He tends to save his sins for Marvel movies for when a NEW Marvel movie is about to come out. So unfortunately, we probably won't see Infinity War for a while.
Jeremy seems confused about probability. The only reason Strange went to the temple was because he followed up on Pangborn. This is just getting a referral. It would be unlikely if they both had found the temple AND then discovered they'd also had the same doctor, but that's not what happens here. This is simple cause-and-effect. Also, the call Strange gets when he has his accident references the man injured in the experimental armor from Iron Man Two. By the end of the film, it's caught up with the events of Ragnarok, so clearly it DID take years.
I think the probability Jeremy was describing as low is that of a person in a fatal car crash stumbeling upon a magic way to heel himself. Which is true, but (disregarding for a second that it is simply made up) if you consider that the possibility of seeing a movie about the one guy who did is very high and the possibility of seeing a movie on the many guys who did not is very low (which is a preset, since elsewise he could not complain about said probability), it evens the whole thing out. Birdmans example with earth is actually perfect. In asking how come we got the very low chance of being on an inhabitable planet we establish that we can ask that question, therefore are alive and thereby on an inhabitable planet. So the answer is 1, because of asking the question. It is a logical theorem of which I forgot the name.
Actually according to the director of the film, the movie takes place in a single year. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) spends about “three to six months” in recovery from his accident. (“There is a more precise answer, but I don't remember,” says Derrickson.) The entire film runs from one autumn to the following year’s autumn - though Derrickson adds the caveat: “Don't hold me to this, because I haven't thought about this in a long time.” Also Derrickson also said that the armor accident referenced has nothing to do with the iron man 2 movie. Its hard to say, but Jeremy was kinda right on this one....Atleast about how long Stephen Strange was traiing for. Sources: 1)www.empireonline.com/movies/features/doctor-strange-scott-derrickson/ 2)www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/56w0q6/hey_everyone_reading_through_everything_will/d8mxv6y/
actually, the call Strange gets about the experimental armor takes place sometime after the Avengers. this is because we see the Avengers tower prior to that conversation.
You're right; I forgot that. But that's still several years later. Amusingly, the alert for your response popped up while I was watching an Ivan Ortega video.
" He saved countless lives! Should we just throw him in the trash because he made one mistake ? " so many people need to understand that in today's society
He says the detective work is impossible but it's really like a minute of screen time to explain it. After the Physical Therapist told Strange about Benjamin Bratt's character he could give him the man's address since if he was a patient of his, they would have that on file. If not a patient of theirs it is not too difficult to look up what therapist office the man attended because if his case is well known enough for this therapist to remember then they can look up what facility he was previously receiving treatment at. Sure Doctor Patient confidentiality exists but many times in rare cases like this they have given some information to people looking for a miracle cure. It's pretty well understood that you don't tell anyone they told you. From there he'd head to where the man lives looking to find him and since he clearly wasn't there asking some neighbors or other locals about where they might find him. Then it's just a matter of getting there. Nothing too difficult to do or that impossible.
Beautiful as always! Doctor Strange is one of my favorite heroes. It’s really nice to have you to do the movie justice. It always annoys me when people try to say a movie is being ‘cheap’ by using magic in a movie that literally revolves around magic.
Right? It's freaking magic. I don't understand the people that need explanations for something is is physically impossible in the first place. Any explanation is going to be bullshit because of this very fact.
@@Th3Birdman Heck, movies that establish magical skill as something that requires training and studying (like this one) go out of their way to make magic less bullshit.
That 'impossible detective work' would consist of getting the adress from the files, going to his flat and hearing from a member of his family that he went to play basketball under that bridge.
Adding on to CinemaSins 8:50 sin in debunking it. The man who directed the movie has confirmed that Doctor Strange has been in the time loop fight with Dormammu for waaaayyyy longer than you would think. Long enough for Doctor Strange would beyond master his powers. So, yes it would take years to go through with it. but due to time loop, Doctor Strange has been through those years of practice.
@@135Fenrir long enough for the entity to realize he can't escape the loop and will be stuck there for all eternity. Also to add to the original comment, they never explain that in the movie. If you have to fix issues in movies after the fact, that's a problem with the movie. Same issue with the star wars sequels
As someone who struggles with my health and has had that really effecting my day to day life, Strange's searching for an answer and his frustrations are extremely accurate and whether or not the crash was his fault it's relatable enough that *yes I feel bad for the guy.* Does Jeremy expect Strange to go "Welp, this is my fault anyways herp a derp." NO. He's frustrated with his situation, and probably just as frustrated with himself for putting himself in that place. I've had the same "I'm not getting any better" meltdown and it's such a well done moment to me.
It is Strange’s fault for being a reckless driver, but he still is a human being who went from being able bodied to disabled in a day. Whether your disability is your fault or not, especially when it is sudden and later in life, it is painful and infuriating. The movie isn’t asking the audience to forgive Strange for his actions, they are showing the audience the spiral chronic pain and disabilities can cause someone as they try to get their old life back.

I actually agree with cinemasins in sin 27 at 9:17, regardless of the situation, anyone could’ve been lucky enough to catch Wong on that bad day. If Kaecillius has happened to try that, on that day he would’ve gotten away with it, anyone would’ve gotten away with it. Wong is the protector of secrets that could end the world, just because he’s listening to music, doesn’t mean that Strange should be able to pull one over on him that easily.
Why the sanctum magic works: It's hard to break down a door. It's even hard when someone has nailed wooden boards over it. Crossing worlds probably takes a great amount of power already, the sanctums probably add enough extra resistance to keep most entities out.
3:15 How is that even a sin? This is an interconnected universe and the Avengers Tower is a small detail they put in because they care about these things. If they hadn’t put it there, a channel named CinemaSins would probably say “This is New York, shouldn’t we have an Avengers tower here?”.
Also for the 5:00 sin- it can be that the physical therapists may have heard about the miracle healing, seeing as it be a big deal in the medical community for a man to heal from that severe of nerve damage.
7:18 this scenes is in fact about Strange's ego and his perception of his own worth. Being a doctor made Strange proud of himself, that's why he corrected the ancient one. She addressed by saying "not any more" his lack of self-acceptance after the accident... Am I the only one who sees that this way?
5:21-5:30 the empathy part lol That's like me watching a Christmas Carol and then complaining "Why should I show empathy towards Scrooge when he was a dick before." Its called character building, usually a character overcomes those faults and becomes better. And like you said he's still human, his fault or not I can see and feel the frustration of a man losing something that was his life and work. Its like a musician going deaf or a comedian losing the ability to speak.
I bet that CinemaSins would love a heist movie where the characters spend the first half showing the entire planning of the heist, step by excruciatingly detailed step, and then, in the second half, everything goes exactly according to plan, with no deviations and unexpected problems whatsoever. That's the whole movie. It's also a limited release indie production, so it'll have just 10 seconds of one logo and only debuting actors in it, because if they have been in other movies, they are certainly the same characters and that's impossible.
"I am only poking fun at some of their mistakes" *literally buries Cinema Sins in every video* I love this channel and how much it exposes Cinema Sins' BS.
I get a lot more pleasure out of your channel making fun of CinemaSins than I do watching CinemaSins. 2 years ago he said Doctor Strange paved the way for Spider-Verse. Winter 2020 comes and they're literally filming at the same time with Strange appearing in Spider-Man 3.
Medical fields have experts in their fields... So it is also possible that Strange's physical therapist knew about Pangborn because he is a specialist in extreme cases needing Physical Therapy and therefore would've been assigned to both patients needing extreme Physical Therapy.

(“There is a more precise answer, but I don't remember,” says Derrickson.) The entire film runs from one autumn to the following year’s autumn - though Derrickson adds the caveat: “Don't hold me to this, because I haven't thought about this in a long time.”
Also Derrickson also said that the armor accident referenced has nothing to do with the iron man 2 movie.
Its hard to say, but Jeremy was kinda right on this one....Atleast about how long Stephen Strange was traiing for.

actually, the call Strange gets about the experimental armor takes place sometime after the Avengers. this is because we see the Avengers tower prior to that conversation.
You're right; I forgot that. But that's still several years later.
Amusingly, the alert for your response popped up while I was watching an Ivan Ortega video.

Film doesn't explain something. Jeremy: I didn't get an explanation. Film does explain something. Jeremy:too much exposition ughhhh
The hypocrisy is... Strange. I'll show myself out.
Alright, I've watched enough of these to realize that your content is great. You've got a new subscriber.

That 'impossible detective work' would consist of getting the adress from the files, going to his flat and hearing from a member of his family that he went to play basketball under that bridge.
Eww nigga u British?
Dr Strange was able to track down the guy because he is Sherlock Holmes, duh
Adding on to CinemaSins 8:50 sin in debunking it. The man who directed the movie has confirmed that Doctor Strange has been in the time loop fight with Dormammu for waaaayyyy longer than you would think. Long enough for Doctor Strange would beyond master his powers. So, yes it would take years to go through with it. but due to time loop, Doctor Strange has been through those years of practice.
Just how long does one have to keep coming back to make an omnipotent, eternal and all powerful being lose their patience with the mouthy worm?
@@135Fenrir long enough for the entity to realize he can't escape the loop and will be stuck there for all eternity.
Also to add to the original comment, they never explain that in the movie. If you have to fix issues in movies after the fact, that's a problem with the movie. Same issue with the star wars sequels
@@kin-3877 yeah, thats not a fix after the fact. Just not spoonfeeding.
@@paulheap1982 I agree, the fact that this EXTREMELY ancient and powerful being eventually lost his patience kinda speaks for itself.
Sin 33: CinemaSins; the channel that wants their cake, to eat it too and then complains when it happens. wait...isn't that what we are talking about?
Dude you always slay Cinema Sins! I live for these videos!
Jeremy: "Or maybe, dare I say it, the Wong side of history? Hahahaha. "Ill give myself 5 sins for that"
Birdman: "Hey... thats my job"
I laughed loudly at that one.
"The DCEU has been heavily criticized for this" Jeremy/CinemaSis does not know anything about comic book movies & neither does WB.....epic burn...hats off sir..🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Daniel Land that’s true. DC seem to rush through their universe
@@gracekim1998 - I agree completely, they are trying to be Marvel when they can do different & just be them. They actually owned all of their ip's but never started world building, they just thought that slapping Batman & Superman together would make money.
And while it did, non comic fans where left unhappy & unattached to that movie hence the criticism
There's two problems: 1) They're trying too hard not to be like Marvel, hence the lack of world-building and. 2) They never intended to create a shared universe in the first place. They were "forced" into it by the success of The Avengers. Every move they've made since has been reactive not proactive, starting with the attempt to retrofit Man of Steel into something it was never meant to be.
@@danielland3767 so basically WB was like

He would probably claim that he is playing a character again.
The Deer King “You don’t understand, it’s completely satire”

To be fair, CinemaSins has a cult around them now, so you won't hear that from them, you'll hear it from their cringey fans. As a fan of Doctor Strange...its a pain to watch Jeremy sinning the movie with no sense at all
Definitely he criticisms of Dr. Strange and Logan killed me both characters are epic.
Thanks for saying that think about the watches in the drawer because I didn't know that. Until you said that I was completely agreeing with CinemaSins on that. lol

I'm anxious for that Everything *Wong* with Cinemasins Infinity War video
too bad CinemaSins is sitting on their asses on that video.
I can finally put into words what I’ve learned from watching your videos: Jeremy has to pad his sin count otherwise his vids would be too short
take the EWW avengers in 3 minutes or less for reference
10:50 this sin is also ironic considering that in Endgame we see that the sorcerer supreme actually was in fact involved in the 2012 New York fight against the chatauri
Comic book movie. Magic. You stupid. Favorite line ever!!!!! Also may I suggest How to Tain Your Dragon 2? There are a lot of sins that don't make any sense as to why they are sins. Makes me really mad when Jeremy sins something in my favorite movie that's not really a sin. Anyways love the video one of my top favorites by far!!!!

Thanks Mesha, and I will! Thanks for watching
Wong is the protector of secrets that could end the world, just because he’s listening to music, doesn’t mean that Strange should be able to pull one over on him that easily.
lich109 Then what’s even the point of Wong?
10:33 Cinemasins NEEDS TO HEAR THIS LINE!

At this point, the only reason I watch CinemaSins anymore is so I have context when I watch Th3Birdman.
Why the sanctum magic works: It's hard to break down a door. It's even hard when someone has nailed wooden boards over it. Crossing worlds probably takes a great amount of power already, the sanctums probably add enough extra resistance to keep most entities out.
10:46 plays out a lot more enjoyably now that endgame has happened
3:15 How is that even a sin? This is an interconnected universe and the Avengers Tower is a small detail they put in because they care about these things. If they hadn’t put it there, a channel named CinemaSins would probably say “This is New York, shouldn’t we have an Avengers tower here?”.
8:13 Spider Pig, Spider Pig, does whatever a spider pig does
Also for the 5:00 sin- it can be that the physical therapists may have heard about the miracle healing, seeing as it be a big deal in the medical community for a man to heal from that severe of nerve damage.
One of strange’s traits is he’s a very fast learner, that’s why he did what took most years in months
5:21-5:30 the empathy part lol
That's like me watching a Christmas Carol and then complaining "Why should I show empathy towards Scrooge when he was a dick before." Its called character building, usually a character overcomes those faults and becomes better. And like you said he's still human, his fault or not I can see and feel the frustration of a man losing something that was his life and work. Its like a musician going deaf or a comedian losing the ability to speak.
that is actually the best reference you could make xd, it works so well
"Comic book movies......magic..... You..... Stupid....." I died 😂😂😂😂😂😂
15:27 Tbh, I think this would also fit with "Jeremy actively wants to make films worse."

"Hmhmhm! Th3Birdman, my spirit animal is."
sin3:her hands are lifting up and the walls are going up......wat is there to explain ITS BASICLY SIMPLE MAGIC
Birdman: *crunches popcorn*
Jeremy: I feel a foreboding presence
High quality intro
I bet that CinemaSins would love a heist movie where the characters spend the first half showing the entire planning of the heist, step by excruciatingly detailed step, and then, in the second half, everything goes exactly according to plan, with no deviations and unexpected problems whatsoever. That's the whole movie.
It's also a limited release indie production, so it'll have just 10 seconds of one logo and only debuting actors in it, because if they have been in other movies, they are certainly the same characters and that's impossible.
"I am only poking fun at some of their mistakes" *literally buries Cinema Sins in every video*
I love this channel and how much it exposes Cinema Sins' BS.
BM is CS' nightmare
"And this [the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse] opens the door to the Spiderverse"

Spider-Man: No Way Home liked this sentence
7:54
I RELISH to see how broken Jeremy will be now that the Multiverse Saga has begun.
SUFFERRRRRRRR!!!!
That beat goes so hard with that scene at the beginning
The Birdman slays another Cinemasins video with ease!
I get a lot more pleasure out of your channel making fun of CinemaSins than I do watching CinemaSins. They used to point out true logical errors and other missteps in movies, now they seem to only exist to make as many jokes as possible at the expense of being very overly nitpicky (and even downright making shit up). I am glad you call them out on it.
13:31 got me laughing so hard I'm crying hahahaha ✨ MAGIC ✨
2 years ago he said Doctor Strange paved the way for Spider-Verse. Winter 2020 comes and they're literally filming at the same time with Strange appearing in Spider-Man 3.
Medical fields have experts in their fields... So it is also possible that Strange's physical therapist knew about Pangborn because he is a specialist in extreme cases needing Physical Therapy and therefore would've been assigned to both patients needing extreme Physical Therapy.
‘To pad the runtime the ancient one goes all fight club for a few minutes’
So much irony.....
"Jeremy doesn't know s*** about anything."

Cinema sins: Has dumb critique
Bird man: WE ARE IN A WORLD OF MAGIC, AGHHH!
"Many call me arrogant or conceded, what of it. Always being right isn't arrogance, it's truth"

GSW is shorter to TYPE than 'gun shot wound' which is why medical people use it as an abbreviation. Since they use that in writing, they say it too.
Love the new intro! Keep on being awesome! :)
Plus you know when you have a story about magic and a wizard deliberately making sure events come to pass using a cosmic keystone to see into the future, a little kismet like going to the same rehab guy is not only possible and justified, but perhaps even cosmically enforced?

After having seen his face make those same criticisms when he is supposedly trying to be a 'critic' and not a 'satirist'...I hate it even more.
tell cimneasins that irony is like slipping with non slip shoes, task manager not responding etc
Cinemasins shouldn't be sinning comic book movies. Them doing this is about the equivalent of an electrician trying to tell a surgeon how to perform surgery.
Which sounds hilarious...which is the point
I think more specifically, cinemasins should sin comic book movies with research or context
You always post when I need it, thank god for birdmans amazing powers
