    AAA content. Focused, committed, beautiful. The way you handled the arraying of your [Curvature + Shrinkwrap target] made me wonder whether you had explored the use of Collection Instances, and rejected those, for some reason. At first sight, there seems to be a lot of opportunity to use those to organize elements of your project... but maybe they would just be confusing.

    Glad I found your channel. Want to get into do castles and a lot of medieval buildings with a lot of Arches. My first issue is mirroring, when I do the first mirror in the x and y, I get a full circle. Using Blender 3.4 and 2.9.3 same result. Everytime I try to extend it the insertion and extrusion in the column disappears and I am left with a smooth looking column. Does anyone know how to fix it? 😭

    Hey, thank you for this amazing tutorial. Been working with blender for quite a while and still learned some amazing things. To be fair, modeling is not my strongsuit.
    I have a question i think somebody already asked but i still have trouble. At 0:59 you extrude the edges until they clip. It seems like they snap on to each other. Whenever i try it it doesn't snap and i have to do it by eye which i think creates an unwanted face in the middle of the bridge.
    Edit: Just tested it, i don't think the edges overlapping is the problem. For whatever reason there is a face appearing in the middle of the bridge that fucks up the whole mesh if i delete it.
    Thanks in advance and again, thanks for the great tutorial!

    • @hbitproject

      Hello, do you have a picture/.blend file to share?

  • @ReverseAltruism

    I've only faced one issue and it's apparently my subdivision that's revealing the curves' edges in the middle and at the corners, pretty much everywhere the vertices meet at 12:41. So far I believe I've followed everything precicesly the same but for some reason my subdevisions are giving me issues when I use the shrinkwrap. Your curve at 12:43 is so beautifully smooth where mine is revealing strangely revealed edges and corners.

    • @hbitproject

    I know its not architecture but I would love a tutorial on making a tire, making the tread and having it wrap around properly is hard to pull off.

    • @WaterShowsProd
      @WaterShowsProd 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's similar to the method he uses to put decorations around the arch. Create a piece of the tread and apply a curve modifier with the curve running around the circumference of the tyre. Adjust the number and edit the size of the tread until it matches up properly. You want to make sure it's set to allow the tread to bend as it goes round, unless you are making caterpillar treads for a tank or construction/heavy industry vehicles.

    • @hbitproject
      @hbitproject  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello and thank you! The holes are obtained by insetting each single face of the arch, so my guess would be to check the topology (maybe you extruded and didn't use the mirror modifier when adding depth to the arch at the beginning?) Cheers!

      @@hbitproject First of all, thank you for the quick answer!
      I have now looked through my old save files (someone very clever recommended that I use several files for such tutorial videos) and rebuilt the beginning.
      I think it's really only because at 1:08 you chose the width of your arc so that the faces are square. I made my arc wider and the holes are now rectangular. I can still change that.

      Make sure that the origin point of the impost is right at the center of the world (same for your arch).

    I make step by step with your tutorial but i found some problem, because i can't disable rounded courner in the upper wall. when i turn off then is problem with mesh and geometry. so i dont know is blender with full of bugs or other problem. You have also round courners.

      If I understood your problem you can simply select the two edges at the corner and crease (SHIFT-E) them 👍
