I honestly find destroyer oil to be a waste of wirebugs, and with how good SnS's other wirebug moves are, it's hard for me to justify using it over throwing out another shield bash or keeping the bug ready for Metsu
I really wished it increased part breaking damage. It's in the name, ffs! *Destroyer* Oil! Sure, useless for speedrunners but it would be so comfy for casual players.
what i found out after using oil for some time was 1. it have an consideraby generous i-frame 2. 1st state:white 2nd state:red, when it's on red i feel it's easier to flinch monsters(still need more experiment tho) 3. it only affect your sword
@@conormaccarthy249 I think you're mistaken, they don't have the same multiplier. Partbreaker does technically increase stagger damage but only until the part is completely broken but not vice versa. So, Destroyer Oil does not inherently increase part break damage... I think.
Switch skill swapping is also soo good for sns specifically. It gave me so much freedom mid hunt to have red scroll set to sword-based skills and shield-based skills on the blue scroll. With this combo you can go for KO, headbreaks, or saving sharpness with the blue scroll or switch over to red if you have protective polish applied, need to apply status/elemental damage constantly, or want to sever the tail. Being an SnS main has never felt so versatile!
Same, I am kinda doing the other way around, I have headbashing on Red and Drill Slash on Blue and basically I focus on KO while the poison is up, switch to Blue when it runs out and go ham with Drill Slash to reapply and man it is fun. Also I had never used SnS a lot before and I am finding it kinda crazy how safe it feels sometimes. I have legit looked away from the TV mid-combo and mid-monster attack and turned back to being absolutely fine.
I preferred when i had instant access to all combos without having to change stances. I honestly dunno why they decided to do it like that and before Sunbreak there was no swap mid hunt at all. I was stuck with one stance i have started hunt with. this few extra moves with bugs wasnt enought for me to justify this change. Am I crazy?
@@Umakek Put it this way. Shield bashes are excelent at the begining and mid point but are not very useful for tail cuts for example nor in the later portion of the hunt where most monsters have resistence to stun where SnS simply isn't viable. With the switch you don't have to make the choice to either bash the monster like inferior hammer or make it inferior dual blades for cuts. SnS was always the most flexible that is the strength of the weapon. The more attacks this weapon has the better it is.
So I barely, hardly even glanced at Sword and Shield from Freedom Unite all the way through world. I picked it up in Rise and I was shocked how much I fell in love, decided to continue with it in Rise and holy crap this thing is FUN. I’m never sleeping on this weapon ever again.
Having a lot of fun with SnS also, but I’m still in MR3, so a lot to unlock yet. The mobility and resourcefulness are crazy good. Please make a video about your preferred SnS in Sunbreak. I’m using Rathian poisonous SnS most of time right now.
Malzeno sns for dragon element. Khezu or astalos for thunder, rathalos or aknosom for fire, water is odyssey or ludroth, ice I would say lunagaron is strong. Protective polish is very strong. I use it and evade extender2 on all my sets
Personally I use the Pukei sns for the natural purple and better slots, with 2 points of protective polish. The way I look at it is mostly I want to maximize poison uptime for Foray and the slots are also really helpful as I can get Daora Soul, Offensive Guard, and Wirebug Whisperer where Rathian needs Handicraft for purple, has no slots, and only has a level 2 rampage. From a utility standpoint Pukei has a lot of advantages but in specialized builds it's probably not a big deal as Pukei would lean more towards Foray builds and Rathin would probably focus more on attack and crit like more "normal" builds so it's really just preference
I’m so glad S&Sis feeling good, personally I’m just getting into MR 4 quests and am just starting to experiment with other weapons besides my Swag Axe, I grabbed the Lunagaron Hunting Horn and I am in love with the “Sharpness regeneration” song, I never drop below purple sharpness
i just picked up this weapon after using hunting horn and switch axe forever and i love it, the damage feels amazing and quick and the stagger potential is great
Liking the aerial playstyle of IG again, able to get my extracts while building charges for a devastating dive that KOs monsters. All without touching the ground.
Sunbreak SnS is a whole lot of fun, omg It's actually Hammer and Dual Blades put together now and I love it. I'm only MH2, but I've been going crazy with it, the shmovement and stun potential is just amazing so far. SnS is my all-time favorite and definitive main, but I also dabble in Insect Glaive and Gunlance, both of which are now super awesome too. I've been getting into Great Sword, it's real noice now too.
Honestly i would like to see SnS get its own special mechanic like bows coating or Kinsects, but we create oils that get applied buy the destroyer oil, and we can increase raw, increase element damage, and depending on what materials we use to make the batches of oil gives it some different effects, use Chamelos and Apex Rathian Parts inflict super poison, Volvidon parts get weak Para
I'm a hunting horn main and even though I'm not a huge fan of the egg or new combo the new silkbind that makes all my attacks hit twice has been stellar especially since it does extra exhaust/stun damage too so it makes kos so much easier to get. Can't wait to try out the other weapons I plays
As an SnS main since MHFU who bounced off of base Rise and went back to Iceborne, I have to say I'm very happy with the state of SnS in Sunbreak. Being able to change switch skills on command is a total game-changer, having the full repetoire of my moveset at my disposal makes a huge difference in how I play, I no longer have to choose before a hunt whether to focus on elemental and slash damage vs KO and sharpness management, I can now do either or both in a hunt just by changing scrolls. I'm a fan of the new moves as well. Overall I think this is the best SnS has ever been, which surprises me to say after my disappointment with base Rise.
The loss of the SnS ability to turn around whenever I like was the worst thing for me coming into Rise. The new combo doesn't quite solve them problem, but it helps.
Wasnt that the slash were you spin to where you want to face. I figured there is another button that allows you to turn around. It is bit more thiniky i feel but Press triangle+circle and what ever direction you want. It also is a stronger combo finisher when you do it after your shield bash combo. Edit: nvm it wasnt spinny. Eitherway we still have the more thininky version for repositioning.
I keep forgetting using Destroyer Oil too while playing SnS, but I dont really feel like it becomes a difference when actually using it. I still manage to flinch and knock over monsters just fine, so I dont know how much the oil increases the odds, of flinching and stunning monsters. Nontheless tho I love seeing it in-game and enjoying my time with my Espinas Poison pumping build I slapped together for SnS :D Also Shield Bash is a blessing, it feels amazing to close the gap, zoom over in mach 1 and be right up in their face again instead of running after the monsters all the time.
MR40 SnS main. I hadn't played around with the new x combo yet. I'll definitely give it a try after this. I have the rush move on both scrolls, metsu on main, windmill for tails on backup. I didn't find destroyer oil too useful.
My son was wanting to go back to hammer, but he just loves the feel of S&S even more now. He feels in control and able to always have an answer to whatever the monster is doing, even more so with Shield Bash.
I honestly dropped most of my weapons for SNS since elemental CB is really just chainsaw spam and most other weapons aren't interesting. I really just use Shoryu to avoid things and for damage and when that's not up I'll just parry with the scroll swap and I don't do much else than that, really just figuring out perfect rush now for the extra damage. I got decently lucky with a Redirection 2, Slugger 1 charm so using the Pukei SNS, with Mal-Esp-Esp-Squire-Esp I get max Defense, Crit Boost, poison attack, offensive guard, item prolonger, free meal, flinch free, wirebug whisperer, foray, and redirection with 2 points in Wexploit, protective polish, part breaker, and a point in slugger as 1 point is the highest value. Been really fun so far, honestly the main things I'd say are: just save wirebugs for shoryu and the Espinas Leg is kinda nutty as you get 1 Foray, max Flinch Free, and max Poison Attack while still having a 4 slot. Fun thing is I just use the same loadout on both scrolls so I don't have to worry about parrying and having to change combos which usually only comes up when Metsu is on cooldown and a note for CB users is if you're in chainsaw and you swap you'll lose it even if both scrolls are chainsaw so that's a bummer
I am having problems with the Shield Bash, i do have Guard Up 3, but there are several attacks that I seem unable to go through, do i also need Guard 5?
Guard up only makes unblockable attacks blockable (later levels makes it so that you dont lose all your hp fot it), you might want guard if you're trying to stack good blocking skills
Slight mistake here, my fellow Hunter. You want Guard, not Guard Up. I know, they sound so similar. Guard improves your blocking ability, by reducing knock back, stamina cost, and chip damage to your HP. Guard Up allows you to block additional attack, usually gas attacks or beams. I think that's the confusion here. Good luck out there.
@@dougvillegas8303 without Guard Up you simply cannot block certain attacks, my problem is not lack of stamina or chip damage, is being unnable to block some attacks, I am aware sword&shield has the worst block after greatsword
I've started and finished Sunbreak's story with SnS only. I only have 6 so i don't have to work very hard, but they're worthy of use. And i ALWAYS remember to apply Destroyer Oil; and Shield Bash was very useful for repositioning myself - usually closer to the monster- sometimes to dash straight into the monster's face and get some blunt damage. It can also block attacks when timed right... i think. I just need to watch where i'm going, since i have accidentally repositioned somewhere too far or hit the wrong part XD And i can't wait for you to upload SnS Sunbreak builds.
Sunbreak makes the sword and shield many times more versatile than it was in base game and I love it to death! Jack of all trades and yet I always find myself being able to fit in Wide-Range in my build.
Been maining SnS for a while. You are spot-on with this iteration being one of the best for it. The amount of constant pressure you can apply is just nutty. Sure, the numbers are HUGE, but a good SnS player is constantly hitting
I main SnS and I love how it feels in Sunbreak, The only problem I have about The new stuff is the oil and I was looking forward having it back in some way, but it’s just not as good as I was hoping it would be and I don’t really see a big enough difference when I’m using it or not. Anyway great video and it would be awesome to see some videos on builds for SnS at some point.
My only complaint is the window for the counter for Metsu. It feels like it’s so short compared to other weapons (looking at you Long Sword). It’ll trigger the wire bugs but not get the counter if the timing is a millisecond off. And also the fact that if you stun the monster with the opening/counter they move back and you miss everything
I'm a SnS secondary, once main until I went back to the Switch axe cause im a tri defender. I just love the versatility and the skill swapping is cracked on SnS
Never used s and s before. Just started using it in sunbreak. I am in love. Ig main in world. Charge blade main in iceborn. Swaxe main in rise. Now s and s and loving it.
I was never a big fan of SNS, the shield never felt good enough to merit building around, and the damage was never alluring enough. but i picked it up in sunbreak and so far i cant put it down. It really is one of those full circle weapons where you start with it in your first game then drop it for more complex weapons. then years later you go back to it and realize its actually beast. guarding light attacks for counter guard buff, put in some evasion for positioning and shield attacks for KO, topped with the speed for element and status, its just peak.
I picked it up again at endgame in iceborne because I hadn't really used it at that point in any of the older games. I was impressed how great it felt. Incorporating the shield into the attacks really made it the versatile weapon it was always sold as, and now it is a lot of fun to play. I'm going through base rise now because I couldn't play the game until recently but it's currently my main weapon. It really is a great weapon now.
I'm maining HBG with a dual blades set as a backup for when I inevitably get tired of being one-shotted by every monster in the late game. Having a ton of fun with both of them!
I love Shield Bash, but I call it Dash Bash! I’m with you all the way, Arekkz! I built every SnS in Rise, and I’m gonna build them all again in Sunbreak!
I don't remember to use it because I don't think Sns need a "power up" skill. Something that instantly let's you go into perfect rush and pressing X launches you into perfect rush or pressing A does perfect rush stationary. And they let you turn before you commit!
insect glaive main since they were introduced to the series. but sword and shield has been my secondary for a few games. in rise i find myself switching weapons waaaaay more often than any of the previous games every weapon is so much more fun in rise
How to do the side flipping jump like you did in the video? It is totally new to me, can anyone show me how to do it? I find it quite better to dodge monster attack, side step's range is way shorter than that.
Metsu Shoryugeki, Shield Bash, and Sliding Slash. The holy trinity. I honestly won't be able to play SnS in the next game if they take those moves away. This weapon is so good now, man.
I personally main Charge Blade, I absolutely love the new Wire dash silkbind. I did really enjoy SNS in base Rise, though it felt a little weird in the Sunbreak Demo, I’ll definitely be trying it soon
When first started my monster hunter experience I was a charge blade fighter cuz I thought it looked cool. I was a complete novice at the game and had no idea what I was doing at first lol. But once iceborne came into focus I swapped to the longsword and it’s been my go to ever since. Now with rise and sunbreak I’ve been exclusively sticking to longsword for main hunts. Yes back for base rise I did dabble with the charge blade and dual blades even the switch ax but I felt at home with the longsword. I have my blue scroll on almost all the time for my spirit meter accumulation and then swap to red for my heavy hitting attacks like the sacred sheath. When I unlocked the new silkbind moves for it I set my red scroll with sacred sheath spirit roundslash and tempered spirit blade with blue having the Sakura slash and special sheath and spirit reckoning. I’ll tell you the sword feels way more powerful than before.
You didn't mention it in the video but I think the big thing about the Twin Blade combo is that you can use it to loop the first 2 hits of the shield combo so Stick+A, A, X, this lets you repositon your attack and start the bashing combo again.
I'm a SnS main and I love it. In sunbreak it feels so much smoother and more fluid. Hope that I can make a valuable "Support" set now In Generations I played Aerial Para SnS and loved it. The monster was mounted, down or paralyzed most of the time. Yeah, it's not the fastest way to kill, but the control aspect was amazing. Hope in the Endgame there is a viable option now
I’m a Lance main. I do like a few of the new lances. I wish some of the shields or Lance could have been better than a little shield with a round pointy stick. I also like the silk move evade since Lance can get mobility. Favorite Lance has to be malzano or seregios. I do wish the charge blade shield was the lances but I agree s&s have a big variety of play styles
I used to have this crazy obsession with lances and spears, thanks to Final Fantasy. However, I tried the charge blade, and love it. I like the option to go berserk, and yet switch back to a blade and shield by just holding ZR. The only downside is, axe mode is very slow.
@@ThePonderor Right now, it's only the Defender(noob player here), and I have upgraded it three times so far. Initially, I only got Rise to get the kamura layered armor in MH stories 2. I am only at HR4 right now. I am learning that button mashing doesn't work. I was literally mashing ZR, X and A doing whatever. MH Stories is what got me into trying this. Rise is my first, So I don't know the weapons yet I really love the Kamura armor. The sword and shield is great, but then the CB came along, and I just decided to run with that. Dude, I feel like a poser since I have never played any of the previous hunter games. Let's see that is now two series I missed out on, this and Culdcept, lol.
I'm maining Gun Lance, but eventually when I hit high rank, I will branch out into Glaive and SnS, both of which seemed to have gotten a lot of love in Sunbreak. When I play SnS I love featuring the shield, so I can't wait to use shield slam.
I finally decided to finish sunbreak after putting it off since it released, and used a single lbg pierce build for the entirety and didn’t cart. But now post credits I’m trying to go melee again and can’t remember how xD
Having so much fun with SnS as well. The only thing that I was sad to see was that Power Prolonger doesn't affect Destroyer Oil. With or without it, it only lasts 45 seconds. That kinda sucks, but the rest of it just feels so, so good. I'm having fun switching back and forth with SnS and HH. Not sure which is my favourite.
Did they add the old infinite combo back in? I've been grinding with SnS for a couple days now, and I've definitely been able to cancel any of my regular attacks into a spinning round slash that leads directly into a new combo. I can point it in any direction, too.
I like that I can keep my scrolls split for stun and elemental damage. Hard basher combo and metsu to get in and stun the monster and then flip to drill slash and windmill for elemental or status. I found you can get insane amounts of blast in with the orange bishaten sns, blast up and teostra armor with teostra soul on the sns. it's almost like 3U slime. A don't use falling shadow anymore and always use shield bash because it has DISTANCE and hits pretty good and can block on the way. I had to close some distance on Narwa when they do their ring attack that basically takes up the whole area and it blocked it and I went through. Destroyer oil I found mediocre as I wasn't really getting flinches more frequent, in fact, I don't think I got any while using it and it doesn't last and it's hard to tell when it runs out. Overall tho, I've been having a lot of fun using sns.
Me go to weapons are Melody Mallet (Hunting Horn. I call it this because it just isn't hunting horn to me but is fun as its own weapon otherwise), S&S ofc, and Swag Axe
I just lovw that playing sns in sunbreak is like playi g hanmer and a cutting weapon at the same time, with none of the drawbacks and the mobility of a lightweight weapon. I k ow damage wise its nowhere near as potent as GS and maybe LS too, but it doesnt need to be. You're still gonna do really high damage and do status or consistent knock outs. Sns is a support weapon still but it can also be played offensively to great effect and that just makes it all the more fun
Great sword/heavy bowgun main with hunting horn when monsters get difficult and friends on. I keep trying the SNS because I love blocking and KOs, and I think im not doing it right. I love tank weapons
I mostly use SNS lately because its just... Great. I found the Twin Blade Combo somewhat lackluster, but being able to infinite off of it is a HUGE gamechanger there. I don't have Shield Bash yet, but I'm looking forward to it now. I also found the drill combo kinda meh, but I should give it a shot again, especially with elemental/status.
I love the S&S part of charge blade (Axe hopper OP though), so maybe I should give regular sword and shield a go for a while and play around now that I'm approaching MR 30
I got Rise back in the switch days when it released but with Sunbreak i got the game again and made my way back up to Narwa to get to Master Rank(honestly used some cheats because it was taking too long for me since it was all stuff i did before) My weapon of choice was LBG and sometimes HBG since i wanted to make use of mouse aiming Currently at MR 4 or 5 i forget which one you fight Gore and Espinas in, and i have been leaning more towards LBG over time But now i want to mix things up a bit, pick up a controller again and use SnS since i loved it in GU And dabble a bit in Gunlance every once in a while
SnS was my main before sunbreak but so far I've been almost exclusively using hammer due to Charge Spin being so satisfying to use with evade extender 3.
Agreed, Chaos Oil was kinda fun but I liked the versatility of all the oils you could take with you. As a Silkbind skill it just feels like a small passive buff rather than a direct choice of ailment you'd use.
So...what is the point of that last hit in the original combo? Is there anything special we're missing? It seems wierd that they would add a better more usable combo and keep the one we worked around.
I've been mainly using great sword in sunbreak which I've really been enjoying never really used it before in any other monster hunter. Looking forward to using sns again to tho
As a fellow swax enthusiast I’d say definitely go for it! Falling Shadow is similar-ish to the arial swax move. With both weapons I love that you can just yeet at the monster the entire fight. The back hop is super fun after you learn the timing of the dodge
I do enjoy SnS in Rise but they should have made oils items again, or at least bring back the chaos oil hunter art. Striker SnS from GU is probably still my favorite because of this.
I've been exclusively using the IG. Aside from some minor issues with the Awakened Kinsect (that I've gotten used to and worked around), and the Kinsect Spiker not aiming, I think IG is pretty much perfection.
moved from bow and hammer in base to great sword and s&s in sunbreak. both feel so good and been making some weird builds with gs that are just fun. who knew despite draw GS being nerfed to the ground it could still be so much fun?
GS is actually considered the best melee weapon in Sunbreak, Strongarm Stance is absurd. Quite the opposite of "nerfed to the ground" lol. I don't run Strongarm tho, I'm silly and use hunting edge elemental greatsword because this is the closest element on greatsword has been to viable, and hunting edge is really fun with it. Over 1000 damage per plunging thrust is really cool.
i know this is probably a dumb question, but how are you getting that display just above the wire bugs that shows the different attacks with the orange/blue flag in the middle?
I am a sword and shield and charge axe main, love the new combos amazing weapons as they always were, but it is better. Though recently switching ti the longsword and o boy monsters crumble against it !!!
I've been enjoying a lot playing SnS. I decided to ditch the oil since I could not see much of a difference and constantly switching between it and Metsu lead me to making mistakes more often than not since I still find hard juggling the two scrolls. For the time being I run both the red and blue scrolls with the same skills and abuse Redirection, Wirebug Whisperer and Offensive Guard to really spam Shield Bash and Metsu for the entire Fight, I'm starting to think that I will not be able to go without the first two in all my builds now that I'm getting used to it.
I started playing SnS at the end of Iceborne and loved it, but I'm actually not feeling it in Rise, granted I haven't played that much Sunbreak so I've yet to unlock all the moves. Hammer on the other hand, so much better in Rise (and it got some cool additions in Sunbreak) and feels amazing every hunt. I guess it's not super powerful judging by the tier-lists but it feels OP when you play it and I fail to understand why it's not more popular given how fun it is to play. btw, I mained GS in Iceborne and although it's apparently really good in Sunbreak it doesn't feel that much better to play so I'm not looking to go back anytime soon.
I got lucky and got a Talisman with Earplugs 2, Divine Protection 2 and two level 2 slots and run Hi-Ninja: Defense 7 Earplugs 4 or 5 Attack 4 Critical Boost 3 Mind’s Eye 3 Bludgeoner 3 Divine Protection 3 Ballistics 2 Evasion Window 2 Latent Power 1 Stamina Thief 1 Flinch Free 1 Diversion 1 541 defense 253 attack I found that you do MORE damage with green sharpness and Mind’s Eye + Bludgeoner than Blue Sharpness to everything except the head and my damage actually increases when my sharpness drops. Spinning reapers of 90 damage with blue on hard spots vs 118 with green sharpness. I think Mind’s Eye is great with blue sharpness too. But it is pretty monster dependent. Armor: Mizuha Cap Tigrex Mail Tigrex Braces Anjanath Coil Golden Hakama Absolute Petalace Earplugs +2 and Divine Protection +2 and 2 level 2 slots Jewels Defense x7 Attack x2 Protection x1 Drain x1 Diversion x1 Critical x1 Brace x1 It is super tanky and is my favorite build so far.
Honestly, I’m not running destroyer oil because of Redirection. Redirection is an amazing skill, but if both scrolls aren’t set to Metsu I risk pranking myself by not realizing I’ve Redirectioned to the non Metsu scroll when I go for a Metsu counter
Sns is a lot of fun. I was to use either Hammer or Switch-Axe after the Demo. But then I tried SnS and I love it. I just find the Destroyer Oil a bit underwhelming. I rather use Windmill on my second scroll for Monsters that are difficult to Metsu.
It's my favorite melee weapon right after the Gunlance wich for me is the most fun weapon in the game, especially with the new bullet barrage and...yea blast dash exists
For the story been using somnacanth sleep KO build, been getting super fast first and second sleeps and in every quest been getting 3-4 sleeps on the monster ( even faster of course with the food buff )
As an sns main I'm having blast in Sunbreak especially since I've been playing mostly with the magnamalo's sns. :D Shield bash is a great silkbind move for sure. For me it's mostly about that insane reach and being fast makes it also great combo resetter. Having said that in various situations I've found myself actually missing Falling Shadow as well so it's nice for these two silkbind moves being quite competetive. Sadly I can't say that about the Destroyer Oil which in my opinion is the contender for the worst silkbind move in the game. The problem is that the move costs you wirebug but it doesn't feel impactful at all. Switching back and fort just to apply the buff gets annoying really fast and the buff duration is rather short. Move itself looks kind of cool but does poor damage and has long animation commitment for it being of any use. I mean you can simply pull out Metsu to break parts or Windmill to cut the tail and do great damage at the same time. Honestly I would rather prefer to have bigger variety of oils as consumables. The oil in form of silkbind should do much more. Also one thing I like about the Chaos Oil is that it puts cool looking buff on your weapon but the effect we've got in Sunbreak is kind of meh. Twin Blade combo is a great addition. Also apprecite Perfect Rush got needed buff but I feel like they should improve some combo hitboxes as well because it very often misses even when you're next to the monster. Overall sns is a great fun and can agree on this iteration being the best so far.
wish Destroyer Oil applied partbreaker whenever you used it you know like its namesake in GU (just a minor pet peeve) anyways that shield bash is a game changer for me
Sword and shield gang
Gang gang

Wooo wooo
I honestly find destroyer oil to be a waste of wirebugs, and with how good SnS's other wirebug moves are, it's hard for me to justify using it over throwing out another shield bash or keeping the bug ready for Metsu

Liking the aerial playstyle of IG again, able to get my extracts while building charges for a devastating dive that KOs monsters. All without touching the ground.
Sunbreak SnS is a whole lot of fun, omg
It's actually Hammer and Dual Blades put together now and I love it.
0:06 that's some comedy right there lol
Was waiting on this one! 🙏🏾
You should play GU
Using parts of monsters isn't a good idea tho lol you'd need hundreds of the materials you want for every effect
That's how oils worked originally actually
nobody tell him
They did that already
Love SnS just wish that destroyers oil did more like part breaking or more ailments or elements. I’ll even take a random effect for fun
Destroyer Oil with Shield bash in tandem with Redirection and Slugger is an absolute blast.
It is bit more thiniky i feel but
Press triangle+circle and what ever direction you want.
It also is a stronger combo finisher when you do it after your shield bash combo.
Edit: nvm it wasnt spinny. Eitherway we still have the more thininky version for repositioning.
Just do roundslash?
I keep forgetting using Destroyer Oil too while playing SnS, but I dont really feel like it becomes a difference when actually using it. I still manage to flinch and knock over monsters just fine, so I dont know how much the oil increases the odds, of flinching and stunning monsters. Nontheless tho I love seeing it in-game and enjoying my time with my Espinas Poison pumping build I slapped together for SnS :D
Also Shield Bash is a blessing, it feels amazing to close the gap, zoom over in mach 1 and be right up in their face again instead of running after the monsters all the time.
Just started yesterday, been running GS’s Surge Slash combo exclusively. Loving it
MR40 SnS main.
Pierce HBG feels really good with the crouching stance and the new wirebug ring-o-max dps.
Also be aware that even with max guard there are still some attacks that will knock you back, so maxing it out isn't worth it. The sweet spot is 3.
@@dougvillegas8303 then it's a good thing i have Arlow's armour. It's got both.
It can also block attacks when timed right... i think.
I just need to watch where i'm going, since i have accidentally repositioned somewhere too far or hit the wrong part XD
And i can't wait for you to upload SnS Sunbreak builds.
Played sns for all of base rise but wanted to switch it up and started playing dual blades for sunbreak. Very fun
Ive been using dual blades during G1-G3 but Im typically an IG user. Something about the crab weapons looks so cool
Hope that I can make a valuable "Support" set now
In Generations I played Aerial Para SnS and loved it.
The monster was mounted, down or paralyzed most of the time. Yeah, it's not the fastest way to kill, but the control aspect was amazing. Hope in the Endgame there is a viable option now
Maining the Hunting Horn, the new silkbind that replaced eathshaker is amazing. Also enjoying sunbreak so far.
Off topic question but if I use the seed silk bind and play health rec song, does it heal me and everyone 2x?
I’m a Lance main. I do like a few of the new lances. I wish some of the shields or Lance could have been better than a little shield with a round pointy stick.
I also like the silk move evade since Lance can get mobility.
Favorite Lance has to be malzano or seregios. I do wish the charge blade shield was the lances but I agree s&s have a big variety of play styles
So Nargacuga and Tigrex lances have been dethroned?
Malzeno Lance is sooo cool. I'm sad that the final boss lance is better than it because I feel it looks a bit more boring
I used to have this crazy obsession with lances and spears, thanks to Final Fantasy. However, I tried the charge blade, and love it. I like the option to go berserk, and yet switch back to a blade and shield by just holding ZR. The only downside is, axe mode is very slow.
@@Joe_334 what’s ur fav CB. The Stelios is mine
But now post credits I’m trying to go melee again and can’t remember how xD
mainly main sns too but im in love with sacred sheathe on longsword having hated longsword prior to rise
I've been wondering about this! Did you lab it out, yourself?
@@nathanpetrich7309 I did, just in the training area using the stopwatch on my phone.
Granted I'm pretty late, but holy hell is Greatsword beyond entertaining, I'm loving the new combos and moves!
Can’t wait to see a build for sns from you
My guy Arekkz running the Garangolm SnS. Love the design ang power of the Golm
is that the SnS in his thumbnail?
I got Rise back in the switch days when it released but with Sunbreak i got the game again and made my way back up to Narwa to get to Master Rank(honestly used some cheats because it was taking too long for me since it was all stuff i did before)
My weapon of choice was LBG and sometimes HBG since i wanted to make use of mouse aiming
Currently at MR 4 or 5 i forget which one you fight Gore and Espinas in, and i have been leaning more towards LBG over time
But now i want to mix things up a bit, pick up a controller again and use SnS since i loved it in GU
And dabble a bit in Gunlance every once in a while
SnS was my main before sunbreak but so far I've been almost exclusively using hammer due to Charge Spin being so satisfying to use with evade extender 3.
Older games I did LS, World/IB I did IG, Rise I started SnS and Really enjoyed it, but through ALL of those my heart has been as a HH main
The beauty of oils in GU was the utility and variety. I feel that the one buff that is an (air quotes) oil, defeats the purpose of the oils.
I was a SnS main until CB was introduced, but I will make a new save to start fresh with friends and focus on SnS again after seen this
when you said do you mind i was looking for joey swoll to pop up XD
I've been mainly using great sword in sunbreak which I've really been enjoying never really used it before in any other monster hunter. Looking forward to using sns again to tho
I started using SnS when sunbreak came out, really having fun with it but haven't gotten to the dlc content
Loving sunbreak! I have been a switch axe main for a couple generations and thinking about adding SnS to the arsenal
Greatsword is godly now, you can do 8,000+ damage
i know this is probably a dumb question, but how are you getting that display just above the wire bugs that shows the different attacks with the orange/blue flag in the middle?
I'm a Switch Axe main. Boy does it feel good to not have to worry about the gauge due to Switch CHarger. I can go ham in sword mode and its Awesome.
I've been maining switch axe since World but now I think I need to try SnS. SnS is probably the only weapon in Mhr I haven't tried yet.
What's the current go to combo? Finish the x combo into the full a? Or go in with the A combo?
I got lucky and got a Talisman with Earplugs 2, Divine Protection 2 and two level 2 slots and run Hi-Ninja:
Defense 7
Earplugs 4 or 5
Attack 4
Critical Boost 3
Mind’s Eye 3
Bludgeoner 3
Divine Protection 3
Ballistics 2
Evasion Window 2
Latent Power 1
Stamina Thief 1
Flinch Free 1
Diversion 1
541 defense
253 attack
I found that you do MORE damage with green sharpness and Mind’s Eye + Bludgeoner than Blue Sharpness to everything except the head and my damage actually increases when my sharpness drops. Spinning reapers of 90 damage with blue on hard spots vs 118 with green sharpness. I think Mind’s Eye is great with blue sharpness too. But it is pretty monster dependent.
Armor:
Mizuha Cap
Tigrex Mail
Tigrex Braces
Anjanath Coil
Golden Hakama
Absolute Petalace
Earplugs +2 and Divine Protection +2 and 2 level 2 slots
Jewels
Defense x7
Attack x2
Protection x1
Drain x1
Diversion x1
Critical x1
Brace x1
It is super tanky and is my favorite build so far.
Been SnS Since the very first game. I cannot believe how powerful it is now.
For me switch axe is where it’s at, the most anime weapon I can get and the new counter is so sick!
I love S&S it is my strongest build/weapon/survivability but I tend to use every weapon consistently except the bow guns
It's my favorite melee weapon right after the Gunlance wich for me is the most fun weapon in the game, especially with the new bullet barrage and...yea blast dash exists
I completely forgot destroyer oil was a thing in Sunbreak.
For the story been using somnacanth sleep KO build, been getting super fast first and second sleeps and in every quest been getting 3-4 sleeps on the monster ( even faster of course with the food buff )
I've been playing tons of insect glaive and gunlance, mainly gl, it has been soooooooo fun
As an sns main I'm having blast in Sunbreak especially since I've been playing mostly with the magnamalo's sns. :D
Shield bash is a great silkbind move for sure.
My mains are gunlance and hunting horn and GL feels amazing in sunbreak
wish Destroyer Oil applied partbreaker whenever you used it
you know
like its namesake in GU
(just a minor pet peeve)
anyways that shield bash is a game changer for me
Is it possible to see your build somewhere?
Really enjoyed the gameplay
I played so much hammer post release, it became my most used weapon.
used CB in rise, now in subreak i am using SNS. very fun
Awesome Arekkz.... what's your armor set and skills?
2:48 It's like I'm seeing Dante's or Nero's combo that's attack forward while dash (forgot the name)
