Through hand-built sets, custom-painted action figures and over 90 hours of painstaking animation, “Indomation” is a whimsical tribute to the filmmakers and artists who brought us the Jurassic franchise - a series of films that has inspired countless artists and storytellers, myself included, from across the globe.
The first stories I ever told were as a kid in the backyard with my Jurassic Park toys. Like so many others, that original film provoked my imagination and would ultimately lead me down the path to becoming a filmmaker. It’s fitting then that my first animated short film would feature Mattel’s Indoraptor figure, a toy that children today are no doubt bringing to life in their own imaginations.
I hope you'll enjoy watching the film as much as I did making it.

Its called lack of education and appreciation of the arts. Its a continuing trend with the former and current generation that has never experienced art or given opportunities to express it
Just because something took a lot of time and effort doesnt mean its automatically good or you should automatically like it. I think the animation was great, but people are allowed to dislike it aswell.
I like the video, but just because somebody doesn't does not mean they should be required to simply because effort was put in. I'm sure lots of people are involved in writing, recording, mixing, editing, and distributing some of the worst products. Effort is novelty, but result is all that really matters in a finished product.

Plot twist: when the wooden man gets off the couch to answer the door, the pizza driver is the Indoraptor who acts completely nonchalant about it.

I love all the little details of the Indoraptor unintentionally knocking things down as it walks around. Really makes it feel real in its environment. More CG creatures should do that in actual Hollywood films.

Thats such a little detail but it's so good to make the indo run to the door after hearing the doorbell since he was trained to react to high pitch noises as 'attack' good job on the stop motion btw I loved it
Favorite part about this video was how the set was one big rotating piece; it gave the animation a unique style that you wouldn't really find anywhere else.

Now this is what you call a masterpiece.
i've watched this countless times now and it's still good every time
Not since Ray Harryhausen's work on 1981's Clash of the Titans has stop animation made me feel a legitimate nervous tension. Great pacing, sense of visual storytelling, physical momentum, use of light, and sound effects. You made me genuinely worried that the little wooden man wouldnt survive the attack by the dinosaur figure.
Bat Chain Puller so glad those feelings were translated. The hardest part of stop-motion with a short film like this is the pacing and timing of it all. So glad it’s noticed and felt, and I appreciate the comment.
Clash of the Titans (1981) is an easy favorite of mine, as well. It still holds up!

I like at the beginning the indoraptor just walks around touching things and moving them around. This is the video that made me want to do stop motions.
Rewatching this, and I'm just now seeing that the Ted Brothers repainted the Indoraptor!
It's only in movies/stories, that predators would let go of their prey, that is already in their grasp, just to go after something else. But to be fair, in the end, that "irrational" behavour is very well explained.
This animation is very impressive
Myuutsuu85 it’s probably because he smelled that pizza, and maybe it had meat in it. You know how pizza gives off that scent that makes your mouth drool? Dinosaurs also have good noses, so they probably would choose a said meat-lovers pizza over a human that can fight back, it’s called easy prey. What your saying makes sense too though, good point.
@@epoc6643 There is also the fact that the Indoraptor and raptors in general in the JP verse are highly intelligent animals that have up to human level intelligence meaning they are likely to do more irrational things then say a normal predator.

That was incredibly well done and animated! I love how creative you got with the set designs and the use of the rotating the set to make it more dynamic. Stop motion animation is great and i love the atmosphere as well! Can't believe i didn't see this for the first time back in 2019.

Not only is the animation great, but you expertly subverted a genre that has grown in the stop-motion community, where it seems like every animation is a comedy sketch. I kept waiting for this to be a comedy, and when it didn’t, I was genuinely concerned for our fellow stick man. Well done, friend. Well done.
(There were some comedic moments but the overall tone was horror, and I appreciate that)

This is probably one of the best stopmotion animations I've seen on youtube and, I have watched alot of stopmotions
All i can say is....HOW?! The lighting is fantastic, the sets are incredible, and the animation and camera angles are dynamic and so, so brilliant. I can't begin to believe how much hard work and probably agonising hours it took for you to make this. Well done, is all i can say!

The indoraptor was probably one of the most scary dinosaurs in the franchise and thats why it is the perfect one for a scenario like this.

Brilliant story, I was actually on edge! Some more tweaks interms of animation movement principles to just sort out some of the jittering in the walk cycles. But I was sucked into the story and that is what matters! The lighting, effects and set was genious! Looking forward to your future work!!
