This gave me the motivation I needed to clean mine. I’ve been so lazy about it and it’s been barely putting out steam unless it’s up in the air. You’re pups are adorable 🥰
Thank you so much for posting I have bought so many steam cleaners which stopped working and I threw them out. This fixed my shaky floor mop, I do have a few spare ones now with this fix. This may mean I will never have to buy another one again. Yes the vinegar stinks but it cleaned my drains out amazing ❤
Good to do this outside, not only for the smell. My friend who works at a chemist mentioned that boiling vinegar can be toxic in a closed room with poor ventilation.
I was looking for instructions on how to use my new steamer when I stumbled upon your video. It was a great reminder for me to descale my steamer quarterly at the very least. Thank you. It seems like I’m always descaling something around here.😅
I’m so glad that you found this video helpful! Something I recently found out is that you can buy packs of descalers on Amazon instead of using vinegar!
Hi! I had this happen to me recently!! Freaked me out..hot water splattering everywhere! I cleaned mine with vinegar and distilled water as per instructions online! I too am guilty of not using distilled water! Thanks for sharing, as alot of us are probably in the same boat!
@@TailoredAndTeal yeah.. my only problem is I lost my bonnets in my move and I can't find replacements without buying the whole thing. And the shark site says it's in stock but won't let me add to cart
@@ThriftJeneration you could probably makeshift your own with a thin towel and a rubber band to hold it in place?? The bonnet is just a Terry cloth material.
I was lucky enough to thrift one of these yesterday… great video, thanks! Is the bonnet cotton (like a bathroom towel) or synthetic microfibre? Mine didn’t include one and I can’t seem to find the details, or replacement bonnets online. Now, armed with your info, I’m off to clean my steamer!
Nice score on the second hand find!! Yes the bonnet is like a towel or Terry cloth material. But you can totally use a clean sock and a rubber band around the hose to secure it. I’ve used that method a ton when my bonnet was dirty. Good luck! 🤞
Hi Melinda, I am going to have to try this as I found a used Rowenta stand up steamer at the thrift store of. It works well and I have been using distilled water in it but I think that the person that owned it before didn’t!
Hi i just tired but it did not work, I opened from bottom, and test all elements, fuses and its elements all of them were ok , but the inside the element was full of mass I do not know maybe it is done 😢
Shortly after making this video, mine started leaking from the bottom so I had to buy a new one. 🫤 These fabric steamers are only built to last for so long so maybe it’s time for you to get a new one too!
Wow can she yammer on about nothing. I had to dbl the speed just to get thru it. Folks, use 1/2 vinegar-1/2 water, run it, dump mixture, fill/run one more time with clean water, done.
People need to learn to read directions and the directions probably say to ONLY USE DISTILLED WATER. I use it in my stainless steel kettle and it stays lime and scale free. I guess people like to ruin things because they're too smart for directions 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Happy to give you the motivation to do so! Mine was very close to burning me so it was time to do something 😆. thanks for watching!!
Yes I've been using the "hold it up above your head technique" as well. It is time.
Worked like a charm! I was ready to replace mine. Thank you!
Yay!!! Glad that it worked for you. ☺️☺️

I can see how vinegar could be harmful. Its smell is so potent!!

Perfect! I’m so glad that it worked for you. Vinegar is amazing. 🤩
Wow I really needed this. Mine is sputtering and shaking so much I actually got burned by the water. I’ll have to try this!
I got burned by mine too, that’s why I did this video! I hope that this works for you. 🤞

Thanks for sharing. It worked.
That’s great! Thank you for watching! 🤩
I found this same Steamer at Goodwill for $13! It has worked great! I don't use distilled either. 😬
That’s an awesome find! My favorite part is that it’s on wheels!! And to be honest, it seems like most of us don’t use distilled water. 😱

@@djtheriault6324 🎉🎉Steam On 🤘🏼
What happens if you out water in the hose compartment or get water in the front vent. Mine won’t create heat
If water got into the front vent, it might have gotten to the heating element and that’s why yours doesn’t create heat. 😞
Hi I just had a quick question what years is there any accessories I need to be purchased
I purchased this steamer in 2018. It lasted about 4 years.
Worked for me thanks a lot,
My pleasure! I’m glad it worked for you! 😃

@@TailoredAndTeal Me too! It seems that it worked pretty well for you ! I’ll let you know.
Are some of the parts replaceable in stores without ordering online
I honestly doubt that stores would have replaceable parts. It’s probably just cheaper to purchase a new one unfortunately.
Great tutorial.
Thank you, Mary! If most people are like me who never cleans their steamer, this might be a good little reminder to do so 😉

Try replacing the thermal switch. There's a TH-cam video on how to do it. In this which only cost a few dollars
Mine is so hot that I can't hold itand less steam going out and spitting water what should I do?
Either do a vinegar steam or you can also buy a descaler to really get the build up out. Use some oven mitts if it’s too hot!

All I had to do was empty it thank you though

No heat
Not exactly sure what you mean…if there is no heat, then you may need a new steamer all together. I know nothing about the heating elements.
Throughout all the babbling, you will find that she suggest half water half vinegar.
Hey there! Thanks for watching my video anyway. 🙃
Thanks
Have to use distilled water
Yes, I agree. However during the pandemic, all of our distilled water was sold out everywhere. 😓
