My parents said I cant get a bike while I live under their roof, the second I finish university I am buying an iron 883 and I'm gonna go ride in the country. Lives to short to be scared and not riding.
as I said time ago, your videos are addictive and this one is no exception. Im drinking a nice coffee and enjoying the scenery. Greetings from Mexico city, amigo. Cheers
Hello friend! After owning an 883 for a year, I jumped to an 09 Dyna. The 883 was so fun, but riding 100+ miles a day in 80+mph traffic would leave me so sore the whole day at work and I would be mush by the time I got home. Ride safe!
Wow , i'm in love with that 883. Hope one day i get the chance to buy an 883 and travel through this roads like you were in this video. I'm from Detroit. Nice video!
What a Beautiful Drive and No Traffic LOL....i Live in Los Angeles Area and its Crazy Here on Freeways....Will Finish Harley Rider Academy in 2 Weeks and Plan on Buying The 883 iron Soon After...Thanks For Nice Video...Stay Safe.
I ride a honda rebel 1100, but every time i see this iron 883 on the street i fall in love with them. Its funny because i dont like the harley 48.. but the iron 883 have something they make it look awesome even stock.. Btw Great ride
Holy shit, as another 883 rider, this is so cool! I was on the fence about the small drive from central Florida to outside of Atlanta but damn I can't really say no now. haha
Should have taken highway 77. It's shorter! And it has a fun straight run coming off the Shirley rim. Plus you can see Chalk Mountain better on that highway. It's kind of creepy though because it used to have one of those huge microwave relay stations on it in case of a nuclear war.-A Wyoming native!
Even 5 years after you uploaded this video, you're still responding to comments, I very much respect that I have some questions I have a 250cc single cylinder bike that I get up to 70+ mph for sustained periods (30ish minutes) on backroads and such, even highways. I'm close to having the throttle pinned at that point So the vibrations at that speed are pretty bad as you can imagine, would you say the 883's vibration would be as bad something like that at those same speeds? I'm looking to jump to an 883 as a second bike, but I would like to get some more highway miles under my belt, I'll probably end up getting one anyway But I am curious to hear what someone who has driven these on long flat empty highways thinks about it Cheers! Alex
Hi Alex, thanks for reaching out! You definitely get vibrations at 70+ but they're manageable. I do notice that after a few hours of riding at highway speeds that my fingers feel this weird tingling sensation - especially if they tap anything. It's not painful, just really weird and dissipates after 5 minutes or so. I love the Iron and think you'd probably enjoy it as well. It's nice to not have to pin it back going 70. You'll certainly be in top gear at those speeds though. I hope this helps! Let me know how you like it if you do decide to go with the Iron.
Right Motos hey how much was the 4.5 gallon tank to get put on and any troubles with it? Also about what mpg you getting? Planning on taking the iron to denver from Ga so looking at that stuff. I'm deffintly getting a new seat for it and was going to get a sissy bar and bag to drag my stuff along.
I've been tossing around checking out this 883 down the road, but since my bike is basically my ride I was kind of worried about how it'd perform on longer trips. Guess those worries were unfounded lol. Gonna check it out for sure thanks to this video!
I certainly did go cross country on my 883! I can't wait to do it again either. I did around 400 miles each day and avoided as many crowded highways as possible. Thanks for watching! Where are you in Europe? I'd love to ride through all the countries there!
I'm in France, you are welcome my friend. Anytyme for a good ride. I hace so many questions to ask you about the 883 going cross country. Do you think we can exchange email. It will be short don't worry;)
France is a great country from what I've seen. I've been to Paris, Versailles, and Nice. They were all beautiful! You can e-mail me at rightthingmotos@gmail.com
Oh yeah you've been there, that's great. I will email you and try to be short for you to tell me your feeling about certain questions I cannot answer at the moment. Thanks a lot.
Hahaha. Yeah, the semi audible chatter is kinda annoying. I didn't realize at the time that the gopro would pick up my conversations with my buddy when it was strapped to my chest and I was moving at speed.
Not many curves but still an amazing road.. how many miles/gallon does your bike give ? Or in other words how often you refill the tank when you are riding those long roads? Nice video!
Ivan Alba Hey Ivan, I get around 100 miles before the gas light comes on when I'm riding long, open roads and I can push the bike to around 130 miles per tank if I'm lucky. It's always good to fill up whenever there's a gas station before undertaking these big empty stretches. I came close a couple of times on my cross country trip to running out of gas completely. I even brought along a 30 oz. gas container but fortunately never had to use it. Thanks for watching!
Ivan Alba Leadfoot2112 The bike is an 883 with mods. I don't have the 1200 kit yet but I'm hoping to bore out the engine in the next year or so. Riding the long back roads can get a little hairy when the tank only has about 120 miles in it.
That's the kind of motorcycle riding I like. Out on the open road with no traffic. I bet it's even more beautiful when the sun is out. How many miles did you travel before stopping for gas? Who were you talking to? I didn't see another rider. Thanks for sharing. I might come that way when I get my Yamaha Raider. Thanks again.
+C'mon Mann Open road rides are my favorite kind of riding as well. I can get around 100 HW miles before the light comes on and I pushed 120 miles once and didn't run out of gas; although, I know for sure that I was close. I was talking to my friend through a blue tooth on the ride which is why you hear me mumbling a bit. We did this cross country trip together. He was on a Ducati Monster. If you ever ride out to NYC, hit me up and we can cruise around the city. Thanks for watching!
I've been customizing the Iron since I bought it last July. One of the most important upgrades was the front and rear suspensions. I have progressive shocks both in the rear and in the front and that's helped tremendously. I also put on a Biltwell seat that's more comfy than the stock seat. I remember my first long ride from NYC to upstate New York in Boonville. The trip took a little over 5 hours and I was sore for the next week. After upgrading the suspension system and the seat, I don't really have that problem anymore. Best of luck to you in your travels and thanks for watching!
tjon901 I'm not a big fan of the fairing just because I don't like how it looks on the bike. As for the bugs, I definitely caught a ton on my helmet. I use a full face helmet and would wipe it down at every gas station.
Respect for still responding to comments. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe.
I can sleep to this sound lol
It really is so relaxing. Soul fuel.
That was great. Truely the Harley experience. That was good for that motor. Mine is all carboned up. Thanks for the vid. Great battery on the camera.
Thank you so much! I may have had the gopro plugged into an external battery at this point. My new gopro only lasts 45 min max.
the absolute freedom of Wyoming, something you wont find anywhere else in America
It's gorgeous!
My parents said I cant get a bike while I live under their roof, the second I finish university I am buying an iron 883 and I'm gonna go ride in the country. Lives to short to be scared and not riding.
Enjoy the ride!
Why would they say that in the first place
I"ll take that: "Lives to short to be scared and not riding."
wow would definitely love to do that ride. Looks sensational, fun & relaxed.
I hope you get there one day - it's definitely a beautiful ride! Thanks for watching!
as I said time ago, your videos are addictive and this one is no exception. Im drinking a nice coffee and enjoying the scenery.
Greetings from Mexico city, amigo. Cheers
Thank you so much! This really means a lot. I'd love to take a ride through Mexico someday.

Thanks for watching! I usually ride in NYC and all that exists here is traffic. It's nice to know places like this exist.
Road like in the movie Mad Max, Greetings from Poland !
This sound he invaluable
Thank you!
Nice bike.... proof the 883 is plenty for all except long distance touring.... like 2000 miles worth.
Very true! I think it's all about the rider. I took this bad boy all the way from Brooklyn to San Fran.
I ride a honda rebel 1100, but every time i see this iron 883 on the street i fall in love with them. Its funny because i dont like the harley 48.. but the iron 883 have something they make it look awesome even stock.. Btw Great ride

Thanks so much for watching!
@@RightThingMotos no problem, its not first video from You what iv watched all, You ride well and Your bike is great.
@@smrod1993 I really appreciate that! Thank you so much!
he greets everyone, i like it.
Hahaha, I'm glad you noticed that! On these long and empty roads, it's fun to give everybody driving past a quick hello. Thanks for watching!

+KBB174174 Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely have to give 77 a ride whenever I head that way again. What a beautiful part of the country!
I think Im going to ride my Iron from Baltimore to Phoenix instead of hauling it in a uhaul or shipping it (yikes).
Hell yeah! How'd the trip end up?
what I like about this is, none of that heavy metal shit music to listen to, simply the sound of the engine.
Even 5 years after you uploaded this video, you're still responding to comments, I very much respect that

Where did you get the speedometer mount? I want to lay mine down like that.
It's from Roland Sands.

Nice! I think the Iron is great for longer trips.
How damn empty the road is...Where do the road lead to from the starting point to end point
This was a tiny round about road that led from some town in Wyoming to somewhere around Casper. I don't remember exactly.
Very good video . . . .
Thank you!
You really went cross country with your 883 ? Amazing. This bike rocks. How many miles done per day ? Hello from Europe.
I certainly did go cross country on my 883! I can't wait to do it again either. I did around 400 miles each day and avoided as many crowded highways as possible. Thanks for watching! Where are you in Europe? I'd love to ride through all the countries there!

How thirsty in gas the iron 883? I really to know. And how many miles to refueling?
I get around 100 miles before the light comes on.
It was that you were jumping a lot on the seat, is it true that the 883 has a stiff suspension in which you feel every slightest bump on the road?
The stock suspension is kinda shit but I upgraded the front and rear suspensions and that helped a lot.
sorry, you say something? lol. nice ride. tnx.
Hahaha. Yeah, the semi audible chatter is kinda annoying. I didn't realize at the time that the gopro would pick up my conversations with my buddy when it was strapped to my chest and I was moving at speed.
How manny hours did you get??
I got more than enough!

Hello com Brasil. Nice video
Thank you! I love Brasil - at least what I've seen in my travels. Beautiful country.
Are there any changes you would make to the bike before doing another cross country trip?
I've been customizing the Iron since I bought it last July. One of the most important upgrades was the front and rear suspensions. I have progressive shocks both in the rear and in the front and that's helped tremendously. I also put on a Biltwell seat that's more comfy than the stock seat. Right Motos No need for wind protection? Like one of the small bug screens or the cafe fairing people like to put on irons.
tjon901 I'm not a big fan of the fairing just because I don't like how it looks on the bike. As for the bugs, I definitely caught a ton on my helmet. I use a full face helmet and would wipe it down at every gas station.
How is your mpg with the sportster?
I get around 100 miles before the gas light comes on.
How long did it take for you to get used to riding past 70 MPH without a windshield?
It takes me about 10 minutes to realize that I'm gripping onto the bike for dear life. After that, I relax the death grips and it's all good!
Your bike seems to be way to noise how do you enjoy it ?
It's like riding thunder.
lol at 8:00
My ass fell asleep.
I’m using a pic of this for my cover of my next track. Is that okay?...
The pic is POV of this lovely bike :)
