I am with you on that. Combat is not that bad and can be enjoyable once people know the rules. I think the problem that people have with it, is that they can't just brute force the combat and have to wait and do a little thinking. Sometimes, the NPCs become gods of defense and that is annoying, but not a deal breaker for me, not enough for me to leave a bad review for the game lol
New player here. 15 hours into the game and I’m simply amazed. I truly wish they polish the movements and traversing terrain in KCD 2. I’m tired of not being able to run thru bushes and not being able to jump over a small incline or a ditch easily. That’s honestly my only expectation because I already know they’re gonna kill it with everything else.
the only game that made me go to youtube tutorial to learn how the combat work LoL, frustating at first but once you get the hang of it, you wanna go hardcore mode
Why would I watch this if I've had the game for months and have loved it vicariously through TH-cam since it released? Oh, right, Helical humor can't be skipped.
I loved Theresa's DLC, and usually play it shortly after arriving at Rattay, before getting too involved in the main quest. It helps Henry's home town and the people he lived with be a little more "alive" and less just "the place Henry started" and "random Skalitz refugees." For instance when a lady named Jane in Skalitz is talking down her nose at "those dirty beggars" who sit around at the outskirts of town, and then when you see her in Skalitz she's now "Beggar Jane" and giving the armorsmith a hard time about how she's starving and he should help the needy (karma's a b**ch, Jane). And it shows that Theresa is really a badass. As long as you realize you're going to spend a couple of hours in it, it's fine.
Absolutely. I think if people knew what they were getting into, the DLC is great. I think its just that people get caught off guard by it and resent the game for something they didn't expect at the time. Though, while they're mad, they miss out on a good story/details like you mention with Jane or Kunesh for that matter.
There are so many interesting things there, like Beggar Jane and karma, the nerd vs peasant fight, Johanka's weird courtship methodology, innocent Maruna and the disgusting Charlatan, the groom complaining about the endless hay, it really makes Skalitz feel alive, and the townsfolk
Not only should you buy KCD, you should buy multiple copies and gift them to every friend of yours who loves RPG, KCD is the best RPG since Skyrim among all games I've played!
Full recommendation from me. It's one of the rare games I put 100's of hours in these past few years, and genuinely enjoyed, despite the jank and flaws. + the actors playing Henry and Hans are cool dudes, and I usually despise actors. Hell, they even got bloody BRIAN BLESSED (all caps) to get a role on this.
I think the combat complaints are mostly from people that play RPGs like Skyrim or Elder scrolls and expect hack-and-slash button spamming to work, instead of having to learn how to actually wield the various weapons skillfully, and when it doesn't they say "It's too hard! It's not fair!" and ragequit.
By putting it on sale now they got me hooked lol never tried it cuz it looked to hard bought it gave it a try and really really love it best part kcd 2 out in a month!!!
I mean, for 8 bucks for the entire game, there isn't that much to lose, compared to other games priced much higher. I love me some Dragon Age, but the newest one is like 35 bucks on sale (already), and I don't know if it has the same charm and passion some of the older games. Kingdom Come Deliverance does has some rough edges no doubt, but it makes up for it in charm and effort, hope you have fun with it, and let us know if you need any help getting through some strange parts!
@@helicalgoose ive been watching all youre hardcore play throughs 1 question tho i seen u make time advance away from a bed how did u do that it was while u were geting youre picpoketing lvld up in the Inn
If you're on PC,I believe the normal key to press is "T" then it should bring up a wait time to advance time. :D Its quite useful there in that situation. Especially at that Inn where those people most of the time can't reach a guard due to their proximity so its nearly perfect :D Hope you enjoy the game and the rest of the Hardcore Henry series!
The most realistic medieval similator next to Mount and Blade on the market. My only complaint about it was later part of the game got stale and uninteresting, but overall its really great game.
Its pretty darn good. I have a "what if" in the back of my head if Warhorse had more money/time to finish this first game and wonder how much better it would've turned out, but right now in the state it is in, its a pretty great game, and I can't wait to play the 2nd one where it seems they were given much more resources and time.
My favorite DLC was Artbook and OST's but i liked A Woman's Lot too even if it's not really gameplay wise that big i love trying to off all Kumans at start as Teresa specially with restrictions she have.
The artbook is bit a underrated to be honest. Lots of people will buy the whole collection but never look at it. Honestly, I should go back and grab some things off it, its a good little batch of artwork. Its too bad I couldn't get a physical copy of the art book instead, that way I can flip through it lol
Easily among my favorite games of all time. I’ve never been more excited for a game than I am for KCD 2 Btw. The combat is the best melee combat out of every single game out there. Yeah, you’re shit at the beginning of. But you both grow as the player and your character. It takes time but it pays off when you’re busting off knock out combos
Yup, there is at least one living chicken in every cutscene. I did a couple long videos on this, and some of them are impossible to find almost. I think they're doing that for KCD2 as well, they're just hidden all around in those cutscenes.
I think almost neck and neck with the complaints about the combat is the saving system. Which, unlike the combat, is inarguably a preference rather than a flaw (still enjoy the combat a lot though.) I really don't get why so many people complain about the saving system, it's SO easy to find a bed to sleep and save in and have at least 1 or 2 schnapps on you for when you're out in the middle of no where. Drives me up a wall when people say it makes the game unplayable lol and really makes me ask myself how these people navigate life if they can't even learn from and their simple mistakes in a video game and correct it by saving more often 😅
if combat in the game was like combat of fallout 2 this game would be perfect. KCD reminds me a lot of fallout 2 but learning how to get good and time sink for fighting...game quit, uninstall.
Now is the perfect time to buy and play it cuz in two months we have the sequel coming out
I actually like the combat. It is tough at the beginning but the journey to getting better and mastering the combos is something I enjoyed a lot.

Please forgive me, but you are using the word vicariously completely wrong lol

Yes, I recently bought the royal edition for 3.99. You can't go wrong with this low price.

Hope you enjoy it! And as always don't be afraid to ask questions

Don't be a chicken!
play this game, it's super fun and immersive.
