Well, i have lived in Germany and other parts of the world and the things were not so different. I still remember the hellish burocracy in Germany. It took two years to have my tax return and sometimes the papers you have to arrange are duplicated. How is burocracy in Spain in comparison with other countries? Yes its a bit slow but it also depends on what you need. For a foreigner yes, it can be a problem because there is a huge amount of documentation you must provide. Spain's goverment is known to request having everything controlled and regulated to max levels and that has a very bad side for the people coming from abroad. I know it because my wife is not from here and we went through a lot of paper work. But as you said, if everything is in order there should be no problem. Keep in mind also that many documents can be downloaded with digital certificate using the DNI chip. I recomend this to everyone because you can get from birth certificate to labour life certificate, and It´s safe and quick. Te taxes in Germany are also quite high, but aligned with other countries in Europe. In nordic countries they are even higher. Maybe the exceptions are Switzerland, Luxermburg or Netherlands. One thing about economy, is that tourism is overall next to 12% of the gross product as far as i know. So it´s important yes, but not the only thing supporting the economy. Many don´t know that Spain is one of the largest car assemblers in EU (2.5 million vehicles manufacturers per year). Medical supplies and technology is also quite important, alongside with banking and services. One of the thigns i hate the most is the conception the foreigners have about the "siesta" (nap) and think that everyone is sleeping from 14:00 to 17:00. Well, i am 100% spaniard and never took a nap, neither any of my friends. Maybe this happens more in the south of the country where the temperatures are quite high in some moments of the day, but its not something generalized. They also think that we are always late and that depends on the person. In companies, normally the schedules are respected and one can be late 4-5 minutes but not more. They also say we are quite loud and maybe its true. It depends on the region because here in Galicia is not happening all the time. I usually see more tourists and expats being louder than locals, so it depends. In Ibiza an Mallorca, brits and germans are extremely loud and crazy, for example. These stereotypes come from long time ago, when the problem between protestantism and catholicism started. Thats my opinion and It´s something to do also with history. Everyone knows who is Darwin, but no one knows who is Félix de Azara. Everyone knows who is James Watts, but no one knows who is Jerónimo de Ayanz and a few know about Miguel Servet. Everyone knows Francis Drake but no one knows Francisco de Hoces. Spain decline and fall was maybe one of the most humilliating things of the XIX century. Many topics come from there, spread by the Americans during the Cuba War in 1898, and the others from Bartolome de las Casas interpretations.

La solución es que cuando un anglosajón pregunte algo en España sin saber nada de español es ignorarlo como si no existiese, vivo en una ciudad muy turistica, y varias veces me ha pasado que algún anglosajón me ha reprochado en mi propio país que yo no hablase ingles para atenderle a el en sus necesidades (aún esforzandome en indicarles como podía) esto en la via pública y yendo por la calle, cuando se me hacerca uno no espero su desprecio, lo mando directamente al peo y paso de el, les he tenido que explicar demasiadas veces que en España el idioma oficial es el español y no el ingles.

As a Spaniard who had the opportunity to live and work in London for some time. I have to admit that the Bureaucracy in UK is not easy at all (and i was there in 2010 when UK still was part of the European Union). it was so funny that in order to open a bank account i needed the direction of where i was living, but in order to be able to rent a flat i needed a bank account and a work contract, i would not get the contract until i had my national inssurance number, in order to get the NIN you need to prove that you are eligible to work there and that you have a place to live, which you won't because you cannot access to a contract and/or a bank account. it was ridiculous the amount of effort i needed to put into this.
Same happens if you go to Spain. It's not easy at all to rent or buy or the many other matters. The conclusion of all this is every plac3 has its own rules, and anyone who wants to leave in that place must abide by such laws and rules no matter who and where you are from. If a english speaker wants to integrate into another society they must adapt to the circumstances.

Los idiomas oficiales de la ONU, son inglés, español, francés, ruso y chino. 🇪🇸 Soy andaluz y el tema siesta que en el extranjero se aprecia como algo vulgar y vago es muy recomendable por expertos en salud. La mayoría de trabajadores andaluces no duerme esa tan manoseada “siesta” (yo jamás he dormido la siesta) por tener la jornada partida y solo el tiempo justo para la comida. Hay muchos típicos tópicos que había que revisar.

Setting the immigration process as an example of complex Spanish bureaucracy is simply silly. You are British. Have you tried to apply for a UK visa? I can tell you it is not only a nightmare, but it is likely they will lose your documents, including your passport, and they will charge you a lot more. Spanish bureaucracy might be overall more difficult, but not much more than anywhere else. It just happens that we haven't experienced it. For the Brits and the gringos, it is specially challenging because they truly think that everybody will vow to them and that the world owes them something. Their sense of entitlement and exceptionalism make them think that when something happens to them is unfair and inconsiderate. I challenge you to find one who thinks that is a migrant instead of as an expat.
"Siesta" (nap, in English, I guess), appeared because in the last century men had 2 works (women didn't work at that time), and in order to make a break between both, people went at home to lunch and did a short nap. I am argentinian and traveled to the EU this summer..I do well so I could live almost wherever I want and Spain felt to me by far the country with the least feeling of "decadence" in Western Europe. It gave me south US vibes..like growing. The rest of Europe felt "washed down", like sleepy and starting to be rough around the edges. Even the UK, where the gap between London and the rest of the UK is starting to look like what happens in Russia with Moscow, while the rest of the country is far behind. It also made me value my country a lot more. I am 100% sure that Spain and Argentina will be two of the best places in the world to live in the XXI century..like a more socially cohesive version of Britain and Australia. Poland is poised to do well too, but culturally slavic culture / polish language is not as appealing as mediterranean / spanish language for foreigners. I would be very worried about northern europe, especially with the rise of China and the so called Global South (they are gonna suck huge amounts of wealth from there) in this century, and with the chaos of immigration they have, they are gonna end up poorer but with millions of people who never contributed to social security and would demand pensions because they became citizens..doesnt look good. Migrants in the Americas are different because even though they might get some financial help from the government, it is limited in time and only for children, they know they have to work if they wanna eat so those who wanna live off the government go all to Europe.

El video muy bueno, pero la Comunidad Valenciana no basa en el turismo su fuente de ingresos, por ejemplo a pesar de las apariencias, el interior de la provincia de Alicante es muuuy industrial (calzado, textil, juguetes, etc....) la mayoria de sus pueblos de interior son los principales productores de España en su sector ... no solo de Benidorm vive Alicante, La industria cerámica de la provincia de Castellón es referente mundial y en cuanto a Valencia también tiene importantes zonas industriales y agroalimentarias. I just moved to Barcelona this month and here are some of my initial impressions on your points: Economy and Taxes I agree with all your points, and as someone who will benefit from Beckham's Law I think that this is a great thing. The company I'm working for has been able to attract talent from wider Europe and overseas using this initiative and I don't think they could've done it without the incentives in place. However, wider issues still remain such as the housing crisis in Barcelona and some challenges with the tax brackets as you mentioned. Spanish vs English speaking I've visited Spain in the past and sadly not been fluent enough to speak Spanish and found it quite difficult to feel welcome, especially in shops and counters. This day to day interaction is something I definitely feel that I've taken for granted living in the UK, and I was a bit worried moving here that I would feel a bit lonely or out of place. However, this time I am much more confident in my Spanish and I have seen a massive difference in people, especially if you invest a moment to ask them a question or have small talk, and I am much happier conversing than before. So I think the language is the key for sure. Next stop, Catalan 😅 Laziness I feel like this is too early to tell but my initial impression in my small circle is this is not the case. Everyone seems to really put the hours in, and enjoy their free time much more actively than I've seen in some of UK culture. But I can understand why people feel like this seeing it from the outside. Bureaucracy Oh man, I could talk about this for days. I have been working with a visa agent to get my documents sorted, and surprisingly they have been the most efficient part of the process. The worst bit was waiting for the UK government to legalise my documents which took longer than 5 weeks! But I'm sure that there will be a stumbling block somewhere along the way. I guess the challenge is having to navigate the Spanish forms and customer facing experience too.

Spain has approximately 300 days of sunshine a year, we Spaniards are adapted to this excess of radiation and to a certain extent to the humid cold of winter. However, the countries of northern Europe are not, you have to be careful and apply sunscreen.
About siesta...One thing I have learnt is that culture is mixed with environment and the most probably thing is that what people do at somewhere is the best thing to be done. The locals do know it because they have tried all other posibilities. If locals (for example) eat a lot of fish, it's because they live in a place where there's a lot of fish and not many posibilities to eat meat or it's poor quality. If they take a little nap after lunchtime, it's the most probably because their bodies can be harmed if they make phisical activities under a hell sun with stomach full of food. We say "donde fueres haz lo que vieres" wich resume what I mean
Hi. I'm quite agree with your analysis, at least with most of the points 👏, however I also have to mention : British people critizicing everything that is not british? What a surprise 😂😂😂😂. The criticism comes from centuries before when the 2 most powerful empires were fighting to control the world. What did The Uk used? A dirty game= Propaganda against the enemy, in this case Spain. I'm spaniard and I have lived in The Uk and I must say that there are certain things that are better than Spain there but I prefer thousand times my country than The UK, not everything in life is earning a lot of money, there are other factors that makes someone else life much better And complete than be a " frustrated robot alike being". Change the mentality, you are the ones coming to another country that has its language, so make an effort to communicate and dont be as elitist And selfish as you are ( I am not refering to you man, in general) that is my piece of advice. Very interesting, I could be wrong but I think local tourism within Spain is very popular for Spanish nationals, and whilst many do travel abroad, it seems to be less frequent than going to the countryside or the seaside within Spain.. do you think this could also be a factor?

being my self basque you have perfectly described that we have strong industry here in basque country (although we will see with china in the future whats happens with europan industry), what is strange about brits is that retired brits living in the south after 10 years, they still have not learnt spanish...i lived in uk for 2 years and i found that getting a job was very easy... in spain we have lot of troubles with that... it is also important to say that paperwork is a nightmare here in spain... public administration tends to make things complicated...

Hi everyone, Very good video. More and more people see ENGLISH a very important language to learn here in Spain. So nowadays I would say parents of my generation and younger take their children to private English schools after school actually. They go three times a week and at the end of the course sit for exams. Spanish people like ENGLISH very much ❤ Another thing we work hard. Siesta you take it if you're on holiday maybe or you have the day off. We work extra hours most of the year. And its a myth that we are lazy. Trust me in my work is not just 9 to 5. Hablando de estereotipos, dte confundes cuando afirmas que C.Valenciana puede ser de las únicas que vive del turismo. Puede que no conozcas la diversificación y el peso relativo que tiene C.Valenciana en España. Empezando por empresas como Mercadona, Consum, Pamesa, Sprinter, Valor, Porcelanosa, Balearia, Air Nostrum, de la industria automotriz como Ford y Volkswaven, Stadler (la de trenes), industria manufacturera, por ejemplo tempe, panama jack, etc., canteras, estudios cinamatográficos, hubs tecnológicos, actividad inmobiliaria, comercial y de servicios de todo tipo, grandes constructoras. También el sector primario de regadío junto con Murcia y Almería es de los más importantes de España. No por nada Valencia es la tercera provincia en PIB y Alicante la quinta. La comunidad es la cuarta comunidad por PIB teniendo 3 provincias... así que bueno, su industria turística es importante, alrededor del 15% del PIB, pero vamos.. no es Canarias con un 35% de su PIB o Baleares que representa un 40%. @@Leffy1000 aquí entran otros factores clave como la tasa de paro de c.valenciana que es 6 puntos por lo menos superior a la de Baleares, la más baja o de las más bajas.. hablamos de cerca de un 13-14% frente a un 7%. Eso hace muchísimo al respecto, por ejemplo. También que en Baleares, por ser tan cara, hay inmigración y aumento de la población pero no al nivel de C.V donde la población ( y por tanto el divisor del PIB) está creciendo de manera muy notable y no da tiempo a que el PIB aumente al mismo ritmo.. es un tema complejo este

Te olvidaste de nombrar a Leon y Castilla..qe son las comunidades mas importantes de España en superficie y riqeza natural y sobre todo su agricultura y ganaderia y la poca industria qe nos han permitido tener los grandes caziques de la mafia politica.

@@Leffy1000 I didn’t mention unemployment in the Balearic Islands directly, I only mentioned that tourism contributes significantly to the local economy. There is however screenshot showing unemployment rates by autonomous community at 1:45 is from the INE and Baleares is higher than the Spanish average. Good analysis !! , in the topic on english language , well we have a long road to go , that`s very true people must also understand that apart from spanish in Spain , there are regional languages , like catalan , galician , basque language ( Euskera ) and we need to learn them also , but ) now we have " the language program assistant " in wich a lot of classes are entire given in english , so there`s a generation of spaniards that will now english better than their fathers , also if you invest a little of your time in learning spanish ( wich is oficial in 21 countries and and also spoken in the United States , in wich is the second language in the country right now ) is like a Key to unlock other romance languages , you will find very easy to learn portuguese ( super easy ) , next italian ( also very easy) french , catalan , romanian ( maybe the hardest due to cases ) and other minor romance languages ,spanish is the easiest romance language ( I know scots , irish , americans , australians that speak it very well ) but yes we need to get better in english , that's for sure.

Taxes in Spain are ludicrously high, specially for middle class. Between direct and indirect taxes ANYONE end up paying up to 70% of what you earn. And things are worse if you are self employed. You get slaughtered with taxes. And the quality in services has gone down dramatically in the last 10 years or so. And the taxes keep on growing. And the hyperrregulation and bureaucracy is just criminal.
Decir que la economía de la Comunidad Valenciana se basa muchísimo en el turismo cuando la realidad es que representa entre un 15 y un 20 por ciento de su PIB es despreciar muchos otros sectores de la economía de esta comunidad y denota bastante ignorancia. El problema es hablar con condescendencia y superioridad de un país con una cultura, historia, economía y personalidad que no pueden ser abarcados en unos pocos minutos de vídeo ni en unos pocos años de estancia. Me parecen buenos argumentos. Estoy bastante de acuerdo contigo excepto por una breve acotación: intentad comer a las 14:00 hrs. Platos contundentes en plena canícula … primero, segundo, postre, alcohol,… veréis como os convertís en acérrimos fanáticos de una breve siesta. Si no coméis como aquí se come y no pasáis el calor que aquí se pasa, difícilmente lo entenderéis. Por otra parte ¿qué sentido tiene mantener abiertas las tiendas cuando todo el mundo está en su casa o en la oficina durante las horas centrales del día? No es óptimo y de ahí los tramos horarios que tenemos. Mientras que en Europa cierran,… aquí estamos abiertos.

Don't worry about not speaking Spanish, as a foreigner I learnt Spanish and Catalan, plenty of Spaniards that have been living for 50+ years in Catalonia and don't speak Catalan

Respecto al papeleo...España recibe una gran cantidad de inmigrantes,segun la ciudad,es logico que el sistema se colapse...se puede mejorar... evidentemente. Lived in Spain for 28 yrs. What is bad... lack of work, low wages, limited economy, very noisy, too much ridiculous beurocracy, relatively high taxes, useless and very polarised politics, general disorganisation/chaos, some people can be very ignorant/rude, the absurd working hours, authorities seem centered on taking your money and not providing services, thieving banks, poor education, rancid patriotism. Whats good.... food, weather, sometimes the lifestyle, health service is good but has declined in the last few years.

Well, i have lived in Germany and other parts of the world and the things were not so different.
I still remember the hellish burocracy in Germany. It took two years to have my tax return and sometimes the papers you have to arrange are duplicated.
How is burocracy in Spain in comparison with other countries? Yes its a bit slow but it also depends on what you need. For a foreigner yes, it can be a problem because there is a huge amount of documentation you must provide. Spain's goverment is known to request having everything controlled and regulated to max levels and that has a very bad side for the people coming from abroad.
I know it because my wife is not from here and we went through a lot of paper work. But as you said, if everything is in order there should be no problem.
Keep in mind also that many documents can be downloaded with digital certificate using the DNI chip. I recomend this to everyone because you can get from birth certificate to labour life certificate, and It´s safe and quick.
Te taxes in Germany are also quite high, but aligned with other countries in Europe. In nordic countries they are even higher.
Maybe the exceptions are Switzerland, Luxermburg or Netherlands.
One thing about economy, is that tourism is overall next to 12% of the gross product as far as i know. So it´s important yes, but not the only thing supporting the economy.
Many don´t know that Spain is one of the largest car assemblers in EU (2.5 million vehicles manufacturers per year). Medical supplies and technology is also quite important, alongside with banking and services.
One of the thigns i hate the most is the conception the foreigners have about the "siesta" (nap) and think that everyone is sleeping from 14:00 to 17:00.
Well, i am 100% spaniard and never took a nap, neither any of my friends. Maybe this happens more in the south of the country where the temperatures are quite high in some moments of the day, but its not something generalized.
They also think that we are always late and that depends on the person. In companies, normally the schedules are respected and one can be late 4-5 minutes but not more.
They also say we are quite loud and maybe its true. It depends on the region because here in Galicia is not happening all the time. I usually see more tourists and expats being louder than locals, so it depends.
In Ibiza an Mallorca, brits and germans are extremely loud and crazy, for example.
These stereotypes come from long time ago, when the problem between protestantism and catholicism started. Thats my opinion and It´s something to do also with history.

Everyone knows who is James Watts, but no one knows who is Jerónimo de Ayanz and a few know about Miguel Servet.
Everyone knows Francis Drake but no one knows Francisco de Hoces.
Spain decline and fall was maybe one of the most humilliating things of the XIX century. Many topics come from there, spread by the Americans during the Cuba War in 1898, and the others from Bartolome de las Casas interpretations.

La solución es que cuando un anglosajón pregunte algo en España sin saber nada de español es ignorarlo como si no existiese, vivo en una ciudad muy turistica, y varias veces me ha pasado que algún anglosajón me ha reprochado en mi propio país que yo no hablase ingles para atenderle a el en sus necesidades (aún esforzandome en indicarles como podía) esto en la via pública y yendo por la calle, cuando se me hacerca uno no espero su desprecio, lo mando directamente al peo y paso de el, les he tenido que explicar demasiadas veces que en España el idioma oficial es el español y no el ingles.

As a Spaniard who had the opportunity to live and work in London for some time. I have to admit that the Bureaucracy in UK is not easy at all (and i was there in 2010 when UK still was part of the European Union). it was so funny that in order to open a bank account i needed the direction of where i was living, but in order to be able to rent a flat i needed a bank account and a work contract, i would not get the contract until i had my national inssurance number, in order to get the NIN you need to prove that you are eligible to work there and that you have a place to live, which you won't because you cannot access to a contract and/or a bank account. it was ridiculous the amount of effort i needed to put into this.

Same happens if you go to Spain. It's not easy at all to rent or buy or the many other matters. The conclusion of all this is every plac3 has its own rules, and anyone who wants to leave in that place must abide by such laws and rules no matter who and where you are from. If a english speaker wants to integrate into another society they must adapt to the circumstances.

🇪🇸 Soy andaluz y el tema siesta que en el extranjero se aprecia como algo vulgar y vago es muy recomendable por expertos en salud. La mayoría de trabajadores andaluces no duerme esa tan manoseada “siesta” (yo jamás he dormido la siesta) por tener la jornada partida y solo el tiempo justo para la comida. Hay muchos típicos tópicos que había que revisar.

Spain produces cars, machinery, chemical and mechanical products, ships and aircraft, furniture, footwear, and an expanding military industry. It is the 4th economy in Europe. I think the British still think about the Spain of 1974, and not that of 2024. By the way, what would the UK be without London?

Setting the immigration process as an example of complex Spanish bureaucracy is simply silly. You are British. Have you tried to apply for a UK visa? I can tell you it is not only a nightmare, but it is likely they will lose your documents, including your passport, and they will charge you a lot more. Spanish bureaucracy might be overall more difficult, but not much more than anywhere else. It just happens that we haven't experienced it. For the Brits and the gringos, it is specially challenging because they truly think that everybody will vow to them and that the world owes them something. Their sense of entitlement and exceptionalism make them think that when something happens to them is unfair and inconsiderate. I challenge you to find one who thinks that is a migrant instead of as an expat.
We are all migrants somewhere. I wish they ditched the word "expat". Spanish living in the UK and I consider myself a migrant. Good video! Isn't it?

"Siesta" (nap, in English, I guess), appeared because in the last century men had 2 works (women didn't work at that time), and in order to make a break between both, people went at home to lunch and did a short nap.

Solo hacerte una corrección, la siesta es de origen romano los cuales dividían la jornada laboral y en la “sesta” hora descansaban.
I am argentinian and traveled to the EU this summer..I do well so I could live almost wherever I want and Spain felt to me by far the country with the least feeling of "decadence" in Western Europe. It gave me south US vibes..like growing. The rest of Europe felt "washed down", like sleepy and starting to be rough around the edges. Even the UK, where the gap between London and the rest of the UK is starting to look like what happens in Russia with Moscow, while the rest of the country is far behind. It also made me value my country a lot more. I am 100% sure that Spain and Argentina will be two of the best places in the world to live in the XXI century..like a more socially cohesive version of Britain and Australia. Poland is poised to do well too, but culturally slavic culture / polish language is not as appealing as mediterranean / spanish language for foreigners. I would be very worried about northern europe, especially with the rise of China and the so called Global South (they are gonna suck huge amounts of wealth from there) in this century, and with the chaos of immigration they have, they are gonna end up poorer but with millions of people who never contributed to social security and would demand pensions because they became citizens..doesnt look good. Migrants in the Americas are different because even though they might get some financial help from the government, it is limited in time and only for children, they know they have to work if they wanna eat so those who wanna live off the government go all to Europe.

El video muy bueno, pero la Comunidad Valenciana no basa en el turismo su fuente de ingresos, por ejemplo a pesar de las apariencias, el interior de la provincia de Alicante es muuuy industrial (calzado, textil, juguetes, etc....) la mayoria de sus pueblos de interior son los principales productores de España en su sector ... no solo de Benidorm vive Alicante,
La industria cerámica de la provincia de Castellón es referente mundial y en cuanto a Valencia también tiene importantes zonas industriales y agroalimentarias.

Economy and Taxes
I agree with all your points, and as someone who will benefit from Beckham's Law I think that this is a great thing. The company I'm working for has been able to attract talent from wider Europe and overseas using this initiative and I don't think they could've done it without the incentives in place. However, wider issues still remain such as the housing crisis in Barcelona and some challenges with the tax brackets as you mentioned.
Spanish vs English speaking
I've visited Spain in the past and sadly not been fluent enough to speak Spanish and found it quite difficult to feel welcome, especially in shops and counters. This day to day interaction is something I definitely feel that I've taken for granted living in the UK, and I was a bit worried moving here that I would feel a bit lonely or out of place. However, this time I am much more confident in my Spanish and I have seen a massive difference in people, especially if you invest a moment to ask them a question or have small talk, and I am much happier conversing than before. So I think the language is the key for sure. Next stop, Catalan 😅
Laziness
I feel like this is too early to tell but my initial impression in my small circle is this is not the case. Everyone seems to really put the hours in, and enjoy their free time much more actively than I've seen in some of UK culture. But I can understand why people feel like this seeing it from the outside.
Bureaucracy
Oh man, I could talk about this for days. I have been working with a visa agent to get my documents sorted, and surprisingly they have been the most efficient part of the process. The worst bit was waiting for the UK government to legalise my documents which took longer than 5 weeks! But I'm sure that there will be a stumbling block somewhere along the way. I guess the challenge is having to navigate the Spanish forms and customer facing experience too.

Spain has approximately 300 days of sunshine a year, we Spaniards are adapted to this excess of radiation and to a certain extent to the humid cold of winter. However, the countries of northern Europe are not, you have to be careful and apply sunscreen.

About siesta...One thing I have learnt is that culture is mixed with environment and the most probably thing is that what people do at somewhere is the best thing to be done. The locals do know it because they have tried all other posibilities. If locals (for example) eat a lot of fish, it's because they live in a place where there's a lot of fish and not many posibilities to eat meat or it's poor quality. If they take a little nap after lunchtime, it's the most probably because their bodies can be harmed if they make phisical activities under a hell sun with stomach full of food. We say "donde fueres haz lo que vieres" wich resume what I mean

Hi. I'm quite agree with your analysis, at least with most of the points 👏, however I also have to mention : British people critizicing everything that is not british? What a surprise 😂😂😂😂. The criticism comes from centuries before when the 2 most powerful empires were fighting to control the world. What did The Uk used? A dirty game= Propaganda against the enemy, in this case Spain. I'm spaniard and I have lived in The Uk and I must say that there are certain things that are better than Spain there but I prefer thousand times my country than The UK, not everything in life is earning a lot of money, there are other factors that makes someone else life much better And complete than be a " frustrated robot alike being". Change the mentality, you are the ones coming to another country that has its language, so make an effort to communicate and dont be as elitist And selfish as you are ( I am not refering to you man, in general) that is my piece of advice. Very interesting, I could be wrong but I think local tourism within Spain is very popular for Spanish nationals, and whilst many do travel abroad, it seems to be less frequent than going to the countryside or the seaside within Spain.. do you think this could also be a factor?

being my self basque you have perfectly described that we have strong industry here in basque country (although we will see with china in the future whats happens with europan industry), what is strange about brits is that retired brits living in the south after 10 years, they still have not learnt spanish...i lived in uk for 2 years and i found that getting a job was very easy... in spain we have lot of troubles with that... it is also important to say that paperwork is a nightmare here in spain... public administration tends to make things complicated...

Estás totalmente equivocado en tus apreciaciones y todo lo del paro es un cuento chino , porque si no cómo es posible que todos los que llegan de Sudamérica o de otros sitios en menos de una semana estén trabajando y el problema es que los españoles prefieren estar permanentemente de fiestas y de tapas y no trabajar y vivir de la paguita del Estado y otra cosa falsa , son las estadísticas , pues en las estadísticas no se mide todo el dinero negro que se mueve en España , pero si eres observador, mira el nivel de coches que hay en España y la antigüedad que tienen , te quedarás asombrado y aquí el que menos tiene , tiene casa en la ciudad , casa en la sierra y casa en la playa, lo que no impide que personas de nivel de un bombero, se marche en vacaciones a bucear a la barrera de coral de Australia

Very good video. More and more people see ENGLISH a very important language to learn here in Spain. So nowadays I would say parents of my generation and younger take their children to private English schools after school actually. They go three times a week and at the end of the course sit for exams. Spanish people like ENGLISH very much ❤
Another thing we work hard. Siesta you take it if you're on holiday maybe or you have the day off. We work extra hours most of the year. And its a myth that we are lazy. Trust me in my work is not just 9 to 5. Sometimes I finish at 8p.m. and I'm happy with my job.

Hablando de estereotipos, dte confundes cuando afirmas que C.Valenciana puede ser de las únicas que vive del turismo. Puede que no conozcas la diversificación y el peso relativo que tiene C.Valenciana en España. Empezando por empresas como Mercadona, Consum, Pamesa, Sprinter, Valor, Porcelanosa, Balearia, Air Nostrum, de la industria automotriz como Ford y Volkswaven, Stadler (la de trenes), industria manufacturera, por ejemplo tempe, panama jack, etc., canteras, estudios cinamatográficos, hubs tecnológicos, actividad inmobiliaria, comercial y de servicios de todo tipo, grandes constructoras. También el sector primario de regadío junto con Murcia y Almería es de los más importantes de España. No por nada Valencia es la tercera provincia en PIB y Alicante la quinta. La comunidad es la cuarta comunidad por PIB teniendo 3 provincias... así que bueno, su industria turística es importante, alrededor del 15% del PIB, pero vamos.. no es Canarias con un 35% de su PIB o Baleares que representa un 40%. Y aun así Baleares tiene un PBI per cápita a 2024 del 109,1% por 85,6% del Valenciano (sobre la media española)

@@Leffy1000 aquí entran otros factores clave como la tasa de paro de c.valenciana que es 6 puntos por lo menos superior a la de Baleares, la más baja o de las más bajas.. hablamos de cerca de un 13-14% frente a un 7%. Eso hace muchísimo al respecto, por ejemplo. También que en Baleares, por ser tan cara, hay inmigración y aumento de la población pero no al nivel de C.V donde la población ( y por tanto el divisor del PIB) está creciendo de manera muy notable y no da tiempo a que el PIB aumente al mismo ritmo.. es un tema complejo este

Te olvidaste de nombrar a Leon y Castilla..qe son las comunidades mas importantes de España en superficie y riqeza natural y sobre todo su agricultura y ganaderia y la poca industria qe nos han permitido tener los grandes caziques de la mafia politica.
Mi país mis costumbres, si vienes a mi país aprende español, de lo contrario mejor que te quedes en tu casa , o al menos no te quejes, después de todo el español es el segundo idioma más hablado del mundo después del mandarín.

@@Leffy1000 I didn’t mention unemployment in the Balearic Islands directly, I only mentioned that tourism contributes significantly to the local economy. There is however screenshot showing unemployment rates by autonomous community at 1:45 is from the INE and Baleares is higher than the Spanish average. Good analysis !! , in the topic on english language , well we have a long road to go , that`s very true people must also understand that apart from spanish in Spain , there are regional languages , like catalan , galician , basque language ( Euskera ) and we need to learn them also , but ) now we have " the language program assistant " in wich a lot of classes are entire given in english , so there`s a generation of spaniards that will now english better than their fathers , also if you invest a little of your time in learning spanish ( wich is oficial in 21 countries and and also spoken in the United States , in wich is the second language in the country right now ) is like a Key to unlock other romance languages , you will find very easy to learn portuguese ( super easy ) , next italian ( also very easy) french , catalan , romanian ( maybe the hardest due to cases ) and other minor romance languages ,spanish is the easiest romance language ( I know scots , irish , americans , australians that speak it very well ) but yes we need to get better in english , that's for sure.

El turismo masivo " mata" la ciudad expulsa a la gente de los barrios y lo gentrifica en resumen se convierten en parque temático muy alejado de lo.que es un barrio tradicional de aqui
PIB de Reino Unido por ejemplo en turismo 11% España 12'5% desmontado el mito de que España vive del turismo por que entonces R.Unido tambien la siesta la mayor parte de la gente no la hace sencillamente por que no tiene tiempo la palaba es de origen Italiano.llamada "Sesta" por cierto y extrañamente alli se practica mas y es menos conocido quizas por la cultura Hispana en E.Unidos y su cultura global y que extranjero en su pais no ha hecho alguna vez una .y el Ingles que yo sepa estamos en España no en Reino Unido el Ingles se aprende si es estrictamente necesario.me gustaria saber cuanta gente aprende un idioma en paises angloparlantes😂 .

La comunidad valenciana esta un poco por encima de la media en cuanto a turismo, pero nada comparado con baleares y canarias, mal ejemplo.
Quizás he dado la impresión de que es una comunidad que lidera con el turísmo, me estaba referiendo principalmente a sitios cómo Alicante, Benidorm e incluso Valencia. Pero sí, no dudo que las islas atraen más turistas. Gracias por ver el vídeo!
Taxes in Spain are ludicrously high, specially for middle class. Between direct and indirect taxes ANYONE end up paying up to 70% of what you earn. And things are worse if you are self employed. You get slaughtered with taxes.
And the quality in services has gone down dramatically in the last 10 years or so. And the taxes keep on growing. And the hyperrregulation and bureaucracy is just criminal.
I think there are more nuances to that

Me parecen buenos argumentos. Estoy bastante de acuerdo contigo excepto por una breve acotación: intentad comer a las 14:00 hrs. Platos contundentes en plena canícula … primero, segundo, postre, alcohol,… veréis como os convertís en acérrimos fanáticos de una breve siesta. Si no coméis como aquí se come y no pasáis el calor que aquí se pasa, difícilmente lo entenderéis. Por otra parte ¿qué sentido tiene mantener abiertas las tiendas cuando todo el mundo está en su casa o en la oficina durante las horas centrales del día? No es óptimo y de ahí los tramos horarios que tenemos. Mientras que en Europa cierran,… aquí estamos abiertos.

Respecto al papeleo...España recibe una gran cantidad de inmigrantes,segun la ciudad,es logico que el sistema se colapse...se puede mejorar... evidentemente.
Empezando por los horarios absurdos que tienen la clase protegida de los funcionarios del estado...trabajan poco y mal y tienen mas derechos que el resto de los demás sectores...no digo que sean malos trabajadores,todo lo contrario,son los mas capacitados.Pero son intocables y una gran mayoria,se aprovecha del sistema.

@@MillennialsWithMoney Pues eso no es cierto, historicamente los autonomos tiene una escala de cotizacion con un minimo y un maximo y ellos elegian la caniidad a pagar, evidentemente eso hacia que despues la jubilacion que tenisn serria mayor o menor segun lo que habian cotizsdo, en general cotizaban menos que los empleados,⁸ porque la cotizacikn de estos siempre era un porcentaje fijo de sys ingresos
Desde el año pasado ha cambuado el sistema y ahora tambien cotizan un porcentaje sobre los beneficios
como estos pueden variar tambien variara la cotizacion
Otra cosa a tener en cuenta es que la cotizacion a la seguridad social se destina unicamente para la futura pension y nada para ka sanidad, esta se financia integranente con los impuestis

@@anamariacasado6174 efectivamente podría haberlo hecho. Sin embargo, mi audiencia proviene mayormente de Reino Unido y Estados Unidos, y por lo tanto hago los vídeos en inglés. Me he planteado varias veces la idea de hacer contenido en castellano, y quizás algún día lo haré, pero de momento he decido centrarme en hacer contenido sobre España, vivir en el extranjero y finanzas en inglés. Lived in Spain for 28 yrs. What is bad... lack of work, low wages, limited economy, very noisy, too much ridiculous beurocracy, relatively high taxes, useless and very polarised politics, general disorganisation/chaos, some people can be very ignorant/rude, the absurd working hours, authorities seem centered on taking your money and not providing services, thieving banks, poor education, rancid patriotism.
Whats good.... food, weather, sometimes the lifestyle, health service is good but has declined in the last few years.
In summary: a disastrous and corrupt political class, united to a society that is too indulgent and passive with it.
