      Th3Birdman Really cool. My dad used to go on business trips to China when I was little. On one trip, he picked up a fake Rolex for me(the strap was, and still is, too big for my wrist), and later got into the habit of collecting them himself. He still has a small rack of fake Rolexes hanging on his bedroom wall. He traded me one of them for the one he gave me as a kid because mine stopped working and the one he gave me for it was too small for his wrist. The point is that I need a watch-winder myself because I don’t have one and I don’t want to have to rewind the watch when I wake up in the morning.

      @@twoods265 I watch Cinemawins, Cinemasinsins, and Shaun alot more for their analysis. I think they all offer very strong objective breakdowns of films. But I like Birdman because he addresses why I have a difficult time watching the channel. It's frustrating to watch him make up lies, blatantly ignore, or "feign ignorance" to pad the his views. You can easily find fault with films without misrepresenting the film.
      Example, in his Black Panther critique, instead of admitting the time period and setting makes sense for Shuri's "What are those", joke. Something others have pointed out to help fans who were confused.
      Satire is funniest when it parallels reality or its subject. A cheap example is say Cabin in the Woods vs Scary Movies. It works because it mimics the cliches and tropes, but it doesnt misrepresent them. That's why fans of it love it, if you've seen a horror movie, you understand what your seeing and how it relates to the source material

    Why do they seem to be whining about how arrogant and vain Doctor Strange is when that is actually the main part of his storyline. I mean even after he becomes a hero he still retains a little bit of his arrogance and vanity. But why I am not surprised that he doesn’t know anything the character when he uses the whole “the books don’t matter” bs so he can excuse not reading the source material.

    • @agonleed3841

      At first...back when cinemasins actually acted more like a critic...kinda....the books d idnt matter because it was already established in multiple movies on books, that movies were going to ignore parts of books. SO it gets tiresome for OTHER complainers to pull up that, "but in the book...." complaint.
      He's basically saying, "shut up about books. Complain all you want, but the books don't matter to them, so they shouldn't matter to us. Complain about what IS there. There's enough to do so"
      As he changed to focus more on comedy, the books don't matter is just a line that stayed.
      The problem with sinning cinemasins is that YOU HAVE to actually be serious. And cinemasins themselves are not being serious. And therefore it makes the people being serious to them, look foolish

That is some backward ass logic if that's what Jeremy and any of his mouth breathing followers think. Movies always takes some creative liberties from books all the time because sometimes what works in one medium doesn't and can't work in another so changes have to be made to make it fit better, that is the point of making an *_adaptation,_* but just because said adaptation makes some creative liberties still does not negate the original source material.

    Jeremy seems confused about probability. The only reason Strange went to the temple was because he followed up on Pangborn. This is just getting a referral. It would be unlikely if they both had found the temple AND then discovered they'd also had the same doctor, but that's not what happens here. This is simple cause-and-effect. Also, the call Strange gets when he has his accident references the man injured in the experimental armor from Iron Man Two. By the end of the film, it's caught up with the events of Ragnarok, so clearly it DID take years.

    • @filmliebhaber5283
      @filmliebhaber5283 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think the probability Jeremy was describing as low is that of a person in a fatal car crash stumbeling upon a magic way to heel himself. Which is true, but (disregarding for a second that it is simply made up) if you consider that the possibility of seeing a movie about the one guy who did is very high and the possibility of seeing a movie on the many guys who did not is very low (which is a preset, since elsewise he could not complain about said probability), it evens the whole thing out.
      Birdmans example with earth is actually perfect. In asking how come we got the very low chance of being on an inhabitable planet we establish that we can ask that question, therefore are alive and thereby on an inhabitable planet. So the answer is 1, because of asking the question.
      It is a logical theorem of which I forgot the name.

    • @kpan
      @kpan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually according to the director of the film, the movie takes place in a single year.
      Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) spends about “three to six months” in recovery from his accident. (“There is a more precise answer, but I don't remember,” says Derrickson.) The entire film runs from one autumn to the following year’s autumn - though Derrickson adds the caveat: “Don't hold me to this, because I haven't thought about this in a long time.”
      Also Derrickson also said that the armor accident referenced has nothing to do with the iron man 2 movie.
      Its hard to say, but Jeremy was kinda right on this one....Atleast about how long Stephen Strange was traiing for.

      He says the detective work is impossible but it's really like a minute of screen time to explain it. After the Physical Therapist told Strange about Benjamin Bratt's character he could give him the man's address since if he was a patient of his, they would have that on file. If not a patient of theirs it is not too difficult to look up what therapist office the man attended because if his case is well known enough for this therapist to remember then they can look up what facility he was previously receiving treatment at. Sure Doctor Patient confidentiality exists but many times in rare cases like this they have given some information to people looking for a miracle cure. It's pretty well understood that you don't tell anyone they told you. From there he'd head to where the man lives looking to find him and since he clearly wasn't there asking some neighbors or other locals about where they might find him. Then it's just a matter of getting there. Nothing too difficult to do or that impossible.

    As someone who struggles with my health and has had that really effecting my day to day life, Strange's searching for an answer and his frustrations are extremely accurate and whether or not the crash was his fault it's relatable enough that *yes I feel bad for the guy.* Does Jeremy expect Strange to go "Welp, this is my fault anyways herp a derp." NO. He's frustrated with his situation, and probably just as frustrated with himself for putting himself in that place. I've had the same "I'm not getting any better" meltdown and it's such a well done moment to me.

      It is Strange’s fault for being a reckless driver, but he still is a human being who went from being able bodied to disabled in a day. Whether your disability is your fault or not, especially when it is sudden and later in life, it is painful and infuriating. The movie isn’t asking the audience to forgive Strange for his actions, they are showing the audience the spiral chronic pain and disabilities can cause someone as they try to get their old life back.

That's the whole movie.
    It's also a limited release indie production, so it'll have just 10 seconds of one logo and only debuting actors in it, because if they have been in other movies, they are certainly the same characters and that's impossible.

    Plus you know when you have a story about magic and a wizard deliberately making sure events come to pass using a cosmic keystone to see into the future, a little kismet like going to the same rehab guy is not only possible and justified, but perhaps even cosmically enforced?

    Jeremy, even in the real world many theory's elude to "ghosts" being made up of electromagnetic energy. Hence why here, a high voltage shock directly connected to Dr. Strange is empowering his spirit's magical "battery".
    Jeremy claiming to be a true film fan, however refusing to make the simple google search cliche.

    Okay one point I’ll defend Cinema Sins on. I think their complaint was about the woman seeing the invisible sorcerer supreme was that she had just come out of the mirror dimension so she would have seen the sorcerer appear out of nowhere, and would now know magic exists.

      This isn't what happened. Do you have Netflix? Rewatch the scene-- she comes out of the MD on a different street and made a left onto the street the woman was on. She was walking for a period of time before she came into contact with the woman. The woman looked at her like that because she looked "weird"-- a bald, near 6 foot woman in bright yellow robes.

    I love having to explain the concept of the watch being distracting its like jeremy has never heard silence. When its noisy theres plenty of things I dont hear. But when its VERY quiet, I can hear the very low volume but high pitched background noise of a tube tv or the hum of a george foreman resistance heater.

      Yep. At least for me, total silence is, ironically, more distracting than any other amount of noise.

    Cinemasins shouldn't be sinning comic book movies. Them doing this is about the equivalent of an electrician trying to tell a surgeon how to perform surgery.
