It’s cute but it would be much better if the bed has its own space, and the kitchen is instead connected to the workspace. Imagine sleeping and smelling leftover scents from food or general kitchen scents? Or turning your head on bed and see the sink?

Honestly I really like how this turned out, and I'm not really a big fan of the whole kidcore astetic but this build was really cool.

If I was in this class, I would have been the biggest teacher’s pet 😂
Personally, instead of a teacher, I'd have made Petri a doctor, since I'd imagine she'd probably be overqualified to be a teacher, though might visit the classroom from time to time to help with chemistry lessons, or training other doctors and nurses, with Lucky being her favorite teaching assistant, given how many traumatic injuries the poor guy's probably sustained throughout his lifetime.
Also, like with other villagers' households, I'd have attempted to have made sure that Petri's 6x6-space household would've had the following rooms and amenities:
- A bathroom with a toilet, a bathtub or shower, a mirror, a cabinet and/or shelf for storing personal hygiene products, a light, a light switch, an optional sink (since I figured a bathtub or shower could've also been acceptable for washing one's own hands), and one or two partitioning walls to keep the bathroom private.
--- For Petri, I'd imagine the bare minimum of a toilet and a walk-in shower would've sufficed, which could be as small as a 3x1 space (not counting the partitioning walls, which could add an extra 0.5 spaces to both of the floorplan's x and y axes).
- A kitchen with a fridge, a sink, a dishwasher, a general-purpose cooking appliance such as a microwave, conventional oven, or toaster oven, an electric light, a light switch (which could also pull double-duty as a means of turning on/off any garbage disposal features that the kitchen sink might have), and plenty of cabinets, cupboards, and shelves for storing all manner of dishes, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and cooking ingredients. For most villagers, this could all probably be crammed within a 3x2 space, though more skillful cooks would probably appreciate having more storage and counter space for more specialized cookware, such as a juicer, food processor, mixer, deep-fryer, and coffeemaker to name a few.
--- Although Petri might be able to apply her chemistry knowledge towards her cooking skillset, I doubt that she'd want or need a kitchen that's bigger than the basic 3x2 floorplan that it needs to be, which would typically be a fridge, a kitchen sink, a dishwasher, and a conventional electric oven with stovetop, plus cabinets mounted overhead. Nonetheless, that'd still grant her kitchen enough space to add, say, a coffeemaker for those late-night shifts at the hospital.
- A bedroom with a bed, a desk with chair for privately writing or using a PC, a wardrobe or closet for storing clothes, an electric light, a light switch if said light source isn't one of those wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted light sources (such as a floor lamp or desk lamp), a window, and an optional mirror for seeing how nicely-dressed the villager is. Although all of these could easily be crammed into a 3x2 space if using one of those bunk beds with the desk on the bottom, which could work nicely for most of the single-only villagers, for those villagers who are presumably either married (such as many of those older cranky, snooty, and sisterly villagers), have a child (such as the kangaroos), and/or would like to have a lover (such as many of the more mature-looking smug, jock, normal, peppy, sisterly, and even lazy villagers), then a double-bed would be highly recommended, which would push spacing requirements up to roughly a spacious 3x4 footprint. Oh, and the bedroom would've likely been the best place to put a wall-mounted air-conditioning unit within for making those sleepy nights all the nicer and comfier.
--- Being the more mature-looking, nerdy, and attractive-looking mouse that she is, I'd imagine that Petri would've definitely appreciated one of those more spacious 3x4 bedrooms that could fit a double-bed, a mirror (since she wears eyeshadow, and styles her hair), a wardrobe, and a desk with a PC.
- A living room with a table, plus chairs and/or couch, for seating at least 2 people, a TV (preferably in front of the chairs and/or couch), a cabinet or shelving for storing things like books, movies, videogames, and/or tabletop games (such as board games or card games), at least 1 electric light, a light switch (especially if the lights are wall or ceiling-mounted instead of being floor or table-mounted), and a window, all of which should fit within a 3x2 area (assuming that a wall-mounted TV is being used, and that the couch can be entered from the side). I'd also imagine such a room being ideal to stick a radio or a music player within, along with a wall-mounted phone, and some optional add-ons (if you're willing to add the extra space), such as musical instruments. Bonus points if the table has food, drink, and/or games on top.
--- I doubt that Petri would've needed anything more than the basic 3x2 living room floorplan.
- A washing machine and dryer to quickly wash and dry clothes in.
--- I believe someone like Petri would've definitely appreciated the ability to wash and dry her clothing in her line of work, whether as a doctor or as a chemist.
- Finally, and this may be optional, and assuming that the villager isn't living within an apartment or rowhouse, a fenced-in front and/or back yard for hosting parties and/or cookouts, growing flowers or crops, playing sports games, and housing a garage or shed, where personal projects might be worked on, to name a few.
Oh, and as for where Petri would've stored her lab equipment, methinks it would've all been stored outside of her residence, such as the lab, hospital, school, or other workplace that she'd normally commute towards.
