@@ajusino2324 Guardian armor ruins the experience because it is very easily available and outclasses all of the challenge you will face at that rank. It's not "ruining the experience", it's rewarding you for the challenges you've gone through with appropriate final-tier items. Besides, even with Fatalis armor, you're still limited by your jewels. It's true that Fatalis armor frees up a lot of slots (no need for vitality, less need for handicraft, etc) but it was already possible pre-Fatalis to get almost all important skills maxed as long as you had the jewels necessary for that. For people who already had all the good jewels, it just means that they get to slot in some less useful skills like maximum might or whatever. For people without all the good jewels, it means that they can get the important skills maxed without having to grind Day of Ruin 500 times. The additional defense from Fatalis armor doesn't mean shit in reality since things that could two-shot you before can probably still two-shot you considering how the defense formula falls off as values get higher.
"frostfang barioth is actually easy, guys." Me, a guy catching up on MHW: Iceborne: *had to slap myself in the face six times to reset myself enough to not be tilted against normal Barioth*
Oh god i feel you, i struggled with that guy too. But this one felt... easier? Maybe because of the stuff you have to kill in order to be able to fight him, but he feels easier. His movement just seems more predictable. After the second try you know when he does his ground freeze breath and how to avoid it and then he will be easy. You can do it, just dont give up :))
@@YourDeath1994 eh its kinda the cycle of monster hunter, get your butt kicked, learn to kick the monster's butt, and then grind them so much that they become trivial lmao. i beat barioth but he doesn't have any gear that i want. my current nemesis is Nargacuga, as i want his whole set but his mantle has such a depressingly low drop rate. and if i'm not on top of my game he tends to whoop me lmao.
@King Ghidorah i figured this out about half a month ago, and got my nargacuga set though ive been so burnt out on MH:world that i haven't played in a hot second. will probably return to it here soon now that you reminded me its still on my hard drive lol.
@King Ghidorah its all good lol. ive been playing Elite Dangerous: Odyssey and been pretty disappointed at it's release, but was expecting it. Otherside been playing Mordhau and RDR2 for my fun games. though im burnt out on rdr2 again so i'll be rotating to MH:W soon.
@King Ghidorah well i only just got set up with my new PC about 2 months ago before the manufacturer price hike on graphics cards, and i couldn't run MH:W or RDR2 properly on my old machine. on top of that i got a 2tb SSD so for once i can get more than 3 large games on one drive without massive bloat on a crappy 1tb HDD so i've practically got gaming whiplash from how many games ive been bouncing between recently. so i ended up settling on a relatively stable but unscheduled rotation of games to bounce between so i don't have to feel like im not making enough progress on any of them, as i also work a full time job.
Easy or not, it really made me happy to see another rare appearance of a monster that offered some good layered armor for female characters. And for that I eternally respect barioth's grumpy grandpa.
@Ivory_ Lagiacrus_YT ikr? But I do think that the Frostfang Barioth is also a very cool looking and awesome variant cuz it has multiple more ice-based attacks. Also, the name suits the appearance of its fangs that seems to have hardened over time during its lifetime. Possibly keratin mixed with ice.
@Ivory_ Lagiacrus_YT yes Sand Barioth can just like lurk beneath the sand but that's kind of Diablos' thing y'know what I'm saying? But I think if its fur and scales are desert brown, I think it can blend perfectly into the environment.
Exactly, the only thing "dangerous" is his head dive bomb when you are on his ice which happens to me sometimes when i use the foresight slash with the longsword. You dodge his icy breath but the i frames run out while standing on it.
Tip for perfect rush instead of finishing it and getting sent back to the old world instead roll to the side and perform another perfect rush for juicy DAMAGE
I know I’m late to the party because I just found this channel. But did this mans really use the Icecap theme from Sonic Adventure as the music for this video? World class content right here.
Frostfang is easy for me IMO and normal barioth is so much more annoying than frostfang barioth which is funny since frostfang is meant to be a stronger variant of Barioth
after playing rise for what feels like an eternity in quarantine time watching this is like a completely different game. I need to jump back into world for a bit to chill out i guess >u>
Barioth and Frostfang have killed me more than any elder dragon besides Fatalis. They're great for practicing weapons. Also, very glad the algorithm suggested one of your videos to me, been binging them the past couple days.
Fun fact, you can extend the mounted shield bash of the SnS pretty much indefinitely by hitting triangle/Y like half a second after your shield connects. Let's you keep smashing their skulls for pretty good damage and ties the monster up longer for your teammates if you're online. When you see the monster starting to come out of the stunned state stop pressing the button to finish the combo and topple them.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks that Frostfang is actually easier than a regular Barioth. Simply on account of it being a tad slower. A thanks to you, btw. I recently picked up SnS due to seeing it in action in your videos, and I must say it's pretty fun.
Monsters I have yet to beat in MHW:I Alatreon, Fatalis, Raging Brachydios, Ancient Leshen, Silver Ratholos and perhaps more rare Guiding Lands monsters and any MR100+ monsters.
I just started playing this game again from scratch and I'm up to this point and I have to watch this video so that way I can get through the pain..... and just FYI Ted always carries
That is actually true, the Frostfang Barioth is actually really hecking easy. My bro and I did the event quest where you need to defeat it (and we did it before we had to defeat the Furious Rajang and Raging Brachy) and honestly, it was much easier than a normal Barioth. We never fainted and we even managed to trap it in the right timing (it was the first time we hunt, and it was on this stage with the giant door, so we had no way of knowing when it was dying, we supposed it was starting to die when we broke all of it’s parts and cut off it’s tail)
I’ve recently picked Iceborne back up. Goddamn I’ve missed this game. Living, breathing environments. Monsters that interact with each other. So many different variety of builds to do. Amazing fashion. An actual enjoyable story. And last but not least. The weapons. THERE ARE NO BAD WEAPONS. *Cries in joy that was previously lost, but found again after playing Dauntless* On a serious note. I’ve been training myself vs Fatalis. I really want to be able to help my friends kill him to get the armor but it’s been really rough. I’ve been away for too long and lost my touch😅.
This guy is actually pretty easy for a tempered monster, i've already beaten him a couple of times, even without an upgraded armor, you can read his moves just fine and beat him in less than 15 minutes.
Unironically, the title is actually very accurate this time. After Alatreon, Frostfang felt like a walk in the park.
I was actually debating if I should name the video hard instead of easy before uploading.
He was easy before alatreon! Then fatalis armor happened and now almost everything is easy.
@@roberthall29 thats why i dont use fatalis gear is just like guardian armor it ruins the experience

@Ivory_ Lagiacrus_YT Funny thing is they gave most of Sand Barioth's moveset to regular Barioth in gen 4 onwards
yeah the sand barioth is pretty cool, i remember just going whoaaa when it used the tornado for its lunging attack
Was that a ice pun?
I have to say FFB fight is much more enjoyable than the normal variant, he is kinda easy to read.

I think Frostfang should have been a rare variant so then we would have Lucent Nargacuga, Molten Tigrex, and Frostfang Barioth
He is actually enjoyable, but he needed to be in regular side quests and investigations other than exclusive to events.
I love the fact that this monster is prepared to face plant just to hit you but when you wall bang him he just goes down all the same :D
My first time doing this I was looking everywhere for this monster
Frostfang was just more annoying then difficult to me. The constant stagger was annoying
To me, Frostfang Barioth is so easy. I used my Switch Axe against him and never got carted once by him (especially the Tempered too).

Frostfang is easier than normal Bari for me. He's way slower a lot of the time, and his special moves leave him still for so long.
