It'd be a bad choice to hire a dev who made a decent game in this genre/style and then tell them to do something else. Same with all other riot forge games
One of the things that is good to mention as to why people during the initial rebellion didn't fight back with magic... Most of Demacia is constructed with some form of petricite, especially so in the Capital, so fighting with magic in the middle of Capital would be kind of pointless.
Good point it will be vulnerable for mages to start the rebellion within the city and there is no chance escape unless all blocking every exits by Demacian guards
especially tera the mountain drake. you know, the one that is made out of petricide would be really cool if she is the last midboss of the game before encountering jarvan

I'm running a Pathfinder 1E campaign actually. Actually been running it for almost two years now, and the party is currently in Demacia researching Fiddlesticks. Helps that they know next to nothing about the League universe so I can use established stories as quest hooks.

I think there is going to be a mix of the initial breakout (which explains the massive battle near the capital) and sylas getting captured during his raid on the demacian gate near freljord (since sylas will fight jarvan not inside the castle but outside the normal courtyard)
I assume that comics story would serve as prologue or a tutorial, the rest I'm not sure about but I assume that cinematic Warrior could be the final battle or half of the story, depending on how long the game is.
I think differing end goals. Noxus ultimately ends in strong over weak. Strength, no matter the kind is welcomed, but it's a ruling upper class over slaves and peasants. Sylas wants to use his strength for liberation. He's tired of the upper class.

Im still skeptical on how the game is gonna end lore wise. But there was also a screenshot of a Shyvana boss fight which makes me slightly optimistic. I think should that boss fight be the final one and even if Sylas 'wins' gameplay wise that the cutscene after is Shyvana winning and forcing him to retreat. And maybe after all the chaos and shit happening and seeing Shyvana save the day that change actually happens in Demacia for the better. Though we obviously don't know where this game falls in relation to the ruination.
Feel like it could be a soft rouge like. Similar to village part of Cult of the Lamb where you have a story and plot to go through but options to pick as you level up. So your "stolen" spells may be options but there isn't really any resetting aside from replaying. (maybe you go get materials from woods and get random spells)
I believe the story timeline is in between the comics and the current story, as I see it in the trailer, it seems that Sylas and his fellow mages are on a journey to seek refuge in Freljord.

I've played Digital Sun games before. The games are always good but lack the little bit of *oomph* that really pushes it into becoming a great game, for Moonlighter, it was the combat being smooth and rewarding, for example, this looks PERFECT, looks silky smooth in combat and I'm all here for it.
It would be awesome if in the j4 boss battle . You þook down j4 health bár and he is kneeling but you hear a dragon roar and shyvana joins the battle even suprising j4. Then phase 2 starts with a double (lover) slamdown on sylas

Well sylas isn't even absorbing magic, it's specifically the petricite his chains are made out of that do it for him. All mageseekers carry petricite masks and sigils so they can also absorb, they just cant use the absorbed magic as their own like Sylas can.
I think he's talking about the mageseekers wearing the petricite discs, which absorb magic. Maybe it did something to them when it absorbed too much magic or something
In lore, petricite was thought to get rid of magic. Sylas realized that that it actually stores magic, because he could see the magic inside. That's why he wears the petricite chains, because he can't do anything without them. It'd be more accurate to say he can push and pull magic. He can pull magic through the petricite to store it, and push it out to unleash it. I don't know for sure but that's how I see it. Petricite is the battery, while sylas is the "phone".
Why do they always forget about Fiora? I get it, she is a character with a lot of of hate cause of her gameplay. But in lore she is pretty badass, especially when we know that even the Darkin acknowledge her skill. Plus she is the boss of one of the most important clan in Demacia. But we have no news from her since the Duel with Jax (wich was like 9 years ago), and it's strange since we don't even know if she fights against the rebellion, or she joined it (even tho i doubt it). Riot, I know she is not a fan favorite, but that's no excuse to just forget about a character for 9 years

you said that there are ppl who have mages as their fiends. That doesnt even need to be the case. Even if you dont know any mages, immagine that you have constant searches and constant surveilance. If you try to control ppl too much, they will rebel when they get a chance simply to get some privacy, and to not live in fear that they might be convicted based on a pretext.

My guess is that you get some choice, like going as the Rightous rebel, or the vengence rebel. Reforge Demcia, or burn Demacia.

@@GamingWO- Civ Runeterra : Void Invasion. you choose which region is your starter and conquer every other region until you fight with the void. basically map painting race with void that came from Icathia. use everything money, influence, diplomacy, military, magic. everything before void eat everything.
it start with all the basic region Demacia,Noxus and Freljord and added new region or special leader for exaple you can use Morde faction but different from Noxus or you can use Zerath with his acolyte and start with conquering shurima.
Basically Total War Warhammer Imortal Empires but in this case Total War Runeterra : Void Run
