Shawn, I applaud you for speaking out about this issue and in general putting forth by doing that the fact that you care about what we are doing here on this fragile planet. As many other viewers have stated here, music and all the arts can help us through tough moments like this but also provide commentary on the "crap" going on around us.
I am free Thursday through sunday of this week and tuesday through friday next week if you have time to do some digging. If weekends are better for you I'm free this weekend, so let me know.
Much respect for putting your heart on your sleeve, and again as many people have stated here... NOT inappropriate.
    Well Done!
    Carl

Hey...Carl.. How are you? This weekend could work well for me. I'm a bit low on recreational income but that's nothing new. Just bought a couple of records of discog. Lol. But the week end could work. Maybe on Saturday? Do you want me to come over to Canada? And what would be a good time? Call or text me if you want. Cheers! Shawn

Hey Shawn I'm doing okay thanks. I hope you're doing well also. You can certainly come here or I can go there. I'm open for anything. Saturday is good for me, Sunday also to be honest. I get you on the "recreational income", I actually had to stop watching Stunty because I was spending way too much money, money I didn't have tbh. Have to keep it to buying used for a while, the new records plus shipping to Canada is wiping me out. I don't have your number but you have mine from that time we spoke weeks back at streetcorner. If you don't have it anymore I can put it here in the comments, just let me know, I'm not really worried about other people using it. let me know, if you decide to come south of the border I can alert Mr, O'donnell if you'd like. I can fill you in on where he's at. Keep up the awesome videos. Cheers! Carl@@the-vinyl-dreamscape5084

The UN has officially declared the situation “at grave risk of genocide.” And that’s with enormous amounts of political pressure from the United States. While independent observers have said the situation is a textbook case of genocide. That the situation looks a lot like “settler colonialism were there is a sort of long term gradual erasure of a group.”. At very best…we know that nearly half the population is approaching conditions where mass starvation is possible. Sorry to throw those stats out. I just finished reading a report and some of this stuff just sticks to me. Thank you for watching and sharing. Be well. Shawn.

As a young anti-zionist Jew who has been a passive observer of the vinyl community for a couple of years now, this video (not to mention this entire day) felt truly surreal. I hear your ambivalence about this being an appropriate platform for this discussion, but the moral call of genocide requires our grief and rage to penetrate into every available arena of discourse -- the situation is just too dire not to reckon with it in real time.
This may sound trite, but I truly believe that at its best music helps me to imagine a world where Palestine is free. Not just to imagine it; but to feel it deeply in my heart and body. Often when I'm feeling hopeless in this struggle, listening to music proves to be one of the best political tools I have at my disposal to inspire hope in myself so that I can continue to show up.
May we know a free Palestine in our lifetime and a future where Israelis are liberated from the culture of hatred, violence, and bigotry they have been socialized into.

Hopelessness dominating our souls and hearts, that's exactly the point that Netanyahu's crushing war machine wants to achieve.
To leave us in this state of incapacity, anger and injustice.
It is a stain that he is leaving over the Jewish people for ages to come.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this matter. I can just imagine the things that are said to you because of your views on this topic. You are taking a very brave stance. And allowing your humanity to guide you. It’s easy for so many of us to just speak up. There are usually little or no consequences. But when a person risks something…that is a brave act. After reading your response I was certain that speaking out was the right thing to do. Appropriate or not it doesn’t matter. Not when others are acting so bravely on behalf of others. Thank you. Not just for watching but for your voice. Be well, my friend. Shawn.

Hatred, Violence and Bigotry has been the reality for ''Jews'' for a few centuries, thus not surprising they want a homeland and take a dim view of those who oppose this sanctuary.

That was a very moving video, and maybe appeal, Shawn. At this point how can you not comment on this, art is life and life is art. I heard about this tragic loss of life yesterday and felt shocked and saddened. It's almost impossible to come to terms with the number of deaths coming out of Gaza, yet the unnecessary, unacceptable loss of young lives and families being destroyed continues. The depths of trauma for those who survive is unimaginable for most of the people on the planet. Every act of violence against civilians and every infringement of international law, whoever perpetrates them should be held accountable. There must be a ceasefire, the deaths and genocide of the Palestinian people must stop, and it's only our elected leaders that can make this actually happen, I just wish there was the political energy, empathy and will to make that happen. Take care my friend ✌

    • @the-vinyl-dreamscape5084
      @the-vinyl-dreamscape5084  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hey Christophe. You understand the situation. Sadly, I’m pessimistic about the situation changing. Nobody with power wants to help the Palestinians. They are poor and powerless. And helping them won’t happen unless hundreds of millions of people (in the western countries) get in the streets to force an end to this nightmare. Because the western politicians are providing the political and economic support that makes this nightmare happen. Thanks for your comments. It means a lot more than you think. Be well. Shawn.

Yup, If you study the video really closely which has not been blurred. Aaron Bushnel pours the fluid just on the head and top half , not the trousers. Aaron Bushnel flicks his head from the fluid with some fluid on the ground, tossing away the container, The container spilling fluid. Aaron Bushnel puts the US military cap on, then takes the lighter from his pocket, which does not ignite when he uses the lighter on the trousers. Aaron Bushnel raises the lighter to his head. Aaron Bushnel uses fluid on the floor to start the fire. then he cries one "Free Palestine", before being engulfed, then four subsequent "Free Palestine's", which the flames are fully engulfed top the bottom whilst stamping left and right legs heavily on the ground, angrily flapping both arms. Then Aaron Bushnel pauses briefly, screams three times, then yelps, pauses then one final "Free Palestine", then yelps again. The clothes literally shred off, dripping and dropping in flames to the ground, From the exact point of ignition in seconds he stood upright the whole time, turning in a circle stomping, then stands facing forward, wobbling slightly but yet standing before his left knee buckles, jolting towards the floor with both legs pointing in the air. A total of 47 seconds standing upright.

It’s a difficult thing to watch. And I wouldn’t watch someone being attacked or harmed in a sadistic way. But this is nothing like that. The video captures a brave young man unwilling to hurt others. That before he would kill women and children, he would prevent the ruling-class from from using him to do their killing. Thank you for detailing this event. Hard to read but important that people remember what was done in the face of genocide and tyranny. Be well. Shawn

Hi Stefan. No. I’m not brave. But the young man who made this ultimate sacrifice, he was brave. He had been called to duty in Gaza. And he didn’t hide. Or run. He didn’t find a lawyer or go on a talk show or podcast or live stream. Just imagine if the German soldiers responsible for the holocaust had been as brave. Or if those who kept the slaves in bondage had refused to enforce the laws of slavery. Imagine the impact they would have had. Did you read the young man’s quote he left? I left it in the note section. But hey, I thank you for watching and commenting. And I’m sorry to be political, if that’s what I’m doing. Be well, my friend. Shawn

Anyway you look at it there are thousands of innocent people on both sides needlessly dying. It is always the innocent that suffer. Just look at Ukraine. People in power are very willing to sacrifice others (usually the poor) children in the name of this or that ideology. Unfortunately extreme acts like this don't seem to have any effect on these people who seem to only have interests in power and land grabs. His family and friends must be devastated. You're absolutely right that there is something broken in the world and it feels like the pendulum has swung too far to one side to come back. The ultimate irony is in this modern tech world where we're all connected is that there is a huge lack of compassion and empathy for others.

Hi Ben. Thank you for watching and allowing me to get my thoughts out there on this matter. I don’t have all the answers but when a young man steps up and does something this extreme, all of us should consider what would push someone to this point. And I appreciate your thoughts too. You have a good heart, Ben. And we desperately need more people who look at others with humility and a bit more compassion. Be well. Thanks. Shawn.

I don't think it's inappropriate, music and art in general cannot be separated from humanity, when it happens it is a symptom of cultural and moral decadence.
