I just finished repairing my own Sony TC-377 and they are truly beasts of machines... sound very good!
They really can. But then, most 3 head reel to reels do!(not because they have 3 heads, but because they're a little bit more upmarket)

I love thrift stores
Me too, although many of them are severely overpriced.
I don't think that those 90s/2000s boomboxes are desirable despite some of them sounding better than some 70s/80s classic boomboxes that sell for hundreds if not thousands of dollars.. the classic one piece boomboxes look so much better though..
