting hit by the other this entire time.

TSB has 1.5 sec of invincible, you could FSS into Iai then into TSB, I personally like SHC
@@holykonchu7250 what do the abbreviations stand for? I assume TSB is tempered spirit blade and FSS foresight slash but what is SHC? spirit helm... combo?

Just went from Switch to PC and gotta say counter is a lot easier with stable frames and 240hz
Too bad the game doesn't run at 240fps

I always got that drip fam
that layered armor set is Malzeno helm, high rank almudron chest, diver gloves, almudron waist, and astalos greaves. Almudron chest piece is modded with it's shapely variant from mh rise nexus mods, so it'll look slightly different if you use the original version

figured it ou you have to 1 have full red bar for the full combo to give you the roundslash or 2 use the counter manual to use the slash on the counter part of the skill

@@KazuYuuu will definitely check other videos out .. I haven't played base rise in about 6 months so gonna go practise LS against zingore in arena for a bit so can get the feel back as i'm pretty rusty before i head into sunbreak missions
Ok but how do you stop rolling when you wanna do a special sheathe like i always roll 70% of the time when i wanna do the sheathe 😭😭😭😭😭
hi i need help in tip 3# when i connect the ei spirit slash , I press RT to perform the Dividing Slash but but he doesn't do it , at what moment is RT pressed, or how is that movement done correctly, I was trying and sometimes it works out but I don't know how ,thank you !!! How do you do the forward movement foresight slash? Cant seem to get the inputs right
pull down on your analog stick to foresight slash away from the camera. The inputs are reverse since you are going backwards, so you would pull left if you want to foresight slash to the right and vice versa. You also have two chances to input and manipulate your direction, the first input (which has 360 degree control) occurs as you press RT+A to i-frame backwards and the second input (which you can only control up to 180 degrees) comes as you do the actual attack itself. It actually makes a huge difference for your positioning once you realize you have full control of which direction you foresight slash in!
Don't use Dango Moxie on slot 3 with the Hopping Skewers! It has a chance to not trigger on lvl 1

You can cancel the end of the sakura slash animation by either using a helmbreaker or the silkbind switch

RT button, you need to have spirit reckoning to do this attack (it replaces spirit blade III from the normal combo)
I need a good build? I played 2800 hours and plantnium MHW/icebourn but things are different here in rise/sunbreak. Im only MR 128. Started late. Lol. All builds are from 11 months ago. I put together a decent one with just a bunch crit eye and all the exploits. I see i need to advance anomoly quests to get the good gear. Playing on ps5, we a little behind. Lol
What build are you running in this video?
I'm running the elemental builds shown in my previous LS elemental builds video. I did layer some of the weapons so they look different than they actually should using a mod, for example the astolos LS being used is actually the zinogre LS.
4:46 how can you make the Magnamalo LS glows like that? mine doesn't look like yours.
The color of your blade is dependent on your spirit gauge level. It goes from no color, to white, to yellow, to red at max level, which is also indicated by the spirit gauge bar color. For some weapons, it's very noticeable and for others it's kind of hard to tell visually.

I thought sheathing makes harvest moon dissappear? How is he doing both sheath stances while in harvest moon?
It only disappears if you sheath normally

Only thing that hurts me is for LS who liked valor parry and just going in without sheathing - playstyle basically is pure sheathing now lol ( I tried relying on temper blade and jesus I think it is tighter window wise than valor)
tempered blade does have a pretty tight counter window, I think it's not so bad once you get used to it but I much prefer to use the sacred sheath counter and keep my silkbind as sakura slash
TSP if you land a parry has 1.5 sec of invincible, which is good for attacks that have quick multiple attacks that you can't parry chain
Cool video, try new style LS. Sakura slash till red into sacred sheath, rense repeat. This new style will increase dps significantly and its even better with wirebug wisp lvl3 and 3 wirebugs. Counters are fun but 1500 dmg on final hit of sacred is awesome.

I'd say it can be competitive with the traditional counter playstyle for some matchups, but do keep in mind a single iai spirit slash with harvest moon up can do around 1000+ damage in total, and helmbreaker is still the max dps strat for speed runners. I've seen SSC used for Valstrax runs tho, it's almost on par with GS!

@@KazuYuuu thanks, unfortunately when capcom said they would not imprement cross save i just kept playing on switch, no way ir estart from 0 in a gme that completly revolves around RNG XD
@@endarion88172 both myself and my friends all restarted on PC before sunbreak came out. I had about 150 hrs on switch but now I have 300+ hours on PC, it's was worth the reset to have the advantages of playing on PC but if you're already in sunbreak on switch then it might be too late xD
@@KazuYuuu my friends didn't want to reset either so...but honestly i'm not liking the expansion that much so yea for me personaly it's not worth the trouble
The best tip learn to counter and work on your dps you are crushing monsters not the opposite
if ur running dereliction swapping many times is stupid
it was used in the training area just so I could drain my health fast for demonstration. I don't recommend shifter with dereliction, but it's not terrible if you use it on elemental builds because bonus raw or element are both beneficial. Raw is still better than the bonus element even when using an elemental build, but again it's up to preference if you want more comfort or more damage.
Pls make bloodrite dereliction build, with stahrulteil LS.
unfortunately stahrulteil has less raw and significantly less dragon than either the valstrax LS or death stench LS, so it's suboptimal as a weapon choice for a dragon weapon. It does have +20% affinity is nice, but with the sliver of purple sharp would need at least 2 levels of protective polish to make decent.
I could definitely make a blood rite dereliction build, but it probably won't use that LS even tho it looks super badass ^^;

@@noblord8643 bloodrite + gourmet fish is honestly more than good enough to counter hp drain from dereliction, you just have to break a body part first to heal off of first
