Absolutely love this content! Please keep it coming!! :) I did notice this video skips the very start of each game, and I personally miss it. I have fun watching the early decision making and the little mind games of who techs or expands first. But I know that's just me speaking for myself! Not sure how others feel about it. Either way rock on for making such fun BA casts!
Since the hosting of these is super basic at the moment in beta the players are often starting the game when I'm in the middle of talking to twitch chat or doing something else so I'm a bit slow to intro each game, will work on making sure we don't miss anything in the future
5:18: That was painful 😬 6:15: "forgot to consider the Mortars" 😂 Yeah, that makes a difference ;p Not a fan of the Behemoths though; not enough single-target. 6:43: This is where they lost. Walking all the Mortars right into the enemy's face is such an obvious mis-step🤦♂ All they had to do was a bit of leap-frog. 9:56: Needed a bit of stutter-step on the Destroyers to keep them alive one more shot. Didn't even matter though. Losing the army was losing the war. 13:04: Brooo, why would you send the Crabs into Destroyer range!? Didn't even target the Scorps onto the Destroyers... Crabs did not need to die for this 😭 That was a brutal "That's not how you one-base cheese, THIS is how you cheese." 16:30: Yeah, I don't care what tech he has, it ain't reversing the loss of all his bases... 16:50: That's way too many Destroyers. You don't need more than a few to kill the big guys. What you need is enough other units to protect them. 21:26: This was a big mistake. He could have taken out the Falcs and maybe saved the base if he'd moved the homeboys up and recalled they away team.
Now granted, I've never played a MOBA, or even really watched them, for that matter, so take this with a grain of salt, but this looks closer to a MOBA than an RTS.
I think this series - especially the first few games - really displays the issue with king crabs right now. They do too much, and having one run-by on a base means 50-100% of your workers are basically gone due to their effectiveness against them, even if you have some t1 units there to defend or spot it. On top of that they also don't care terribly much about mortars so there's really no good way to defend against them except for destroyers, but the problem with destroyers is that they are bad against everything else whereas king crabs are good against everything else.
I think king crab might do a bit more damage than they need to especially to bases, but it's not that bad and certainly not unbeatable, I think the losses in this game were strategic losses rather than anything else.
I dont know if you are in contact with the dev team, but if you are, you may want to suggest the colors of the units being more differentiated between the players. Other than the health bars, it can be kind of hard to tell who is who when the fights get big.
pretty sure it's just an early access thing. adding color differentiation is a pretty simple and cheap thing to do, just a few tweaks in the editor. so they're probably just planning to do it a bit later
I think king crab needs to be tuned down a bit... Right now it feels there's not much to be done against one base KC all in. If you got a base early on you just don't have any answer. Your tech is too delayed to defend and your income doesn't get out fast enough for your base to pay off (plus KC just demolish your workers in no time)
You expand, they tech in respond, you need an answer that exists at t1... If you don't have one it's not like you don't know that from the jump. In that scenario don't do an expand vs their tech, right? That seems like an easy one, not a unit issue. At t2 you can have destroyers that literally hard counter their goal unit.
@@jpVari so basically game will always be one base vs one base without any possibility to expand. Thanks for making the game so great and so fun. There should DEFINITELY be a T1 response and you should be able to defend with a fast expansion as well. Anyone in the higher levels would tell you that. If you make KC that strong that it makes expanding not viable you fucked up. It forces both players to just wait and wait and wait and wait again for no reason for the other player to do something
On the inevitable Stormgate vs Battle Aces chatter, BA is trying "new"-ish things. No one looks at it and says "its just a mod of-..." Some unit readability isn't the best in BA, and its a bit too fast, but I think it has fewer problems than Stormgate dumping on people who give feedback.
As someone who has given up every rts i have ever tried because i couldn't focus on the macro during fights. Yeah, battle aces really is new, ive been looking for something like it
@@gwentarinokripperinolkjdsf683 sometimes when I wait for a larger game to load up, or I wait for my team to father for another game I could totally see popping this open for a round or two. Sometimes I open up free cell to burn a few minutes. It certainly could have a niche
@@gwentarinokripperinolkjdsf683it's fun and it's great to learn rts fundamentals. They're rewarded pretty strongly I think. Seems like it could be a really good game.
Hey Pig, thanks for casting this.
FYI: I watch SC2 replays from 1.25-2x speed. This game doesn't need that. Love it.
That's because you are not use to Battle Aces replay yet

Destroyers are also good against litterally any durable ground unit

I have been loving this Battle Aces content man!
I feel like I didn't watched an RTS battle. Instead a Syfy tennis match. It's pretty cool tho.
Luv it, keep it coming PiG!
King Crab/Destroyer have been in my deck like 90% of the time. So strong

Workers taking a full 10% of a match to respawn is mental. Way too long.
What about 1 base kingcrab-destroyer with scorpions?
super good!
bump
