    2:30 Valencia peanuts DO NOT grow on bushes higher up off the ground, they to grow in the ground. The difference is Valencia peanuts come mainly from New Mexico where there is a dry arid climate, so the risk of mold drops substantially in Valencia peanuts.

The only organic foods I trust come from my local farmer, with which I have a close relationship for years now...as I stated previously in my other post most organic foods or products sold commercially are bullshit, marketing garbage, bottom line.

    I'm well aware of the TLDR nature of this post, but I'm going to share. The only real problem I see with this advice is the idea that you're going to get bioavailable omega-3s from plant foods at all. Although there is currently some research being done on specific species of algae that can produce both DHA and EPA omega-3s, other plant foods have omega-3s in the form of alpha-linolenic acid, or ALA. For whatever reason, despite its terribly low bioavailability, the USDA still lists ALA as an "essential fat". ALA cannot be directly used anywhere in your body (as DHA and EPA are used primarily in the nervous system), and require special enzymes to convert them to their bioavailable form. Unfortunately the rate of conversion is extremely low; about 1g in 20g of ALA is effectively converted to DHA for use by the body, so even if you pour cups of flax seeds on everything you eat, you're not getting the benefits that you would from a 6oz can of sardines.

      Your biggest mistake was taking anything the FDA says as something to seriously consider . Seriously? Have you ever looked at the old food pyramid, or the new one; or looked at the population grazing at the food court in the mall? 80% of our food isn’t even allowed in Europe

    • @Tao_Tology
      @Tao_Tology ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@phoenixrisin2269 The FDA have effectively been neutered by lobbyists (thanks, republicans! And yes it is them) where a company can halt FDA assessments of their products and can, then, _self declare_ that they feel the substance is safe.

    Sadly, most food is bad for you, due to corporate contamination with chemicals/toxins, in some form or fashion. Most produce, including conventionally grown peanuts, have heavy herbicide/pesticide contamination. That contamination is also passed along to animals products (meat, diary, etc.) via what is fed them. All refined cooking oils also have disturbingly high concentrations of pesticides/herbicides, in addition to their chemical/thermal processing contamination.

    They still use pesticides in organic food and some of these natural pesticides are more poisonous to us. The organic food myth is just that a myth. Peanut butter is one of my favorites but im not scarfing down giant amounts. Too much of anything is bad that's why I get so annoyed with videos like this that ignore the real issues and mislead us.

    He musn't get to the grocery store a lot because there are many brands of natural peanut butter (with most stores having a house brand), containing only peanuts and maybe salt. And with most of these kinds, the oil is separated out at the top and you can pour some or all of it off, maybe instead of adding more oil in the form of flax seed oil to balance the omega 6:3 ratio. Just some thoughts...

    Good video, but with one caveat; all plant and animal life and their products are automatically and essentially organic, and that may come as a surprise to many. Granted, these products often INCLUDE non-organic substances, most of which are not healthful. The term 'organic' has evolved into a loose and ill-advised expression which is used to scare folks into buying items that they cannot be sure are truly exclusive of non-organic material. This is not to ridicule your video, which I think is one of the more balanced explanations on peanut butter.

I initially lost 20 lbs but after I started mixing peanut butter in the above foods, my weight loss stopped. I didn't gain any but I flatlined. I looked at the carbs and it wasn't really that bad. Then, I looked at the calories and there are about 100 calories per tbsp. Hell, I was going through a large jar of peanut butter a week. I crave peanut butter. I have binged on it many times. Slathering it on bananas, apples and celery, I have eaten a whole jar in 18 hours. Then I notice my IBS gets worse, and constipation is worse. The bottoms of my feet get rough and cracked. When I stop eating PB, these issues start to disappear significantly in two weeks.

    Comparing your clip, Doc, with another Doc's on peanuts, I find yours balanced and informative without being unduly frightening. Orchids for your peanuts! I buy roasted, non-salted peanuts in a 16oz jar, at my market for less than $3.00. Also, I buy peanut butter, ground in the specialty food store where I sometimes shop. Their product is $3.00/lb. They do not add any oils at all; no trans-fat worries. I add a tablespoon of peanuts to my oatmeal in the AM, and often eat the butter on a slice of wheat bread. I never experience any ill effects.

    If only I could add a bit of natural peanut butter to my diet but the minute I buy a jar there is no peace in my bones until I don t eat all straight then and this happens absolutely every time such an easy food to binge on and so many people have this problem withe the peanut butter. Its really true that is why I never buy it no more to avoid a massive binge and then regret it or worse.

    Can large amounts (3/4 cup every night) of natural sugar free peanutbutter cause a yeast infection recurrance? Or is it more likely I'm just itchy from my peanut allergy as a whole? I consume no refined or even fruit sugar at all. Only grains are a couple yellow corn tortillas & quinoa.

      No fruit is a Huge problem. The glucose in fruit is exactly what your body & brain needs. It is recommended that all adults eat a minimum of nine servings of fresh, whole fruit everyday. Refined (processed, packaged) sugar is the killer. Please look into it & eat fruit!

    • @JapanShopBrazil

      Fred Cannon lols I eat gym peanut butter cream type, zero all just peanut. Keeps my weight in check and heading to my 40s soon. I only bought sugar once in life. In my fridge for around 7 years there’s no oil pot, the salt is barely used but it’s hymalaian. Docs tell me I’ll live looooong and Altho I’m already kinda old ppl still think I’m 17-22 tops. My cholesterol is zero and no need to worry. I prefer dark chocolate but I only eat industrial things such as chocolate x2 or x8 times a year. Rest is pure raw salads I often eat saltless like I’m from 1000 b.C haha or fruits I eat with the peanut or alone.
      I can’t afford much food and when I can eat fancy I order local pizza once every 1-4 months small one and use olive oil and lemon on it, or buy green tea frapuccino. Things I like even off diet are pretty harmless usually.
      I don’t feel well if I don’t eat lots veggies daily and fruits honestly. 7 years I don’t drink milk and when I can afford I get soy milk. But I get enough calcium from vegetables that keep my stomach calm and blood pressure super calm haha.
      Good for me. But a tip is no need for the American full of bad stuff peanut butter. Get pure peanut cream and know how to prepare it - it will become awfully delicious as good as the fav chocolate fondue I used to get at best chocolate shop here. Perhaps I upload the recipes I created online. I also figured out how to make popcorn delicious without oil.

    • @kathrynmcmorrow7170

      Amitabha Metta LOVE Nope, the Aflatoxin isn't eliminated entirely by roasting, but since it heats the peanuts it stops the mold from increasing, so maybe less danger than raw peanut butter, which is still surprisingly good! You know, I sometimes stir a bit of honey and minced garlic into roasted peanut butter. Promise it tastes great and cuts back chance over-indulgence.

  • @LouisRaskin
    @LouisRaskin 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Actually organic peanut butter has higher levels of aflatoxins than the conventional peanut butters, and the peanut butter that is ground at the store has higher levels of aflatoxins than the ones in the jars on the shelf.

    some of my friends (50lbs over weight) SMOKE DRINK CHEW, smoke pot, eat pot brownies, DRINK 15 BEERS a week, 8 glasses of WINE per week for the ladies THEY LIVE in the drive thru Fast Food in their cars THEY WALK less then 5 miles PER WEEK they only drink 1/2 a gallon of water per day and 1/2 gallon of Starbucks Coffee OR 7-11 Slurpies / but they are healthy because they buy daily one pint of bottled water from a mountian top on Mars / they also eat daily Sugars White Flours and lots and lots of Salt / most of my friends think potato chips are actual vegetables / they also eat an average of 75 pounds of meat per year (average in America) grilled in oils / vending machines, thanksgiving, holloween, valantines day, christmas, easter ham, 5 happy birthday CAKES a year per family, memorial picnics, (one gallon of mayo per year) 4th of JULY, and 7-11 hot dogs / and they order about 25 pizzas per year and eat donuts, cookies, SODA SODA SODA, and more soda (coke pepsi) and 40% of them take medications and 70% take sleeping pills / who are my friends you ask? AMERICAN's God bless them / so my question is this IS ONE TABLE SPOON OF PEANUT BUTTER daily BAD FOR THEM???!!! / i think you hear my sarcasim here Doc..... i commend you young man for even attempting to help people on this subject of FOOD! i am older so i am old school / American's would solve about 80% of their issues if they just did what their Grandparents did.... eat and cook at home 3 meals a day, eat mostly vegetables, fruits, rice, soups, small amounts of meats (back then your grandparents couldnt afford meats every day) and homemade breads, eggs from a farm /(drink mostly WATER) they all lived to be 80 on this lifestyle and they worked until 70 with lots of health / my grandma lived throu the Great Depression and when we took her out for her Birthday she would order a plain fish sandwich and cup of soup, then wrap 1/2 the fish in her napkin and put it inside her purse / when i asked her (i was 10) why did she do that? she smiled and said, Thats My Dinner, you never know where or what will happen next, she said.
