    Nice video but i somehow doubt Honda uses a 9/16 bolt for the blades . If you cleaned up the bolt I would say it’s a 14mm.

      I've seen on two TH-cam videos on blade removal referring to 9/16 however mine was 14mm as well.

    Thank you, very helpful. Wasn't clear how many times to smash with hammer, but I figured it out.

    Thanks for video!!! Before I watched it, I sharpened my blades and had them flipped the wrong way. It was hitting shroud inside. Made mower shake when starting and shutting down. Pay attention to how blades are orientated when replacing!!!!

    12 point gives you better interface . Best way to measure center line points is burry an inch line the 1 " line to the far left of the left hole then measure to the far left of the right hole and thats an accurate way to measure and then subtract the 1" burrying the inch gives a better visual as those hook ends move for hooking a board or measuring wall to wall has to account for its width. Thaks hammer is great help

    I have a 11 year old honda mower. Swapped the original blades last year with a legit honda blades. Installed and ran over the same yard, same few stumps but the mew blades got bent like they are made out of light aluminum. Tryinna find a replacement again.

    You should buy the blades designed for the specific mower. If your mower model number begins with HRR, buy the blade made for HRR machines. I think you installed a blade intended for the HRX model. I could be wrong but don’t think so. I know because I bought a used Honda mower which had the wrong blade on it. When I installed the correct blade it cut and operated much better with less clumping of grass against the inside mower deck. For the Hondas I believe there are three different blades available, each one specific to HRR, HRX etc models.

    Think I have a newer model than yours, hrn 216, only new mower I've ever bought but very disappointing in the way it cuts and pick up suction, seems like the blade was dull out of the box and has horrible debris pickup compared to every 10-year-old Craftsman I've ever owned. I was wondering if that two blade design was to fault? Some spots I have to go over three or four times to get all the grass to cut, like the grass is being cut with a 2x4 rather than a blade LOL. Otherwise I love the operation of it.

    Also you go on about the difference between 12 and 6 point sockets but use a bigger socket . Now that will round a bolt head.

    • @Archifx
      @Archifx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Used a 6 p on that bolt

    • @MJA5
      @MJA5 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Archifx the point being you actually used the wrong tool. A 12 point 14 mm socket would work fine. When is the last time you saw a 12 point fastener? The 12 point socket is designed for ease of use, not 12 point bolt heads. Not being a dick, just kinda pointing that out.

      Gets the job done either way. Torque in this bolt isn’t high enough for a difference to be critical
